Go to lunch spot in our neighborhood, but every time I go, I remember why it’s been so long. Seems a little overpriced for sandwiches, but ok. Hunny loves their large original. I ordered a salad(turkey chef); I guess I was expecting iceburg or romaine, but it’s all bitter greens. And I really could’ve used a knife to cut the large pieces of lettuce and turkey. Meh… The main question is: why is customer service so hard for these people? The cashier seemed a little put out that I was even there(grrr, scowl…); and when I ordered my chips after I received my order, why couldn’t the person just taken my money, given me my chips and let the cashier ring it up, instead of making me wait in line again? We’re on our lunch break, for the love of Pete! On a high note, the bread that comes with the aforementioned salad is greatness! And the red wine vinaigrette was surprisingly very good. I guess I’ll go back to making my own lunch, since I’m still looking for a decent salad in East Dallas.(Besides Alligator Café). If anyone out there has some suggestions, please!!! Send them my way…

I am splitting the difference between my wife’s opinion of this place, 4 stars. And my opinion, 2 stars. If you ask me Schlotzsky’s is little more than a slightly upscale edition of Subway. You order food and some disgruntled«artist» makes it for you. Next thing you know you are taking a bite out of a sandwich wondering whether that slightly gooey spot is someone’s spit. But I digress. I ordered the high end beef sandwich. The bun was soggy, too buttery tasting, and spongy. I so not wish to recall the texture experience again. My wife, on the other hand, got the turkey sandwich and loved it. She even said she enjoyed the texture of the bread. I remain skeptical. I won’t be going here anytime soon. Maybe my wife will sneak out by herself sometime. No she won’t; even she admits it was not that good.

When ever I’m undecided about where to eat, I always seem to turn to Schlotzsky’s. I’m not sure if its the fact that its easy to get to, or cheap… maybe its the fact that I know I’ll always be happy with the meal. I’m a HUGE fan of the smoked turkey original sandwich and it’s not let me down yet. The bread crust is always well toasted and crunchy. The meat is never too salty. But my favorite is the Schlotzsky’s hot sauce. Can I buy it somewhere? Its REALLYREALLY good! This location is always clean… restrooms are decent. Staff is friendly. Never had problems finding parking. If you’re in a pinch and can’t decide where to eat, check this place out and you might be surprised.

I hadn’t been to a Schlotzsky’s in years but swung by one on the way home when we were moving because we had officially run out of food. I had not remembered them fondly but it seems that they’ve really upgraded their menus! First time we went we grabbed sandwiches, and their turkey was really good and flavorful. Hubby got ham and turkey and loved it too. The second trip was what really floored me, I tried their chicken and pesto pizza and WOWZAH it was amaza-good. Hubby got a BBQ pizza but ended up trying to eat mine instead. We actually went back a third time before we moved and each got the chicken and pesto pizza again. It’s a good amount of food for not a lot of money, and is delish! Staff at this location is also really nice, even late at night which is a bit of a surprise from a chain.

I’ve always been a fan of Schlotzsky’s. But as we all know, chains don’t always give you the same experience at each location. A few months ago, this location was a consistent 2.5 star experience. The staff was consistently indifferent and prone to mistakes and the sandwiches were consistently skimpy. But something has changed. My last couple of visits I’ve seen a manager-type lady walking around with samples of Schlotzsky’s newest pizzas, the cashier has been more friendly, my son’s order has been correct each time(it truly throws them for a loop that he doesn’t want cheese on his turkey and lettuce sandwich) and the toppings on my standard Original have been generous. I’m pretty pleased with these changes and am much more willing to choose this location of Schlotzky’s over the plethora of other food choices I have in the area. Now if I could just get them to deliver.
