Elmer’s Diner

Food is insane. 3 multigrain pancakes, blueberry, banana, walnut (1 each, not topped) was so delicious that I couldn’t believe it was multi grain. I ordered a special omlet with farm fresh hot Italian sausage which made the omlet taste burst with flavor. Home fries were a bit bland but I threw some pepper on them and they were good.
Only issue we ran into was the payment. One person taking payments from 15 people. The line was insane. Definitely need to get 2 people to take payments and or get more credit card machines

The breakfast is amazing! A bit slow on Sunday mornings but it’s probably because it gets so packed. Had the Chicken Gyro today and loved it! Open 24 hours in Danbury which is a big plus! Friendly staff!

This place is my family’s and my favorite place. We have been going here since it first opened and they know what we order now. There has never been a time where they’ve gotten anything wrong or misplaced. Everyone is very nice including the owner, Elmer. We are happy to have this place around.

The Guatemalan breakfast is excellent, with unique flavors and wonderful seasoning. It is served with seasoned rice, Guatemalan beans and warmed tortillas.

We were in Danbury for a show, originally from middle of Connecticut. The food was awesome. We started off with the gravy fries really really good. Had a cup of chicken and rice soup and it was great and had stuff clams and stuffed mushrooms for dinner, very tasty. Service was quick and our waiter was very attentive. I can see us driving down to Danbury for the food again.

Great all around dining experience, for all meals of the day! I usually have breakfast here when I’m in the area. I’ve also come for dinner on many occasions and always left satisfied !
The food is always fresh and tastes good! Try the eggs florentine! The wait staff and chefs are consistent and know their stuff!
Most importantly the place looks clean, as does the equipment as well as the bathrooms.
Best of all this place is 24 hours!

The food was cold, the home fries tasted like chemicals, or perhaps something rancid. Right now I’m hoping not to get sick. I wouldn’t eat there again ever.
Elmer thank you for responding. I assure you my comments were not exaggerated. I am impressed with you response, and I respect the way you answer someone who had a bad experience. Thank you. Right now, I’m not ready to try it again, but perhaps in time I will stop by again.

I’m not sure why this place would have any good reviews on their food. Myself I’ve probably eaten there 2 – 3 times the past 2 years. The service is good. The last time I was there the food tasted like chemicals??? I met a friend today and ordered French onion soup. It wasn’t great. As soon as I got home I was sick. Just reminded of why I don’t eat there.

The service was ok. We came in really hungry. Ordered standard diner food mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce along with a Brazilian burger. My pregnant wife ordered a BLT. The food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t with the money. The waiter never checked on us until the bill.
Brazilian Burger-​was way undercooked and Burger was similar patty to a frozen box burger from stop and shop. Fries were very good.
Mozzarella sticks were awful. Marinara sauce was awful.
BLT– how do you mess this up… well by putting chewy thin microwave bacon on it.
I always saw this place with a bunch of cars in it but I now am perplexed even more. If you want a good place to eat and good diner food, head to JKs on south street. Much Better quality food and staff.

Good food and fast service. A lot of food. Think of sharing.

When I’m in the mood for good home cooked food, I hit up Elmer’s. The service is fast, but courteous. The menu selection is vast and the pricing good. Most importantly, the food is consistent. I have a few favorites and they are always prepared in the same manner no matter when I go.

My favorite diner in the area. My friends and I always come here. Staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and new, and the food is very good. They are open 24 hours also which is great. Not to mention their location is excellent. With something for everyone on the menu at an affordable price, you can’t go wrong!

Found this place by accident and the food is great staff is friendly price is reasonable the menu is unbelievable looking around I see plenty of things I would like to try and I will come back I recommend it to anyone

LOVE THIS PLACE! Sweetest workers in the world and the LARGEST menu I’ve ever seen in my life. They have food from all cultures and for all different times of day! The eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, cakes, and more are all amazing! Prices are so awesome for the amount of food you’re given too! Always look forward to going back!

This is our go to diner! My boyfriend loves the country fried steak for breakfast. One of the only places in the area that has it. Unfortunately it is on there specials menu and is not always offered. No matter when you go they get you in and out. Even on Father’s Day we only had a few minute wait for our table. At lunch and dinner time they give you a free macaroni and bean salad.

This is our go to late night dinner spot! Everything I’ve had here is always great. Be it banana pancakes, waffles, fries, huevos rancheros… Also tried the Tilapia veracruz/​shrimp veracruz… loved it… The frnech onion soup was delicious… You must try the cheesecake and the Tres leche cake… Its the best!!!

You never expect much from a typical diner, and that is what we usually get. The Elmer’s diner was a surprise.
We ate here three times last week and each time we were very happy.
Service is friendly, efficient and accurate.
The menu is extensive and the food very diverse.
The breakfast is awesome with very huge portions for a affordable price. Will keep going !!!

Literally the FASTEST service I’ve ever gotten at a diner. Always clean and food is always hot and delicious. They don’t care if you’re there at 1pm or 4 am you still get great service.

One of my favorite diners of all time. Try the huevos rancheros or mexican breakfast. Or if you are feeling bold, go for the Lauren special — coffee with cream and sugar.

I don’t know what some of these low reviews are talking about. Came here with the wife shortly after 11am but we both felt like breakfast foods. She ordered the Farmer’s Omelette and it was great! So big it covered the whole plate.
Afterwards we looked at the regular menu and the specials and not only was it extensive but the prices were so reasonable we almost wished we’d ordered lunch instead. Very good, attentive service.
Almost passed this by when we saw some of the reviews but glad we came!
