Cleanliness, breakfast and service was what I’ve come to expect from Hampton. WiFi dropped as soon as I entered my room. It was weird, I could get a strong signal just outside the room but it dropped like a rock as soon as I entered the room. Frondesk tried their best to help but it was an AT&T problem. Hopefully they will get it fixed.

I travel to Decatur, AL frequently for business and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else! Tom and Paris always take great care of me — they know the true meaning of customer service. Very personable and thoughtful — they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Thank you Tom — Thank You Paris! You Guys Rock!

The staff here is so amazingly friendly and helpful. In a city with limited options I half expect rude staff. That is not the case here. The gentleman checking us quickly felt like an old friend. If you are staying in Decatur then this is the place to stay.

I arrived at the hotel only to be told that it was overbooked and they had moved me to another hotel without informing me. That other hotel was a smoking facility, and I already had determined that I would not stay there for that reason. When I expressed my irritation over the ordeal, a hotel employee looked at me as if I was a complete moron and asked«where are you from anyway?» and then said this is a frequent occurrence in the hotel business. Not in my experience, it’s not. Thumbs down, Hampton Inn.

If you’re staying in Decatur, this is the only game in town in my opinion. We’ve tried out virtually EVERY major brand and one minor brand in the city, and this is the only place worth staying anywhere. In fact, it’s one of the nicest Hamptons I’ve ever stayed in. In 2012 – 2013, it went through a massive remodel. While the outside looks similar to the old, classic Hampton, the inside is amazing. They have redone every inch of this place. The lobby, the rooms, the hallways, the elevator lounge, the pool, the gym… all are new. I’m huge on odor. If it smells even remotely stale or stinky, I can’t stay. This place scores a 10 out of 10 on the Brian-o-meter of Olifactorism. The staff is nice and accommodating. It’s as convenient as any other hotel in the area. It shares a parking lot with an Applebees, Logans is across the street and the mall is about ½ mile away.

Positives: — Very friendly and accommodating front desk staff– Tom always greets me by name! — Decent breakfast– love the«grab and go» but the apples are always a little questionable — Proximity to restaurants– very close to many of the chain restaurants on Beltline Rd and only a few steps from Applebee’s — Newly renovated rooms Negatives: — Not too sure about the heating/cooling system– They are older units but controlled by a thermostat on the wall. For some reason, it always shuts off before getting to the desired/set heat — Elevators– there are two elevators. One makes a horrible grinding noise when opening and closing but the other physically shakes when going up to the 4th floor. This is concerning and I wonder how safe it is Experience: I have stayed here during the week for over a month on business. It is a pretty standard Hampton Inn. They recently renovated and everything is new which is very nice. Large, flat screen TVs and great pillows! Most of the front desk staff is very nice and greets you with a smile. If you have a problem with elevators, I would definitely suggest taking the stairs regardless of what level you are on, because these elevators shake and are terrifying when going up to the top floors. TIP: if you go to the Applebee’s next door, tell them you are staying at this hotel and you will receive a 10% discount.

I’d really give it 2.5 Stars… they are doing a renovation… it is severely outdated, my main complaint is the reception on the TV’s is NOT Hi-Def even though they do have LCDTV’s, and some of the channels are very fuzzy… also, and this goes for any Hampton Inn, the breakfasts are just subpar… you would expect a Hilton property to have better breakfasts… to me, it is like a Super 8 breakfast on steroids… staff is very friendly.

They are in the middle of a major renovation. The breakfast area was closed off and they were using a small meeting room as the breakfast room. It was fair. All the first floor rooms were closed so we had to settle for the second floor. Just a mediocre stay.

Very nice friendly Hampton Inn. We got in at a reasonable time in the evening and they had food, drinks and cookies down in the breakfast area and it was a really nice snack after traveling all day. The people checking us in were also very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very nice and updated as well. The only complaint I would have for it would be the internet connection. While its nice that it is free it was a little slow. I was having a hard time getting into my work email and downloading any attachments that had any size to them. However it is a very nice hotel and I would recommend it to anyone traveling through.
