Great food and service. Nice place to just hang out, have a drink, and something to eat. Felt like home.

It’s a long journey from where you’ve been. You never know what to expect. You might not even know anyone. I’ll be the first to admit, when you walk in this place, you would not expect the level of service or quality that comes. Not joking. It’s deceiving. You know what screw that. It’s actually the best form of false advertising. The Wedge Salad was delicious. The Chicken Sandwich was killer. What’s even more impressive, is that as large as the place is, our drinks never went dry. And we were sitting at a table. You can’t say that about bar seating, at times.

Best part about this place was the service staff, hands down. They were friendly, had a great rapport with all of the people in the bar. There was constant check up on how everyone was, if we needed anything else. Unfortunately the food wasn’t as tasteful as I would have hoped. The food sounded much more appetizing than it really was. I still really enjoyed the vibe here and would definitely come back here for drinks.

We dined early so the service was very good and the dinner was great! Fish & Chips was Texas size and the Chicken Fired Chicken was killer good. No complaints here.

So my husband and I came in and were totally ignored. We finally asked for Service and were ignored again! We spend a ton of time on that corner with Dodies, Terilli’s, and Blue Goose! So we hadn’t tried GAB&G since it switched from the Londoner, terrible, just terrible. When we finally were served, they gave us trouble getting change! Rip off! Very rude bartenders. I suggest going to another place for good entertainment and food.

Being such a classic bar in Dallas, I wanted to love it just as much as I enjoyed the Londoner. Sadly, it’s let me down repeatedly. On a recent visit, my group of four waited over an hour for our overly-salted, chewy food. We nicely asked for an update on the food and were told that the kitchen was backed up, but the place had less than 10 people with more slowly trickling in. Two cooks in the kitchen, one bartender, and one server – during brunch time and during a Cowboys game seems like a very, very bad idea. I should’ve taken a photo of the food when it finally came out, but we were so hungry from the long wait that we immediately chowed down… and then stopped. I ordered the pulled pork«chilaquiles.» Minimal pork and overcooked, salty eggs, and… corn tortilla chips?! Not chilaquiles. My husband’s meal was no better. Two stars because they do have great drink specials all week long and the staff is friendly. My husband and friend ordered a couple of drafts which were questionable – I’d stick to bottles when ordering beer. Good place to meet up for cheap drinks before heading for food elsewhere.

Food was average, service below par. Wouldn’t go back. Went to watch the World Series. There were about 10 people, including staff, in the whole place. Asked for them to change a few TVs to the game and it seemed to be an inconvenience. Asked for sound to the game instead of music and was told no to service other patrons. Said patrons didn’t show up until the game was almost over.(Making the population go from 10 – 20, max). Not a good atmosphere for a bar or a restaurant. Didn’t want to be a bar and play the sound to the game, but didn’t want to be a restaurant and provide great service. Not worth the trip back. Save yourself the trip and find a better place on Greenville.

Go here all the time, esp to watch football on Thursdays. Only knock is they don’t have the ticket to watch all the football games on Sunday’s.

I reserved some tables on the roof for my wife’s birthday. The staff was extremely helpful in getting things setup and taking care of some special requests. It turned out to be a beautiful night and good time.

This was not our first choice. We had wanted to go to Blind Butcher, but parking was not happening(even at 5:45 on a Saturday in August). Super hungry, we headed north on Greenville in desperation. Found a parking spot and ended up here. Expectations were pretty low. It just looked like a bar that happened to have some food on their menu. I did not have high hopes. We ordered deviled eggs, a wedge salad with grilled chicken, and a fried chicken breast sandwich. Everything was surprisingly good(and cheap). My only minor gripe was that my salad was served on a long, narrow plate that made eating it a bit of a challenge. It was tasty, though. Service was attentive and friendly. There’s apparently a rooftop patio, although we did not venture up there. Looks like they have good drink specials for weekend brunch, if that’s your thing. I’d definitely go back.

Service was good. Food not so much. Too many flies inside at the bar area. We paid too much for two beers and an appetizer. Our first time and probably our last. More or less like a happy hour with friends and not so much about the food and drinks.

Love GBG! This our go to place! Great staff(Kristin, Steven, Brian, Andrea, Brandy… And anyone we forgot… Love you all!!!). And they make a great effort to learn their customers’ names and make everyone feel welcome!!! The food is also great!!! I highly recommend the Pot Pie and the Pot Roast!!!

The shrimp and grits are awesome! Just alone the grits are delicious but the jumbo shrimps and the sauce make it really special. The tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich is good too. They remodeled the bar so it is much more open and they have a pretty decent draft selection.

I was disappointed. I expected much more since I used to grub and enjoy this spot before the great fire. It’s Sunday and not too busy so the food taking forever and not being right is not a good look. I might try it out again since I know they just took this over again from the Londoner but carrying the name GBG again leaves high expectations. Food was ok.

Watching the Cowboys vs Packers game. Place was packed, yet the service was great! Got off to a rocky star, but picked up really quick. My grilled chicken sandwich was delish. The spicy pickles made it so yummy!

Excited to see the return of GBG. We had dinner there tonight, and had great service — thanks to our server Adam. He was very friendly and attentive. We both had the Chicken Pot Pie, and were not disappointed. It was delish; especially on a cold, rainy night like this.

We arranged dinner reservations thru Unilocal. The restaurant called to confirm. We arrived about 10 minutes early. Waited at the front«hostess station» for about 7 – 8 minutes, …no one ever came. My husband walked back to the kitchen and asked for help… no one knew anything about reservations. A «wait staff person possibly?» told us to sit anywhere. We(4 of us) sat down. Our waiter came over to give us our menus and take drink orders. Two of us asked for Chardonnay and two asked for beer. The waiter came back and said… we don’t have any Chardonnay… HUH??? What bar doesn’t have Chardonnay? Then we looked at the menu. and noticed it was called a «Game Day Menu»…on a Saturday night??? Burgers, wings, and such… so we drank the two beers and left. Not a great impression if they are opening back up.

They’ve done a great job on the menu. They have one of the top burgers and the french fries cannot be beat for straight up fresh cut fries. The charred romaine salad is also very good. It’s served with egg, bacon, and a white anchovy dressing. I think my favorite though, is the fried chicken. There’s not a heavy crust, and the flavor is savory and juicy and it was served with collards, which were also very good, a biscuit and gravy. I haven’t tried anything I didn’t like and have seen some really tasty looking items come out of the kitchen. They have some other interesting things on their menu and I wish they’d serve more of their regular items on the brunch menu. I’m not a beer drinker, but they have quite a few on tap. Friendly service, and most of the bartenders are attentive. The remodel was basically taking out the pub top over the bar and that opened it up. Supposed to be having live music again. Looking forward to it. So glad the GBG is back.

GBG is my neighborhood spot. I’ve been coming around here for years and seen it go from Rhost to The Londoner to GBG. But I have to say that what it is now is my favorite. This place has a great atmosphere. The staff is great from Brandi as a waitress to Brian, Steve, and Kyler as bartenders. And on top of that the owner, when he’s in, always greets me with a smile and addresses me by name. In addition to the great staff the menu has accrued some awesome new items. From the appetizers to the entrees I have yet to be disappointed. It is some southern cooking with a modern flare and the price is just right. And to top it all off, they have opened up the space and added more TV’s. Being a big sports fan I love coming here to watch the major games, eat some good food and visit with the staff. Coming here alone or with friends I’m always in good company. Greenville Bar and Grill is a hidden gem that is to precious too be kept a secret. Come one, come all and experience it for yourself!

I think this place as potential to be a great place again but I don’t think it’s there yet. The décor is exactly the same as it was when it was the Londoner. I really think they should give it a new coat of paint or something. That way it completely cuts ties with the Londoner and give a very definitive«Greenville Bar is Back» vibe. Right now it’s just.“we changed the menu and lit up the old sign”. We did have some issues with the menu… we came in the afternoon to watch football with a group of people. As soon as we sat down, we wanted to order something everyone could snack on. We were disappointed. The appetizer/sharable items are only offered at night. A little bummed, we got the cuban and the burger. We liked the burger a lot. A little steep on the price point but it was good. It was extremely juicy and perfectly seasoned. However, the cuban was not good. It was a good pulled pork sandwich, but a terrible cuban. The pickle was way too thick, the roasted pork was overpowering and there was barely any shredded(why was it shredded???) cheese on it. Dallas has a lot of fantastic cuban sandwiches(Jimmy’s, east hampton sandwich co., Uncle Über’s, C Señor…) that are all very different so there is room for different interpretations. I just didn’t think this particular one worked. I will say this, the fries were awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and the beer is cold. Because of that, we’ll be back and honestly we’ll probably keep trying the menu just in case. I do want this place to succeed, I think they just have some kinks to work out.
