Great service!!! Valentina and Nikky are awesome!!! not much of a variety to the menu but everything is delicious, I guess do a few things really well is better than doing a lot of things wrong but I’d like to see more variety and maybe some specials!!!

Just recently went to Jays Bar because I had my wedding at the Crowne Plaza Danbury, and the food and service were outstanding. We got seated and given a menu. My first thought was that they were too cheap to keep the temperature of the place at a comfortable one… it was way too warm. I did ask the waiter to lower the temp on the AC. Don’t know if it ever was done, since it was warm throughout the meal. The menu was surprising in that the choices were very few and the prices were definitely on the high side. I ordered the flat iron steak that I chose as one of the entrees of my wedding, and the two other people ordered salads. The two salads were really good and fresh, but way over priced at $ 22 each. My flatiron steak tasted good and had a side of onion rings, but no potatoe or green veggies to be seen. That was way overpriced too! Do not think I will be going there again.

Very quite for a Friday and now I know why. While the pasta was good, it was not a Braised beef sauce as advertised. I had to ask for bread to go with the meal. Who ever heard of pasta being served w/o bread. Good but I think Rosie’s across the street would have been a better choice.

Had a scary experience in jay’s restaurant during our wedding after-party where a bartender accidentally shattered a glass directly into a bucket of ice(badly cutting her finger in the process) and did not bother to tell her two co-workers that the ice meant for beverages had come in contact with blood and broken glass. I stopped three of them(including the bartender who had broken the glass!!) from serving glass-laden ice to my friends and family and finally after 45 minutes and three inquiries they poured hot water into the ice to melt the ice and find the many glass shards. Seeing that made me very concerned about their food safety and sanitation practices. The bartender claimed to be too busy to address the issue, but the client to staff ratio was never higher than 10 to 1.

Probably more of a 3.5. Good restaurant, but lacking a little that would push it into a full 4 or five. Had the flatiron steak medium rare. A little tough, but without tenderizing you take your chances. And I’d rather have tough steak than tenderized… Tasted pretty good, but needed a little seasoning to bring it to life. Pretty sure it was a sirloin(although the server said it was rib eye. Definitely not rib eye), so the fat content was low, and it needs more help. House salad with balsamic dressing was good, and the onion rings were very good. Zero greasiness, good crunch, food onion flavour.

What a surprise! Here on a Friday night, was surprised to see how quiet and empty the restaurant was. Don’t let that deter you. Tap beers are fresh, my cosmopolitan was made well. But the food was above average for a hotel restaurant. The prices are higher, as expected, but they actually match the food you are served. I had a cheeseburger cooked medium rare, came out perfect. Got the salad instead of the fries. Fresh greens were served with a few tomatoes, shredded carrot, cucumber & olive and balsamic on the side. Also got the truffle fries. They are a must! My husband got the grilled cheese with tomato dip. He said it was great. Overall, this was a surprise, I was worried the food would be sub-par due to the lack of patrons… Not the case. Stop on and try them. Especially if you want a quiet place to chat with your dinner partner(s).

The pork chop was recommended and the recommendation was spot on. Attentive wait staff, good selection of beer(pass on the one legged Scotsman) and a French Whiskey to go with the lava cake. Attached to the Crowne Plaza this is an above average restaurant for the local as well as the business traveler.

After leaving feedback on here awhile ago, the manager Susie asked us to come back in to try Jay’s again. We are glad we did. The bartender/waitress was super friendly, she gave good suggestions and was very attentive. The food was very good. The problem we had the first time had little to do with the quality of the food and we were reminded how good it is here. We ordered cheesecake for dessert which was gamechanger good. The first time we came here we were disappointed. Susie and her staff went out of their way to make our trip back worthwhile and we’re glad she did! We’ll def be back.

Great atmosphere and Tony and Hilda behind the bar are great. My only complaint is that they need some better beers on tap. They are new, so I’ll give them some time to fine tune the operation. I did not eat here.

WOW! Delicious. Hilda our server was awesome! The Truffle Fries were unbelievable, a must. Also the wings, steak brushetta and Mac cheese were incredible. The dinning and Bar areas were very comfortable and inviting. Great service with local unique fare.

Jays Bar did not disappoint. Had a snack of shisito peppers when we arrived. Perfectly blistered and delicious. After the wedding we were visiting for, a big group of us went to Jay’s Bar. They accommodated our large group and the though the kitchen was closing, they opened it up for our large order. The burger I hear was delicious. The grilled cheese with three cheese’s(goat, Brie, and sharp cheddar) had everyone in-love at first bite. At breakfast the next day we all relived our grilled cheese experience. The bread, a ciabatta perfectly toasted so it was toasty but not painfully crunchy, was outstanding. The cheese’s were perfectly proportioned. The wings were delicious with a well balanced sweet, smoky, and spicy sauce. They also had a nice crunch from their bath in the fryer. The bread and butter is worth the $ 5.00 another reviewer complained about. You get some of that delicious bread with 3 different spreads, honey butter, some yummy pub cheese which is basically cream chz and beer, and a beet and blueberry jam, all yummy and a great appetizer. We were all happy with Jays overall. The one criticism I have is the bartenders are not very happy people. This was a unanimous observation over a couple days but the night we showed up with a big party the bartender seemed outright annoyed we were there. She had been there all day but why is she getting worked so much if she can’t handle it?

Since I was staying at the crowne plaza I thought I would try Jays. Big mistake. They charge 5 $ for bread. Menu choices extremely limited and service was spotty at best. Food was poor and even the drinks made me think they were substituting premium brands for house. That may be because the mixers were terrible. Lots of better choices nearby.

I can’t believe how nice this place is! I work seconds away in the Matrix Corporate Center so I’m psyched to have discovered what will definitely be my new fave spot for happy hour after a long day of work! The good: Despite the location inside a hotel, parking was a cinch, and the bar is easily reached through the main entrance. Jays Bar is sort of a misleading name — the place has the look and feel of a modern Manhattan restaurant. The furniture and overall décor is chic and comfortable. The bar is huge and overlooks an outdoor patio. There were about 8 beers on tap and I was blown away to find they had my new fave Summer Shandy. I had the 10th Floor Burger topped with a sunny side up egg, truffled roasted mushrooms, brie, and garlic mayo. It is rare to find truffled ANYTHING in Danbury — and the burger was a solid 10⁄10. My friend had the Jays Bar Burger with bacon, cheddar, grilled onion, and ranch sauce — he said it was great and especially liked the toasted bun. The bad: We were the only 2 there when we arrived — about 8 more people showed up by the time we left — so it definitely felt a little«dead». Be prepared to wait for food as there is probably just one chef cooking to order given the lack of guests. Overall — amazing atmosphere, trendy farm-to-table menu that delivers(at least on what we had), and good selection of beers. FYI — they are promoting happy hour deals weekdays 5:30 — 7:30 — ½ priced apps, $ 3 well and domestic drafts, $ 4 imported drafts, and $ 5 mixed drink specials. I can’t wait to go back with a group of coworkers!
