Great selection of meats and vegetables. My first time here so I can’t give an opinion on the flavors of them all, but they looked good and fresh. I did have the daily special of Carolina pulled pork and a loaded baked potato. Very delicious. I tried the bread pudding, because I like to try new bread pudding recipes whenever I can. It was good, but not great. A bit too mushy and was loaded which was probably fruit cocktail from a can. I love supporting local business and this one is worth it.

For the price I really expected a BBQ culinary experience. Not the case. 2 meat plate $ 16+. Too high for lunch. Really just wanted meats based on dietary restrictions. Maybe there is just a meat option but was not offered that and hurried through ordering process. Anyway, no better than what I can do on a weekend in my own smoker. Good, just not priced for the quality.

This place is to die for though definitely not for the health conscious. I don’t even want to know how many calories I just consumed but it was worth it. I had the beef ribs, Mac n cheese, cream of corn, roll, and peach cobbler. Everything was unbelievably amazing. To top it all off, the customer service was great. The guys working back there are a bunch of nice people. Thanks guys!

I ordered large meals, one for Christmas Eve and one for New Years Eve. Christmas Eve dinner was ready on time, however they forgot the rolls, okay we were not far away and turned around to go back and pick them up. Second order was for A New Years Eve party(ordered2 weeks in advance), on arrival, the order was not ready and they advised they had run out of sausage, Ummm how do you order 2 weeks in advance and not make sure you can fill the order? By the time we were putting the meal out I discovered they forgot the BBQ sauce! 2 times you screw up, and I’m done! If you place an order for a large group, better check you bags and make sure they include everything?

Being a native and growing up in Dallas on dickeys and sonny Bryan’s started eating here about 18 months ago cause was tired of same old stuff from the previous two. Food used to be pretty good here but had friends in and ordered take out for 8 – 10. Brisket was awful potato salad was very salty we could not finish any of it and put in the trash and went to dinner. Will not be back. Time to find new barbeque spot.

Really Good BBQ. I have not tried everything on the menu, but what I have had was really good. Sliced brisket, sausage, hot link, all good. My regular spot for BBQ lunch.

Excellent bbq. That simple. Been here many times and it is always awesome! It is a great spot to grab a quick meal but get there early or parking will be a challenge.

Had a very bad experience while at Big ALS, I had to stop by the shop next door to pay a bill, there were no parking spots available by the shop, so we parked by Big ALS, we went inside the shop to take care of affairs, we were inside the shop less than 5 mins, when we got to the car a large white haired male with a cane asked if we enjoyed our meal, and then before we even answered he barked«didn’t think it was worth a SH!!, next time Park some where else»… To the man who said that if you have a parking problem, then why did you park in front of the door. Also using foul language as a employee is unacceptable. Oh and on a side note, there were no signs indicating your spots were reserved. I will never eat at your shop! I hope others read this and see how much of a tool you are, and avoid your business.

Unfortunately for Big Al I am very disappointed in his customer service demeanor. My friend and I had to go to the transmission shop right next door to his barbecue joint, and no parking was available. We were in the shop for a total of 5 minutes. So we parked in the closest available spot to the transmission shop trying to be courteous to Big Als customers. As we left the transmission shop, a very large man with a cane and white hair, whom parked right I front of big als door asked us how our lunch was. Then proceeded to use vulgar language and tell us to park else where. If this was Al and I hope it wasn’t he needs to park in the back or away from the door if he sees that he has a parking problem. If I could give less stars I would, but I can’t. Needless to say Big Al just lost a potential customer.

Food is good… they have a kids meal on their menu but after 5pm it’s free however they won’t allow you to take a kids meal to go ever even if it’s before 5pm. We paid for two full sized meals and couldn’t bring our child that we left at home food due to this stupid rule! On top of it the Manger guy was super rude and talked on his phone to his spouse as my wife and I waited to pay. Even though food it great will NOT return and won’t recommend it to anyone.

OK, I’m from Long Beach, Ca. So I don’t have a lot of experience with Texas BBQ’s but I’m quite sure This is the Best BBQ Brisket I ever had. Great place. I’ll definitely be back.

We ordered the family pack via Groupon. You get 2lbs of meat, 3 pints of sides, 8 dinner rolls & a pint of BBQ sauce. We ordered over the phone and was told it would be ready within 5 minutes. When we arrived, it haven’t even been prepared. No biggie though. We weren’t in a hurry. The waitress was dry and didn’t engage. We had heard such wonderful things about the food and were very excited. She kinda killed the mood. The food was great. We had enough for two meals for a family of four(with even more leftovers). I wasn’t too fond of the BBQ sauce, however.

I’ve had better, I’ve had worse. 20 bucks for pork ribs … The staff is friendly and the dining area is clean. I’ll have to agree with others about the freshness of the sides. My curiosity is satisfied. I will not return. I’ll just catch up with the Barbecue Man some where in South Dallas.

I am from Dallas but live in San Antonio. When I come to Dallas, going to Campisi’s and Big Al’s BBQ are a must! The beef ribs are fantastic and the moist brisket is to die for! The manager Scott is great and for true entertainment, ask for Big Al himself! Although a big boy, I truly believe he got his name for his larger/bigger than life personality! Go taste for yourself!

I tried this restaurant yesterday evening b/c it was there. First off, walking up I thought this place would be great b/c you can smell the smoke when you drive up. Then you walk in to a cafeteria line, no big deal. The menu wasn’t huge but decent sized. I got a little nervous after I ordered my entrée and looked to the sides. Everything looked like it had been sitting out for hours. So I picked my 2 sides and proceeded to pay. I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich. I think the pork was pretty good. It couldve been better but overall I enjoyed it. It could have had a little less pepper. My sides were Macaroni and BBQ Baked Beans. The mac was meh and the beans tasted straight out of a can of pork n beans. There’s free soft serve ice cream but I didn’t get any b/c it just didn’t look right. The bathroom was clean but still smelled pretty foul. Overall, if I’m ever in the Dallas area again, I’d be more inclined to try a different BBQ place.

Very good BBQ. I picked up take out tonight and went by and got some ribs and brisket. The ribs were tender but on the small side. I would have liked larger ribs. But they were tender and good flavor. The brisket was also tender and good flavor. The beans were so so, not a great choice. The cold slaw was pretty good. I would go back and try it again.

This place has great specials, delicious barbecue, and offer their cooked meats by the pound. Now, that’s the deal-maker. You won’t find better barbecue for the price, available to purchase by weight, unless you drive out to Railhead in Fort Worth. The interior of this place is somewhat rustic, clean, but seems poorly lit. Just take your vittles home!

My husband raves about this place, so when we were in the mood for BBQ this is where we went.(Actually, he brought some home to me.) I asked for some sliced brisket. He brought some creamed corn and potato salad, too. The sides were good– not my favorite potato salad, but not the worst. The creamed corn was on par with Rudy’s(pretty good.) However, the meat left a lot to be desired. Upon first inspection it was incredibly greasy. When I dug in further, the slices of meat were half fat. So a slim piece of beef was ½ inch of fat, ½ inch of meat. I didn’t get a before shot as I was busy trying to figure out which parts of the beef were edible… But the after shot was half of the container filled with fat and grease. No thanks. I’ve had better brisket at Dickey’s. I would not go back.

This is on the list of best BBQ in Dallas? Meh! We didn’t even smell smoke! My roommate and I each had the loaded baked potato with brisket. As I have said before if you have to use sauce in order for it to be called BBQ it ain’t BBQ’d beef. Their chopped brisket was mixed with sauce and although it tasted good and can’t complain about the portion size. Baked potatoes STEAMED in foil, again, that is not a baked potato it is a steamed potato in foil. It certainly was not the kind of BBQ’d beef I was looking for. Sad to say their is much better a lot closer to my house. We had a coupon and we were on our way home so the drive out of the way was not extreme but certainly wouldn’t be something I would drive there on purpose for.
