The only good thing about this place is the drag shows and those are even hit or miss. The fact that people 21+ still have to pay a cover is absurd. The staff are super rude all the time and so disrespectful. There are too many barely legal kids running around and bumping into you that it is just so unenjoyable. I avoid this place as much as possible.

S4 honestly was super popular & a blast at one point in time. Super crowded, loud & lively with long ass lines. Now it’s extremely hit or miss, with much more emphasis on the miss side! Super lonely & dry, mostly filled with a bunch of barely legal teens & tired adults alike & there’s never ever a line. I’m still surprised there’s a cover charge for 21+ still on some nights?! Like c’mon now y’all. I’d gladly pay one if it was actually popping off inside but it’s really not it’s actually far from it! Blah. Cheap heavy-​handed pours though so for that I guess I’ll give a few stars! The atmosphere just isn’t what it was long ago! The music isn’t good & it just isn’t the place to be & it’s not worth the time or money. Get you some drinks here when it’s free entry but afterwards go & move on to other places instead!

Brought in the New Year at this spot. It was packed. Drinks were on point. Didn’t take much money to get me and the 3 ladies I was partying with to be tipsy. Party central and great location. Über rides were easy to get in and out right outside the doors.

The best place for dance, especially on Thursday.
Music, sound and light system are just perfect.

The club is large with many rooms. Unfortunately, the music on the main dance floor is usually too loud and too fast to dance to unless you just enjoy jumping up and down. There’s to much treble and not enough bass in most of the songs too. I guess the party drug crowd might prefer this though.
If you want good, danceable music at a gay club, you should check out the Eagle. It’s a leather bar but the dancing is infinitely better.
S4 does have some amusing drag shows if that’s your thing, but you’ll be swamped with bachelorette parties on any weekend night. I think their boyfriends consider it a safe place for them to do this, double standards aside.

Came on a Saturday night; at around 1AM there was no line, which was nice because Uptown got super packed. Unfortunately, i didn’t know that there was an 8 $ cover charge, but in the end it was pretty worth it.
When we walked in, the music had just stopped and the dancefloor was kind of empty. I was pretty worried that this was going to turn into a waste of 8 $. But, my friends and I went to the second floor to explore, and we stumbled upon a gem! A.k.a our very first drag show! it was incredibly entertaining; the emcee was hilarious, but beware to not draw her attention/​ire, or else you’ll be the butt of every joke she makes. The performers were all great, and we had a blast at the show.
After 2AM the dancefloor got packed! I think because S4 stays open til 4AM, so everyone shows up around 2. The music was really good later on in the night, and there was a lot of interesting dancing happing on the floor. Overall, great place to go to dance later in the night, but show up a bit early to miss the line and go watch the drag show!

A group of my friends were in line tonight, waiting for so long time only to encounter the rudest door lady at the door of this club. I did addressed her and told her she did not have to be so rude, specially after we had been waiting at the door for so long: I turned around to my friends and spoke to them and all of the sudden she started going off and calling the unknowledgeable police officer to ask us to leave: and he just waived us goodbye, and since we are Latinos we just left to avoid any racial confrontations or arrest we just left. I will never come to this place ever again when I come to visit dfw.

Some friends and I went to s4 last nite which was Sunday Labor day weekend. Out of all the fun great songs they played, one of them was «Who let the dogs out.»

Ok so I love this place, but I went In at 2 in the morning, and they wouldn’t give me a plastic cup of water, but they would sell us a bottle of water. Is this not against the law? What if I got too dehydrated and had a heart attack on the floor? There were plastic cups on every bottle of liquor which seems wasteful.

Charged $ 5 cover that rang up on the register as «$ 0 — Free Cover.» Odd cuz I gave you money and you gave me change.

$ 8 cover, still not bad! And they close at 4am!
Unfortunately, we were only able to grab 1 drink at this bar since it was basically last call by the time we got in. This place is HUGE! I loved how the dance floor was big enough for people to spread out so it wasn’t super cramped. We were lucky enough to be able to catch the last performance of the Drag Show upstairs! I guess they do save the best for last, because the performer sang Taylor Swift’s Trouble and it was hilarious! Soooo entertaining! I wish we went earlier to catch the other performances! I’d come back to this club if I lived in the area or the next time I’m visiting.

Lots of fun! Very unique two story bar and drag show! Drinks are pretty tasty and service is nice and fast!

Anyway me and my big booty Asian gf about to turn up with gay folks.
Drinks was strong, music was on point.
Food. There is no food. (As foodie I can’t comply with that) so I have to give them 4 star.
Overall s4 is a place you must try.

This club use to be the hot spot back on the days. You had to wait in a long line to get in. Now you can walk in without a line. even on a Saturday. Music was so outdated and nobody was dancing. Only about 40 people down stairs. Seems like every time I go it is getting worse. Doesn’t caven care anymore? Rose room is ok if you can look beyond the bridal parties. I think the whole place is a joke. Across the street at Round Up you can’t move because it is so popular. Besides a lot more fun.

I hate when clubs don’t have accurate reviews, so I will try to be as descriptive as possible as to why I am only giving four stars as opposed to five.
When you walk in, the entrance is nice and the usual greeter is friendly. It’s clean and the traffic seems to flow very well. The setup of the club is really nice. Big open dance floor that ends up jam packed. Plenty of seating. The music is generally a good mixup of mashups and house. People come very casual to this club. Jeans, flats, or as little as you want. Anything pretty much goes here. The bathrooms could use some work. They aren’t very clean or well kept, which is kind of a big thing for me when I have had a drink or two. Lots of vommiters in the bathroom too which to me means people are being over served… but who knows. (to each their own on that)
The drag show, I think it lacks in performance. It’s neat to see once and they are totally glammed out, but I just feel it would be nice if there was more dance or more singing instead of the lip singing. I just felt it was a lot of free money being handed to people who weren’t doing that much. Beyoncé was incredible! She had the best attitude/​performance of all the ones we saw last week. This was my second time to see the show at S4.
Overall, the drinks are well poured and an average price for Dallas of $ 8 for premium brands. The bar tenders are friendly and prompt. The club is pretty clean and I think most people will have a good time here.

I recently saw the musical Kinky Boots at Fair Park Music Hall and thought it was high time I get back to S4. The last time I enjoyed their show of ‘female and illusionists’ was summer 2011; way too long ago.
A bit has changed since then. They’re featuring less of the ‘OMG, I can’t believe not female’ (only two this time) and all the talent spent considerably less time on the stage putting on a show. Most didn’t even get through the 3^rd line of lip syncing their lyrics before they hopped down to work the crowd for the money grab.
The exception was ‘Beyonce’; she stormed the stage with 2 backup dancers and truly put on a well choreographed performance. She made the evening worth the while!

You know how there are some places you feel like you need a few shots to enjoy? S4 is not one of them. I have NEVER not had a great time here. My friends and I come here to dance. Great music. The queens put on a great show too, WERK ladies.

This is by all accounts a «twink» or wanna be/​has been twink bar. There are groups of straight bachelorettes that go to dance with the gay boys – this is becoming a common trend in many cities across America so it’s not just S4. The straight clientele, especially the women, don’t have to worry about, «putting out» with the gay boys. Once drunk the straight girls tend to be a little bit out of control and sloppy drunk.
A number of patrons who frequent this place clearly parTy which is problem.
Dallie-​Tude rude is king here with lots of young guys flaunting their name brand clothing! S4, is busy – loud, and draws a young, inmature, crowd that’s still coming to grips with their own sexual orientation.
«The White Boys» are the «gate keepers» and tollerance can be low towards anyone who doesnt fit the Calvin Klein, Abercrombie and Fitch, or Hollister stereotypes.
It will never be a NYC, Los Angeles, or Miami level club – the crowd will ensure that. A very cliquish crowd with over the top attitudes.

I’ve only been here for special events (a contest and GayBingo), so I can’t really speak to the place as a club per se. However, I will say that every bartender I’ve come across has been very good. Friendly, and generous with the pour.

S4 is all you expect it to be. and more!
You walk in and BOOM! Music is blasting, shirts appear to be optional, and occasionally there are people in full animal costumes dancing their lives away. Walk upstairs and participate/​watch the nightly drag show — very fun and entertaining.
Drinks are super cheap, there is never a line at the bar, and there is plenty of outdoor patio space for those willing to venture outside.
I have been a few times and will be back!

That’s right! You’re bound to have a good time up in good ol’ S4. Now, I’ve heard that it’s one of the best gay clubs in the country. and I can’t attest to that because I’ve only been in Honolulu (where the gay clubs are def lacking). But I will say that I can believe it! If it’s not the best, it’s definitely gotta be up there. It’s not entirely a gay crowd, it’s a pretty decent mix.
The place is gigantic! It can be super packed and you won’t feel it, which is great. With the exception of Halloween. it is CROWDED. But an amazing time and a great sight to see. The music is pretty decent, better on some nights than others. The technology of the place is pretty sweet. The drinks are… ehhh. But like I always say, if you can let me know of a night club where the drinks aren’t overpriced and watered down, I’ll give you… well nothing, but that’d be a pretty hard thing to find. The drag show in the Rose Room is pretty fantastic, but get there early!
Parking pretty much blows, but that’s Oak Lawn on Fri/​Sat. nights. Cover is usually about $ 6 for 21+ and I want to say $ 20 for 18+… but don’t quote me on that, not 100 on it. The bathrooms are pretty nasty, but that’s all clubs. They have the bathroom lady & all the crapola they bring, but again that’s about all clubs.
If you like to dance and have a good time… you’ll def love this place! And you don’t even have to try!
