I’m a fan! It took me a minute to get the right combination of seasonings… but I’ve got it now and I love it! Everything is fresh and tasty.

I just can’t get the hang of it. I have been here twice and the first time I made my bowl way too salty. The second time, I chose scallops as my protein and I kept getting an aftertaste of dirt after each bite. The service here is phenomenal, though. The bartender actually practically walked me through the line when I was there the first time and both times that I was there, everyone was very attentive. I feel bad doing just 2 stars, but I wasn’t really satisfied with the food both times that I was there. I’m actually thinking perhaps I shouldn’t be trusted to prep my own food, LOL. I’m going to give it one more chance and if it is better, I will update!

Something bad has happened there. I’ve eaten at various Genghis locations since they opened. Never again! What should have been the evening rush hour, a half dozen eaters. At least two of the major meat ingredients were depleted. At least one other was way past it’s sell-by date, funny looking. No idea how long they’d been out. Feared since 11a. I’ve been ignored by professionals, the service lady was only an amateur. Other posts here praising the service, we were obviously there on different nights. Friend with me manages one of the most-successful Dallas restaurants, he noted the quality of the ingredients had seriously slipped since the last time we at GG, the cooking(hard to screw up cooking on a huge metal plate), the service, the three aluminum bowls at long arm’s reach at the start of the ingredient line, what the middle-sized bowl was for we never figured out, were some of the things that he thought were inexcusable. Pay for the smallest bowl, you won’t want seconds.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The food arrived hot and is made to order by you. Give it a try!

First things first, the service and staff are really there to make your experience a great one. For a pretty chill and low-end eatery, the waiters, chefs, and manager all treated me and my gf like royalty. They were on top of filling up my water and quick to say how happy they were to choose eating at Genghis Grill. The food – always delicious in my opinion. Choose your basic carb to be the bottom of the bowl, whether it’s noodles, rice or cabbage, it will all be tasty honestly. And now instead of creating a giant mess in terms of me mixing up a horde of flavors, they have tips on how to make restaurant-designed bowls that blend the proper amount of ingredients with each other. The food is fresh and it is a good experience. The only con is that reaching the food to put it in your bowl is awkward sometimes. Overall a poor design. And as for portion size, regular would fill anybody up no problem. I workout and am 200 pounds and I would have been filled with a small bowl! ~Carpe Diem~

The food is like all the other locations but the ambience and staff needs help. everything is old and showings it’s age which takes away from the restaurant. they lost their liquor licenses due to poor management, which was very disappointing. The waitress ask me at least 5 times within 45 minutes if I was ready for my check yet, give a person some time to eat and enjoy their food. The staff was friendly just lacking in service skills. in short I’ll never eat at this location again.

First time going first time user. First I would like to say it was a pleasant experience. The food choices are extensive. You could have something different each time for the rest of your life and still have a few you hadn’t tried yet at the end. The service is spot on and the screen/game console is a nice touch.

I like the food at Genghis Grill and the concept. This location is on par as far as quality and offerings so you won’t have any complaints as far as that’s concerned. And yes this is an oddly small, cramped location. My problem with this location is their wait staff and bartenders have turned into high pressure salesman! They push every single item on the menu and try to upsale every chance they get. I’m not sure why they’re doing this or how they can be so enthusiastically chipper about something so annoying but I don’t need that when I’m just trying to have a cheap lunch. Expect to hear about their email list and frequent customer program on every trip. I like the food enough to suffer through it when I’ve got a craving for Genghis but this definitely plays into my decision to not go on occasion.

My 2nd time to a GG. I got sick the 1st time and vowed not to go back. Well. Never say never as I agreed to go back with some coworkers. For some reason people like the idea of picking raw meat(Hopefully stored appropriately) and putting it into a bowl with your vegetables. The idea of raw meat sitting there just kinda grosses me out. This is my personal opinion. Most seem to like this concept. Just not for me. For the price enjoy a nice sit down at a decent restaurant vs this cattle call.

Hide your steak!!! This is a relatively cramped genghis grill and not enough staff… just a debacle. They also appear to have lost their liquor license, offered some kind of excuse over their date limit — anyway seemed a bit odd they have nothing to serve. Slow kitchen and slow service, be warned.

This is the only genghis grill that I’ve ever been to, and it’s the last one. The restaurant is really dirty. The bathrooms stink and are not well kept, the food has flies all over it, and just overall bad hygiene. Against my good judgment I decided to eat there, and what do you know? Bad intestinal infection! Please, if you savor your health, don’t go here.

This location is cramped and that doesn’t work well for Genghis Grill. Food items are comically difficult to reach with sauces awkwardly layered behind veggies. The staff was friendly and the food still good, but that couldn’t make up for the compromised experience.

I just moved to the area and I enjoy going to Genghis but didn’t have a pleasant experience here. From the moment I walked in I was neither greeted nor seated Had to sit myself Down. The way I usually put my good in the bowl is veggies first and then meat. But seems like at this location they want to charge an extra 5 dollars for«skipping line». I of course think it’s stupid to charge me for wanting my veggies first. Where I used to live which was near Lemmon I had never had anyone tell me I couldn’t. I would rather drive the few extra miles for good service than go down the street to eat here.

My rating is based on service. When I lived in Plano I would go to the Genghis in Carrollton at least three times a month if not more, but since I moved to Las Colinas I haven’t visited and thought I would go to a closer location. My boyfriend and I decided to visit the Genghis on Technology Blvd. We won’t make that mistake again. When we walked in the door we were sat promptly and went to the line. In the food line there was no chicken and they were running out of other items(I like Tofu, and there were only a few pieces left). The line was backed up because there was one person cooking all of the food. This was a bad night to have only one person because apparently it was the celebration of opening the 100th store in chain, so there were discounted bowls causing a longer wait. The wait was not an issue, because we knew what we were getting into. We sat at our table and watched as the server kept trying to track people down to give them their bowls because the cards were getting misplaced or lost. When they brought my food out there was sauce in my bowl that should have gone on my boyfriend’s bowl and after waiting a few minutes they came over to ask if we were waiting for another bowl. We explained yes, my boyfriend never got his and that mine was wrong. I explained I would rather just pay for our drinks and go because I really didn’t want to have to go through the line again and wait for them to correct it. The lady showed absolutely no concern at all and said, «We’ll bring your check» and walked off. After waiting what seemed like forever I had to go to the bar to try to track her down, because even though I really shouldn’t have paid for anything I wanted to pay for the drinks since we did drink those. When I went to the bar she just said, «You can go ahead and go.» I’m pretty sure she didn’t ring a check for me because the checks normally come with surveys and she knows I definitely would have filled it out. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Genghis. On a positive note, after we left this location so disappointed we went to the Carrollton location, because even though it was out of the way for us, the service was a million times better(and their line was completely stocked).

I love Genghis Grill but this location definitely isn’t its best. Every time I go it is either way too hot or way too cold and the layout of this location is pretty bad. Things are pretty cramped everywhere except on the porch. Even the food line is pretty oddly laid out and doesn’t make much sense. With those problems out of the way, the food is pretty good with the exception of there being an odd taste at times on different visits. It doesn’t overwhelm everything but I notice a «plasticy» taste in the last few visits. I love the food though and I love the Mongolian concept of creating your bowl and the choices from pasta to rice to tortillas is very nice. The service is acceptable but the atmosphere kind of kills a lot of the experience outside of eating the actual food, and the food is very good. Price is about $ 12 after everything is said and done for a single bowl with water. Have a group of hungry friends? After playing a sport me and a group of guys all buy unlimited bowls and see who can eat the largest number of bowls which must be fully loaded. The person who eats the most doesn’t pay, my record was 5 and it was waaay too much. That is our Genghis Grill Grub contest, try it with all your friends.

Good food and if it doesn’t taste good you’re to blame. You can always make yourself another bowl for another 2 bucks. They have a bunch of proteins such as chicken, turkey, steak, pepperoni, sausage, shrimp, crab, tofu etc. and lot of vegetables, eggs. you can then pick your own spics and sauces and then pick your starch(white rice, brown rice, frried rice, udon noodles, spiral pasta). They fry it all together on a giant wok. You can let them know if you have any food allergies and I have seen them cook stuff separately. As you can see, its a lot of picking, so while it almost always tastes good, getting the exact combination of spices, salt is not trivial. Good stuff all the same.

Oh, yum. Pick your one trip or endless trip bowl and get to choosin’! A veritable pick of different meats, fresh not frozen, veggies, and a plethora of sauces to choose from, all cooked right in front of you! I really don’t know what is not to like. There is also a good beer & drink selection. Never too crowded and not ridiculously expensive. Good choice.

It’s your typical Mongolian bbq joint in a dive-bar/restaurant style of atmosphere. What I did appreciate was that unlike most others that I’ve been to, the meet wasn’t frozen shavings, but actual chunks. They also have shrimp, which was nice. All-in-all, this is a rock solid cheap meal.
