My boss tells me every time I go to Dallas I must check out Stans! Well I finally did! It is the typical dive bar! Nothing fancy or precocious about this place! Great place for a few good beers! They have pool tables and shuffleboard too. I definitely think if I lived in Dallas I would be at the Stans frequently!

Wow, can I give this place 0 stars? Showed up on march madness Thursday for the 1st rounds and the place was dead! The old woman behind the bar stated that it was because they are normally closed until 3pm. Ummm, hello, someone needs to market that they are open than somehow. D magazine stated this should be a place to go and watch the tournament. Apparently no one else thought so. So there was a nice older man who tried to get the tv and sound to work for a game I was trying to watch but to no avail, this is one of the best sports bars right??? Asked what the drink specials were and the old lady didn’t know but she said ask me and she will look it up. Asked for laguanitas IPA and they were out. So here I am, a dead bar, no sound, rude old bartender, and the one beer I wanted they were out. I just said heck with this and left. If you can’t get your«sports bar» to run like a sports bar, then what good is it.

Definitely has the bar feel and smell. The service was awesome, had a bunch of oriole there and still got what we wanted in a timely manner. Food was good, above average for bar food!

While in Dallas for Thanksgiving, I figured I’d check out Stan’s Blue Note for the Florida vs. Florida State game. Stan’s is supposed to be the official bar for Dallas-based University of Florida alumni. There was a decent number of alumni there, and I wasn’t expecting a huge turnout, but I was expecting a little better atmosphere. Sully’s House in Chicago and the Old Key Lime House near West Palm Beach are both Gator dive bars, and they were great. Stan’s was just ok. I know they have their loyal patrons, and maybe Thanksgiving weekend is a bad time to judge a bar, however, I just didn’t love it. I will say the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to drink local beers, and they were sure to point me in the right direction. My glass was rarely empty, and our server was always asking if we needed anything else. In the end, my brother, his wife, and my dad all left with the same opinion. It’s cool because you can watch the game anywhere, but it’s just a dingy place with subpar fried food. The other UF alumni bar is called Red Dog Right, and I’ll have to check that place out next time I’m in town. Go Gators!

Probably the dirtiest place I’ve been to in a while. Seriously. But, they have tons of TVs and indulge your request for a specific game with out of area teams to be shown. Friendly staff and parking half a block down make up for how funky it is.

Stan’s is one of my favorite bars on Lower Greenville. They have a nice outdoor patio and pool table. Great place to meet folks, always jumping. Food is pretty decent as well. If you are looking for a place to go have a good time and don’t mind a crowd, try Stan’s.

Love this place! It’s a divey sports bar are doesn’t try to be anything else. The owner, Perry, is great and is very accommodating to groups and parties. They have a surprisingly good beer selection and there are TVs EVERYWHERE. The food is definitely bar food, but its solid. If you’re looking for a chill place to watch a game, you’ve found it.

Stan’s is a glorious neighborhood dive bar, stumblin’ distance from my house. I’ve been a loyal patron for over 30 years, so I’ve see it grow from its original space, about the dimensions of a bowling lane, to its current spacious expanse, indoors and out. Food is quite solid for bar fare, and the tap beer is cold and cheap with something for everyone. You will likely dig Stan’s– well worth a visit, if you’ve never been.

Where do I start? The bartenders are awesome, friendly, no b.s. kind of people. The customer’s are also super laid back and friendly… which really with those two components how can you not have a great night?! They’ve run great specials through out the week. Wednesday is Trivia night which is definitely a friendly, competitive, blast… I’ve used friendly multiple times in this review which is really the biggest point here it’s a friendly, laid back, divey enviornment. On a sidenote if you’re ordering food my faves are the mini corndogs abd friend pickles!

Stan’s, Stan’s, Stan’s. If you ever want to get out of that uptown vibe this is your place. It’s very relaxed and laid back and the service is always on point. They have a huge selection of draft beers, tons of screens to watch the games on(including a massive wall screen), pool table, shuffleboard, decent food, and an awesome patio. It’s a great place to end the night and they serve beer in mason jars! Doesn’t get better than that. Also they have a juke box with an awesome selection of tunes. Cheers!

Went here yesterday for the first time. I was drawn into this place because od their selection of college teams they had on display on their windows. Being from The Ohio State University, and seeing two teams from«that state up North» and not Ohio State peaked my interest. This is a really chill bar. I had a $ 3 Margarita, sat on the patio and just enjoyed a beautiful day. This place is very pooch friendly and has a laid back and relaxed vibe. Love it. Although, they should add Ohio State to their display :)

Stan’s is still a favorite place of mine to watch football. We always try to sit at the same table, and I always order the mini corn dogs. Sometimes they need to be cooked a little longer, but they are usually good. Service is still pretty spot on! Stan’s is just a good dive that always feels like home away from home since I’ve been going there for so many years. Not often enough to be a regular or even know who any of the weight staff are. Too bad about the Cowboys this year… I didn’t get out to watch many games since I didn’t want to be seen crying in public.

So, the name reminds me of Toby Keith’s song called Big Blue Note… only this place isn’t depressing. Got there arounf 6:30 for the Cowboys game at 7p and there was still ample parking, sure as the night goes on it may get more difficult. It’s a wide open bar with good drink specials($ 2.50 for Texas beers), pleanty of seating, and lots of television screens to view the games. They offer a pretty decent selection of bar food. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and wasn’t disappointed. Large dog friendly patio with screens out there as well. Nice and cool night for enjoying. Some ladies working for Crown Royal came by with free tshirts, stress balls, headphones and drinks… who doesn’t like something for free? Anyway, I am a fan and I’d go back.

I used to be a semi-regular at Stan’s but then I got older than 25 and stopped going with such regularity. That aside, Stan’s is a fantastic little bar on Lower Greenville, nestled right there between Lowest and the M Streets. I’ve never eaten there, but literally all of my friends have and they swear by it for great dive bar food. Nothing against the high class food you might see at the Libertine, but sometimes you just want to hate yourself the next morning. As far as drinks go, they have a gigantic row of taps and shots ideas for you to help you not feel feelings anymore. I suggest PBR and whatever shot the bartender whats to make. That’ll help you experience Stan’s the way God wanted you to. Oh, and if you play shuffleboard there, pick the side closest to the back. There’s a hidden dead spot that affects the other side more.

I went there with a group on a Thursday night. The place was pretty dead but it didn’t really bother me. Drinks were cheap. There were a drink specials which is typical of most bars on weeknights. Food– I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I got it with no bacon. So annoying! The waitress sucked! The service is so bad. We couldn’t get her attention when we needed her. She obviously got orders wrong. It was just ehhh

Food: 2 Décor: 2 Service: 2 I came here on a UYE to watch the Dallas Mavs play. The place was packed, but we had a table reserved. Service was slow, and I had to walk myself over to the bar to request food. The food itself was pretty average bar food (chicken finger BLT), so don’t get your hopes up. There’s also no parking nearby, so I had to park in the residential area a couple blocks away and walk over.

What a bar stocked with sports fans! As a Dallas native, I have had my share of grand times at Stan’s, but until recently I did not know its capability of being an awesome spot to catch a game — especially one as exciting as the Mavs being in the finals!!! The back room has a whole wall covered in flat screens dedicated to entertaining its guests. I don’t know if it’s the the life-size Elvis velvet painting watching over the enthusiastic fans or the strange collections of ‘things’ that adorn the walls, but it’s almost as if they had a garage full of memories and souvenirs from years past and just decorated the bar with random stuff. I think my favorite is the kind-of-scary-at-first soccer player mannequin right when you walk in. Their have a pretty solid beer selection and decent prices on the pitchers of beer. They even serve them in mason jars. Cute! Their patio makes for some prime lower Greenville people watching. Their food is definitely bar food, but not bad. I recently had their fried pickles and nachos(God, that made me sound like 400 lbs.) and the nachos were yummy and did not skimp on the jalapenos. The fried pickles could have benefited from being less fried and more pickle. But all in all, Stan’s always makes for a fun down-to-Earth time!
