Very delicious cakes and they do all kinds. brief review, but it’s all that needs to be said really, if you’re looking for a simple cake or deluxe for an event they do them all great, not to mentions the sweet breads. Location Isn’t ideal but it is a great spot for cake.

Vera’s has made our event cakes for the past 6 years. They always do a gorgeous, delicious job. And their prices are very reasonable. I recommend their whipped icing. Oh, and make sure to grab some churros while you’re there!

Man Oh Man. I just want to say when considering having a cake custom made, Veras is the place to go. Didn’t take them long to do and they deliver. I’m going to do two more with them this month. When considering a custom cake, not just anyone will do. Go to Veras! Max Jackson

I’ve been coming to Veras bakery for quite a while now. Their pan dulce is always fresh and delicious. Very inexpensive, you can walk out of there with a tray full of bread for $ 5-$ 6. Really a «hole in the wall» atmosphere but they have good friendly service. I havent tried their cakes so I can’t comment on their services there.

I came here for a tres Leches cake. Fantastic! Not only was it an excellent price but the quality was really great. Moist, tasty, fresh! Just what you would expect out of any tres Leches cake! My parents were very thrilled. Not to mention all the great fresh breads ready for purchase at all times.

Solid Mexican bakery… and oh-so cheap! I tried their sugar donuts, and they taste like the real deal(no cinnamon, as they’re done in Mexico). I also tried two types of croissants: plain and cream-cheese filled. Both yummy. I paid like $ 3 for 5 pieces of «pan dulce», which is crazy. I will definitely be back, and maybe have something in their sitting area. The conchas were a bit dry, though, but really good.

Went to the bakery today. Looked like 12 varieties of colored, sugar cookies on display at left. The bakery smelled of spoiled meat though, which was so bad we left without making a purchase. Anything that smells that bad can’t be good. The other reviews were great, but the scary smell made me decline to indulge. Sorry Vera’s.

This place is truly awesome, a great place to stop and grab some pan dulce(sweet breads — two words, important distinction from sweetbread — one word) for breakfast. You can buy a bag full of empanadas(hand pies) or conchas(sweet bread with a colorful sugar shell) or even donuts for a dozen co-workers extremely cheap but the quality is spot on. Always fresh and delicious, my sons and fiancée love the camote(sweet potato) ones. Each filling in the empanadas is shaped slightly different or topped with sugar to distinguish it. They also do cakes for special occasions my fiancée introduced me to this white cake they make with thinly sliced strawberries in between the two layers and shaved toasted almonds around the outside, it’s absolutely decadent.

What an amazing find! Typically, I have no reason to venture into Oak Cliff but we were downtown for a wedding and then headed out to Ft. Worth for Mother’s Day. I took advice from a friend and ordered a Tres Leches cake ahead of time… They were open on Sunday(BIGPLUS) and Vera’s personally delivered me to stardom in my in-law’s eyes. SCOREONEFORME! The cake was delicious. Vanilla with strawberries and oh so moist. At $ 35 for 15+ people, it won my heart. And we picked up some pastries for breakfast that were pretty tasty. I’m hungry just thinking about it…

A stone’s throw from Winnetka Heights and Kessler Park, this bakery has awesome croissants, and a great selection of well-made Mexican pan de dulce. Mexican bakeries are ubiquitous in North Oak Cliff, but this one shines. Try the croissants, empanadas(any flavor), and conchas.
