Church’s Chicken

I’m torn. The dude who took my order at the drive thru had visibly filthy hands. They weren’t covered in feces or anything, but his finger beds were black with crud of some unknown variety. It was like he just finished fixing his transmission before his shift started. Regardless, dude was really nice, and I tried to just tell myself he was only touching the cash register and not my food. I couldn’t bear to look further inside to see what else was going on in there.
The food from this location is always on point — at least it tastes consistently the same as any other Church’s location I’ve been to, so it’s got that going for it. For the love of god don’t try to grab a biscuit to munch on as you drive home. They are hotter than the surface of the sun!

I know, I know, four stars for a broke down looking chain chicken joint in East Dallas. HOWEVER, I had just picked up the most perfect elotes from the kiosk in front of Tony’s neighborhood market and was thinking what to have with it for my lunch. Well there it was right in front of me, and the chicken was crunchy, delicious & moist all at the same time. Mashed potato side tasted just as I remember and so were perfect! The biscuit was perfectly baked and delectable with honey for desert. This seriously was my best tasting lunch in forever. The woman on drive thru was sweet, accommodating and had a smile when I picked up and payed. Thank goodness I needed gas and stopped by Valero/Tony’s just down the street!

I stopped by this Church’s Tuesday afternoon to try their Monday/​Tuesday special, a leg and a thigh for $ 0.99. The chicken was plump, hot, juicy, with a spectacularly crunchy crust, better than any I’ve had anywhere, ever. What’s not to love about that? :P

Wish I could give zero stars, I went here with my wife for her lunch, and the service was real crappy. Also after we ordered our food, my wife and I noticed a BIG cockroach crawling all over the floor! I told them and they were like «oh, really… where?» All they did was scoop it up in a box like they collect them or something! They had a dirty bottle of ketchup and the foot tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. We will never eat here again.

Wow I haven’t eaten here in ages! I don’t have a reason, but today I was hungry for chicken and the sign said «2pc dark for $ 0.99». The service was good and my food was ready within a few minutes. I looked around and noticed the restaurant was clean. I have no problem coming back for a quick snack. I have it 3 stars because it’s church’s chicken. It’s not rocket science!

Incredibly slow drive-​thru service. Food was greasy and tough, and one of my pieces still had the liver in it. Absolutely awful.
