Didn’t know what to expect at a fast food chain but the pictures looks yummy so I decided to try for myself. Also Unilocal offered a check in deal here for a free piece of chicken! Walked into resturant and noticed how clean it was, which is huge for me. Staff is super friendly and I believed the manager was present was very nice. I ordered the two piece grilled, side black beans and drink. And I definitely had to try their yuca fries which were nice and hot. The chicken was juicy and flavorful which I enjoyed. It also comes with the option of either 2 tortillas or bread. The food portions are perfect but still amazed by the flavor of the chicken. The free Unilocal chicken was fried which was also pretty tasty and crispy. I will definitely go back and try the many options on their menu such as tacos etc. Recommend for a delish fast food place for a good price.

A fast food restaurant getting a five star rating no I’m not grading anybody easily. I typically would go here once a month to have a little taste of South America not Mexican food but truly, a menu from the south. They’ve added to their menu a baked chicken three pieces of white meat for $ 7.99 down to a two piece in the five dollars range. This new chicken is spicy moist delicious. The spices are not overpowering but that rich flavor profile that you can only find in refined foods, typically found at that $ 13-$ 15 range. And don’t forget the fried bananas which if you haven’t had him before are a sweet gooey yummy Nes typically found at that $ 13-$ 15 range. The service is always very swift, friendly, and they double check each other to ensure that when you use the drive-through you leave with what you’re supposed to. When you go in the restaurant it is clean smells fresh and people clearly maintain after the customers. When using the drive-through you don’t have to ask for extra napkins they actually ensure that you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. I almost forgot the wonderful jicama fries. Try them it’s worth it. Although I only remember to hit the check in button once clearly I have gone there multiple times and had similar results each time.

Grilled chicken is good. Loved them at the old location they moved and the good had changed for the worse. Fried chicken was just dry. Bragged to mom before I took her and was ashamed when I did. Everything else is still good but they need to work on the fried chicken

My family and i stopped in one day to check this place out. We had not heard of this chicken chain before. We were very happy with our meal. The food was fresh and hot. Overall a really great value. I also love that the foods comes on sturdy plates and bowls when you dine in.

I haven’t been here in a while. And I come here just for the taste of the Mother Land. Which to me is the chicken. I lived in Guatemala as a kid so I grew up eating Pollo Campero. And trust me it tastes exactly as i remembered it. The original chicken is fried in a pressure cooker. They have added grilled now since everyone else has. I need to come more often. And just for the chicken. The sides n such are ok. The only downside to me is the price. But I feel the same about other chicken places as well. As others have mentioned the place seems very well kept. And they are right the workers are very helpful and friendly. My opinion people should try the chicken out. It really is as good as they say, but can be on the small side. Plays into the whole pricy thing.

If you eat fried chicken, this place has the best! Waaaaaaaay better fried chicken than any fast food joint there is.

I ate there for the first time last week and spent the afternoon visiting with a friend in their restaurant. The dining room and restrooms were very clean, the place well-lit and full of natural light. The staff was courteous and professional — you can tell they take pride in their job and restaurant — even the store owner was present! The food… holy moly!!! The food is impressively fresh. The ingredients are excellent and the seasoning is delicious. Since I was so impressed with the fried and grilled chicken, I tried several other items and was thoroughly impressed each time. The empanadas are incredible, the tacos were solid, the bean soup is amazing and the chicken was damn good. I would highly recommend this location and restaurant for anyone seeking fast casual. The food is prepared each morning, in-house, and the ownership is invested personally in its staff and customers. I will be frequenting this place!!!

The citrus grilled chicken was Amazing… I ate it so fast … Simply a delicious combination of flavors with the beans and rice… Oh and not expensive either. I wish there was a restaurant by me… I guess it better for the company to have destination areas

Not impressed. Not sure what this place is trying to do. Are they trying to do a Latin/southern fried chicken fusion? Had a bite of my husbands taco and could think of at least 3 better places. This place should stick to one theme and work on that alone.

This is were I go for my Latin Caribbean quick foodie fix. The Black Beans and Campero Rice combined have become a comforting homefood dish for me. You can’t find either in Belize(red beans and white rice), but they still taste like home. My daughter(the carnivore :-) very much likes the chicken; both fried(light, crisp coating) and grilled. The cole slaw has too much mayo for her and me, but the fried ripe plantains are great. The fried yucca is excellent, always piping hot; perfect from crunchy outside to soft center! I’ve only used the drive-thru service so I can’t review counter service or interior experience; but, the drive-thru is always fast with friendly servers.

Nice selection between fried or broiled chicken. I chose 2pc(leg and thigh) dark broiled, with a side of beans, and 2 tortillas. Beans and tortillas were delicious. I liked the flavor of the chicken, but it was a scrawny chicken with little meat to be had. This combo came with a drink. I don’t do high fructose corn syrup so my only option was the machine dispensed«Gold Peak» unsweetened tea. It was gross– I dumped the whole thing in the trash. Small salsa bar but good salsa. In summation, they need to seriously up their game. Pollo Reggio has much larger chicken pieces– as does about anyone else. Get some real brewed iced tea in there. A few more options on the salsa bar(see Taco Cabana). As it was, I went across the street to get more chicken at KFC.

Food is pretty decent. My only complaint is make sure they hear you clearly on specifications regarding your order. For example, I asked for no cheese and corn tortillas on my chicken tacos. I get flour tortillas with cheese on my chicken tacos. After checking my food while in the drive thru, I told the cashier to correct it and she told me to pull around front. It took about 12 minutes to get through drive through and wait for my corrected food. I would have enjoyed the chicken tacos more if they had got it right. Even after they corrected my tacos, I got chicken tacos, no cheese in flour tortillas but I was in a rush and too tired for the back and forth/waiting game with the cashier lady who brought my food out to me. Plus, she had rushed off by the time I popped open the container to see if they got my order right. The empanadas were interesting, not in a good way. They didn’t taste terrible but I wasn’t ready for the«mushy/creamy» texture of the chicken empanada. Taste-wise it was good but first bite, the creaminess threw me off. I used the check-in offer which is 1 free chicken thigh. It was good until I got past the skin. The chicken by itself was rather bland but tasted better with the sweet chipotle dipping sauce. I literally used the sweet chipotle dipping sauce on everything I ordered: the chicken tacos, the Campero rice side, the empanada and my chicken. The sprite tasted more like a flat 7-Up. If I am ever in the Cockrell Hill Road/IH-30 area, I will stick to KFC right across the street. I won’t say I will never come back but this definitely won’t make a blip on my fast food radar.

The food is great, BUT the service may be EVENBETTER. EXAMPLE: Two of us ordered food and sat down. My friend’s food came out first and he began eating. The gentleman who seems to manage or own this location noticed this and brought me two complimentary chicken legs and said«Your food will be out shortly, but I wanted you to be able to eat with your friend.» That was an awesome and unnecessary gesture. I wasn’t frustrated at all, nor did my food take long to come out. He just seems to really focus on taking care of his customers and goes the extra mile.

Was curious when we saw this place so decided to give it a try today for lunch and very glad that we did! Although the person taking the order spoke very broken English, after a few tries we got it right. The tacos are excellent, empanadas were wonderful and the yucca fries were perfect. After eating, we went back and got the flan and tres leches cake which was great! Driven by many times without stopping but will definitely stop again next time!!!

Great fast food place for something different. It’s Latin-themed chicken and sides for the most part, mostly from Guatemala. Most of their menu is centered around fried chicken which is lightly breaded and seasoned. It actually left me wanting more flavor. Next time I’ll try their grilled chicken or their assortment of various tacos because the salsa bar looks great. I had the campera beans and they have black beans and rice and many other sides to choose from such as fried plantain and yucca.

I walked in and was greeted right away even though the guy was busy. Always a good sign of customer centricity. I told him, no worries since I had never been there before and needed to decide what I wanted to try. He finished helping prepare an order for the drive-thru and turned to greet me again. He gave me a detailed description of where they got their chicken and how it is prepared. Then he offered a piece for me to sample. I gobbled down the leg he gave me and I was convinced right away that I had made a good choice in stopping here. After telling him how good I thought it was, and that is no lie, very very good fried chicken, I told him I was really interested in trying the grilled chicken tacos combo and I would be back for the fried chicken very soon. He suggested the chipotle chicken strip taco so I chose to try one along with the two grilled chicken tacos. I wish I had ordered all of the chipotle tacos! It was very tasty! I did get more meat with the grilled chicken tacos and my next taco order will be a reversal of this one. As I was getting my tea he asked if I would take some free chicken to my coworkers for them to try. How could I refuse? He gave me four pieces, that I have to admit, I devoured one of after sharing three with three coworkers, who all loved it. His name is Rom(hope the spelling is correct) and he and his brother have three of these stores in DFW. One in Irving, one off Webb Chapel and this spot. Check them out! Very nice guy and wonderful fried chicken and delicious tacos complimented by a small salsa bar of a few fresh choices. I’m a fan!

I’m a carnivore, and as such I devour all meat. ALLMEAT – be it red, white or gray(don’t laugh, we’ve all had the gray). But, I do usually prefer the reds. NOTANYMORE – Pollo Campero has made me a believer in the deliciousness of the white meat. I had the fried breast and it was so freaking good that I’m thinking about having it again tonight. It made original recipe and extra crispy CRY in shame. I’m not sure it’s just chili powder in the batter, but whatever it is they can keep it coming because it is delicious. The black beans and rice were also a nice change along with the soft moist corn tortillas. And for dessert, because there has to be dessert, I had the plantains. They taste very grilled. There were a lot of things on the menu I wished to eat, but my tummy is only so big. I will go back for empanadas, tacos and the chicken chipolte tortilla soup. AND, the service was great. Super friendly drive thru.

Pollo Campero is a chain restaurant from Guatemala in Central America. The recipe is a family secret, which makes the fried chicken so so so good! I have actually tried one of everything on the menu. This location in Dallas, TX have tocos which are really good. The fried plantains and yucca are great. I recommend you at very least try this place, you may just fall in love this the great family flavor :)
