The sandwiches are very tastey even though a little over priced. When eating inside the restaurant it is a bit awkward since the owner will stand and watch you eat making it uncomfortable. He is very protective of his store it seems.

My family ran out to grab take out here for lunch one afternoon because it was right around the corner from where we were working on our new house. Hubs and my son got the number 4. Tom Turkey which had Turkey, Bacon and Swiss cheese on dutch crunch bread. They got me number 7. Hot ‘T’ sandwich is Hot Turkey, Melted Pepper Jack, Baja Sauce, and Cranberry Sauce on dutch crunch bread. And my son’s gf got the number 1. Summer Love sandwich which had Turkey, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Avocado, and Baja Sauce on dutch crunch bread. All sandwiches were made fresh to order and they come with a free cookie! They have 20 specialty sandwiches you can choose from their menu. 6 specialty salads to choose from and they all include: Diced Tomatoes, Diced Cucumbers, Bacon Bits, Croutons, Diced Cheddar, Red Onion and 4 dressings to choose from. 4 sides to choose from like cookie, dill pickle, potato salad and macaroni salad. A kids menu has 3 choices to choose form and they all include: Apple Sauce, Juice Box, Cookie, Kids Toy. If none of these work for you, you can build you’re own sandwich. They have 5 breads, 7 cheese types, 8 meat toppings, and 7 extras to choose from for your sandwich. Everything included on all sandwiches is: Mustard, Mayo, Garlic Sauce, Pickles, Tomato, Red Onions, Lettuce, and Pepperoncinis(unless you say otherwise). So it’s nice to have something from here when you want something just a little more then your regular old sandwich. And the beauty of all this, it’s affordable and delicious.

Mr. Pickles is so good! I always get the Mr. Pickle, ha ha, on Dutch Crunch, and it’s delicious! They have so many different sandwiches, and they all sound really good. Whatever you do, get your sandwich on Dutch Crunch, it’s the best bread! I’ve gotten their potato salad before, and it isn’t half bad either! The employees are super nice and you get a discount if you order ahead online! They do close earlier, so this isn’t the place to get a late dinner or midnight snack. I love how all the sandwiches come with a cookie, it’s a great way to end the meal!

When I think of sandwiches I just think of Safeway ones. Never been a fan of paying for something that I could probably make on my own but that’s where laziness comes in. I’ve always heard that Mr. Pickles was the spot for satisfying all your sandwich needs. Sorry not sorry but I just thought it was okay. Plenty of options so I went with the first one on the list because it sounded good and I was in a hurry. I picked the Summer Love which comes with turkey, avocado(I think?), red pepper hummus(amazing) and baja sauce(whatever that means). I also got everything on it, which is the standards lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppercinis, minus the mustard and mayo on Dutch crunch bread. Never get a sandwich without Dutch crunch, that’s my rule. My sandwich was finished by the time I was ready to pay. Paid nearly $ 10 for that darn sandwich. It came with a cookie but honestly that cookie was like a rock. While I did like my sandwich, it didn’t seem worth the price. It was so little! It was delicious I’ll give it that much, it just didn’t seem worth spending $ 10 when you could go elsewhere with those $ 10 and get a bigger meal. Solid place to get a sandwich but not worth it to me.

+ THEFOOD My #1 go to for sandwiches in Davis!!! This place is so bomb good. I usually get their Mrs. Pickle’s sandwich or build my own. Dutch crunch bread is the way to go. They give generous portions of meat so you get your money’s worth. Always get all the toppings, especially the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce isn’t as strong as other places, so I like to ask for more of it. You also get a free chocolate chip cookie with your order. + THEPRICES Pretty worth it! A sandwich is around $ 7 – 8. There’s also a 10% discount if you order it online and pick up in store. I love this option because I can order it wherever I am and set the pick up time to whenever I am ready to swing by.

The sandwiches are so good! And they come with a free cookie, which is also good. Especially since it’s free. I love the L’Michele. Cranberry and turkey combinations always remind me of Thanksgiving, which is never a bad thing. And the BLAT! Because you can’t go wrong with bacon and avocado. If you order online, they have a 10% discount on your order! And if you plan on coming back, don’t forget to ask for a stamp card!

I kind of wish Mr. Pickle’s opened up when I was in college as this place would have been walking distance from my apartment. Well, maybe that was a blessing in disguise as I probably would have gained a few extra lbs eating here so much. The food is good and always hits the spot if you are craving a sandwich. I always stick with the dutch crunch as my bread, but I usually rotate between the fillings every time I come here. The free cookie is always a nice way to end your meal!

Awesome, delicious, and affordable place to grab a bite! In all seriousness, if you decide to come here… Make sure to get your sandwich on their dutch crunch bread! It has the perfect toasty-ness and buttery-ness! Anyways, all their sandwiches come with standard ingredients i. e lettuce, pickles, and etc. I decided to opt’d in for one of their specialty sandwiches; the Hot T($ 9), which had turkey, melted pepper jack, baja sauce, and cranberry sauce. It. Was. So. GOOD. Every bite was worth the calories. You even also have the option to customize and build your own sandwich if you prefer. They had a lot of other things on their menu but I didn’t get to try em. Every order comes with a free chocolate chip cookie too! The cookie was soft, gooey, and delicious too! Definitely looking forward to trying other items on the menu whenever I’m back in Davis :)

I’ve had Mr. Pickles several occasions before, at parties or just for a quick lunch, and it has never disappoint. This time I actually remembered to check in and leave a review on it. After much deliberation, I got the Hot T, which is a hot sandwich with turkey, monterey jack, and cranberry sauce on the bottom. It also comes with a cookie! The sandwich was really good, and it was less than 600 calories. They really do not skimp on the amount of turkey and the lady making my sandwich was very accommodating when I said I wanted extra extra pickles. That makes me super happy. Another thing was that I took it to-go and didn’t eat it until maybe half an hour later, but when I opened it, it wasn’t super soggy and was still delicious. So, overall, pretty good sandwich place. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the price, which is a tad-bit expensive. Well, it’s expensive when I think about $ 5 footlongs. But Mr. Pickles’ portion does get me full though. Frankly, yes the sandwich was good, it wasn’t THAT amazingly delicious that it offset the price. But I would still come here again if I’m craving a quality sandwich.

Ordered a Manhattan: Hot pastrami with Swiss on sour dough Roll. Loved the 1st half of sandwich and filled me up. Pretty Good! Wish the pastrami was juicier and not dry.

The sandwiches may be good, but I ordered a club salad and was not impressed. The gourmet salads are cheaper and better at McD’s.

Best sandwiches around. Dutch crunch. I’m an average eater and one sandwich gets me two meals. Side note: Oddly enough they never give you enough pickles, even if you ask for extra. Pretty much every site I’ve been to has done this. Not a deal breaker, but interesting phenomenon. You’re weird about pickles… Mr Pickle.

Amazing sandwiches! I eat here a lot and I’m picky about sandwiches. Their ingredients are always fresh and taste amazing. All of the bread is good, but Dutch crunch is my favorite! I love that I see the owner in there every day working right along side his employees. Highly recommended!

This will always be my go-to place for a sandwich. It is more than $ 5 but the quality of it is worth so much more. A husband and wife duo runs this Mr. Pickles and they’re the sweetest people ever! For the place itself, the décor is adorable with little pickles lining the wall and beautiful pieces of art around the place. The tables are always clean and the place just smells amazing from the bread baking in the ovens. Best part of getting a sandwich here is that it comes with a free chocolate chip cookie. It’s freshly baked everyday day in the shop! When you first walk in, you’ll always be warmly greeted by the employees. Most of them are students but their service exceeds many other places that I’ve been to. They have so many interesting sandwiches with adorable names. The most popular one is the #13, Mr. Pickles. My favorite is the #7, the Hot T, tastes just like Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich. You also have the option of customizing a sandwich if none of the ones on the board floats your boat. With each order, you can have your choice of bread or even having it on a wrap. My go-to bread is the Dutch Crunch, super crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The sourdough is also awesome(… as well as the wheat and the sweet). It’s always so hard to choose! If you don’t like a certain cheese or meat on a sandwich, you can always substitute it for something else. One of the sauces, the Baja sauce… made in-house and it’s literally the best thing ever. I would always want it in my sandwich or even my salad(it works on everything). Best part, the avocados used in the sandwiches are actual whole pieces of avocados cut on the spot for prime freshness. They now have a pickle point system where you can use your phone number and accumulate points to get a free sandwich later on :] I can always expect to get an amazing sandwich and great service. Just one half of a sandwich can fill me right up since it’s packed full of meat, cheese and vegetables. For catering, they do so many from single tray orders to giant lunches for a sport team. A tray is put together beautifully and can still fill you right up. If you order online, you can save 10% off your order and skip the line. Even if you just go in during a rush, you can always expect fast service as everyone is so proficient(and with a huge smile). Final Thoughts: If I ever hear a sandwich joke from any one(or a guy), he/she will be directed here to get his/her own sandwich.

I will drive across town for a good pre-made sandwich. I enjoy Subway for customizing and making my own sandwiches, but I actually really enjoy the sandwich selections that they have here at Mr. Pickles. A lot of hot sandwich selections, but my personally favorites are the BLT and BLAT. Sorry I know, typical and boring but I feel I get a good amount of bacon and avocado. I’ve been to places that just stuff it with lettuce. I love getting all the sandwiches on a sour dough roll, it’s the perfect size and texture, like not super hard/rubbery and hard to eat like some places. Every sandwich comes with a free cookie! I’ve had sandwiches with pastrami and roast beef and they give you a good chunk of meat too! I’ve also noticed that a lot of their sandwiches have cream cheese in it, which is actually quite interesting, but surprisingly delish!

It used to be Sam’s, but now Mr. Pickle’s has become my bf’s go-to place for lunch, and I agree! Some faves: Hot Eddy, Golden Gate, and surprisingly Hang Loose(I usually only like cream cheese on my bagels…) but really any of their specialties won’t disappoint as long as you get over that you’re paying $ 8 for a sandwich. The cookie helped me accept that. Me and their online ordering have a love-hate relationship… but I’ll do the annoying thing to save that dollah(gas money!) It really doesn’t help you save time, and it’s happened before that ordering in person is just faster because online orders are delayed if it’s busy. Also, just suck it up and get everything on the Dutch Crunch. It hurts so gooooood.

Oh gosh, I think I can ALWAYS go for a Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich. I am yet to be disappointed by this location. My sandwiches have always been consistently AMAZING since day one! I usually buy their special of the day which typically includes a drink and bag of chips for ~$ 8.50. What a deal! Even if you don’t do the special, you always get a FREE freshly baked chocolate chip cookie with your sandwich! How the heck can you go wrong? The staff is mostly college students, and they do a great job of always welcoming you as soon as you walk in, and attending customers promptly.(Especially during busy lunch hours!) The best sandwich I’ve had yet is SUMMERLOVE! It was featured as a special last time I came in, and I was told it will be on their menu soon!

Warning***the Dutch Crunch will scrape the shit out of your mouth***Warning I seriously thought about dropping a star because of the pain that comes with scrapping the roof of your mouth on their dutch crunch bread, but their free cookie won me back. I mean seriously, when given your choice of breads, the name«dutch crunch» sounds appealing; you are reminded of a lovely maid in the Swiss hills, taking ground wheat from a windmill and making a lovely loaf of bread. Now, dont get me wrong, it is delicious, but I dare you to eat a dutch crust sandwich without destroying your mouth. ____________________________________________________________________– Now that that is out of the way, we can head on to the actual review. I placed an order for 11 sandwiches online. It was really simple, and saved me a couple bucks. If you have a large order, I highly recommend doing this, as Mr. Pickles can get really busy during lunch hours. When I arrived to pick up the order, there was almost a line out the door. The friendly manager(owner)? told me it was going to be a while, and I said no problem. After 5 minutes, he offered me a fountain drink, which was super nice! As for the actual food, they sure know how to make a good sandwich. I got the hang loose on sourdough, and it was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and they didnt skimp on the meat. Also, all the sandwiches are fairly healthy, being around 550 calories, except for the BLAT, which is 1100. BLAT, probably named after the sound you make hitting the floor after your heart attack. All in all a solid establishment that should find success in Davis!

Sandwiches! I’m a huge fan of sandwiches and since there aren’t that many good sandwich places in Davis compared to Sacramento then I have to suffice to Mr. Pickle’s. Though the sandwiches here can be a bit pricey($ 7-$ 8), I think it’s worth it for what you get. Plus, you also get a free cookie worth it! I suggest ordering your sandwich online because you get 10% off which basically saves you tax :) Whether it’s online or in person, you can also customize your sandwich as well here. I’ve had the Mr. Pickle, Hang Loose, Reuben, Le’ Michele, and a few others to try and they were all very scrumptious depending on what meat you like and how you customize it :) As for their bread, the most popular and one of my favorites is the Dutch Crunch. I stopped eating that because it started hurting the roof of my mouth and it’s not as healthy as wheat bread, sweet roll, or the variety of wraps they have to offer. Though if you don’t care so much about calories then I suggest you get the Dutch Crunch! :) Staff here is really nice especially the manager here. I warn you though that it gets really busy during lunch hours since a lot of people want sandwiches during their breaks: P Be on the lookout for some of their deals. I remember one time for their one year anniversary that they were selling all sandwiches for only $ 5! What a deal!
