Thanks for a wonderful breakfast and great service! Definitely try whatever type of hash they’re offering and say hi to the owner, he’s a great guy!

Stopped in for some lunch, place looked like your standard small café. Ordered some sandwiches, they were pretty good, nothing on the menu looked incredible, just standard solid food. Waitress wasn’t around too much even though we were the only ones there, but we didn’t go too too long without a check in. Only downside was because it was so small, the drink refills were extra. I get it, but a heads up would’ve been appreciated. Overall I’d come back again for lunch when I’m in the area.

Yup, 5 stars on my return visit. We took a chance on a busy Sunday morning and were able to find a spot inside where it was nicely air conditioned. Within seconds, we were seated and quickly offered a coffee. Must have gotten in at just the right time because soon enough there were no more tables available. I had the special sausage hash and cheese omelet with home fries and toast. Wish I had a picture– it was huge! Fresh and delicious! The portions are very large– probably enough to share. The table next to us had pancakes and they were mostly blueberries… the lady could not finish. Everything looked good! Service was outstanding! Glad we found another nice local diner.

Predictable diner food: not a problem, especially at a decent price. Diners are their own genre not to be confused with gourmet dining. My friends egg and tomato omelette was runny and undercooked. She just picked around the«wet bits» against her better judgement, we seriously should have sent the food back. I only had an English muffin, and I was fine! I called the owner/chef who had cooked the meal to tell him what happened. After I promised him that we weren’t trying to sue him, he apologized and asked me to give this place another shot. He seemed genuinely shocked and I really just wanted to caution him to be more careful. So I wouldn’t say don’t eat here, but in general my rating is for lack of attention to detail in serving simple food it really needs to be cooked properly

The service is excellent! My eggs Benedict were specially cooked by George the owner who handled it with full detail. This was by far one of the best eggs Benedict I have ever had! It’s an amazing breakfast place on a cute corner in Deep River. They are only open till 1pm. And are open 7 days a week. I highly recommend this as one of the best dinners in CT.

I’m a breakfast person — I could eat breakfast any time of the day. Hally Jo’s is our go to place for breakfast food. So delicious and not overly complicated. Their corned beef hash is out of this world — literally, I’ve never had better. The service is good and the people are very friendly.

A pretty average diner experience. The menu is small and the specials are alright. The environment is clean. Service left something to be desired. Might have been an off day. Would b willing to try it again but it’snot my favorite.

Stopped in early for breakfast. Service was quick. I was the only customer. Shortly there was a second. The food is what you would expect from your local diner. Nothing extraordinary but good. I had an omelet. The coffee was good and hot and I would have liked more but the waitress did not return after serving the food. Not until the 3rd customer came in and I had been done for a few minutes. I won’t be going back since there are many options in the area.

Good food and reasonably priced! I had the eggs Benedict special, my bf had an omelet. Both included homefries and a generous portion. The menu wasn’t extremely diverse, but they had the breakfast essentials and made them well. Service was friendly and fast. We will definitely be back!

Small, but sometimes good things come in small packages. Went here after a night on the town and it was just what i needed to spring back to life. Good food, good service, and good spot. Will be back if in area again.

I love me some breakfast. So does everyone else. Find me a person who doesn’t love breakfast and I’ll show you a person who likely cannot consume breakfast because of medical reasons. So, those poor souls aside, breakfast. A bunch of us were in town for a wedding, and in search of something beyond the continental offerings of the hotel. We tried to other places first. One was closed, the other was at capacity. Then we found Hally Jo’s. It was also full, but there was only a short wait before we were face deep in breakfast deliciousness. Service was quick. I had the scramble special, which was breakfast sausage, home fries, and scrambled eggs with cheese. It was perfection. As was the coffee which was refilled promptly at Reservoir Dogs-esque frequency.
