Been to this place once before for their late night and thought I’d give it another shot but same experience both times — Music is trash. Service is trash. Attracts the most rude/snobby people. If you’re into that kind of crowd then this place is just for you. And bartenders NEED to step it up because they definitely seem like they don’t wanna be there. Put on a face on or quit the damn job. Their attitude kills it. And it’s nearly impossible to dance/move when the lines are so backed up for drinks. You’re either frustrated trying to find space or that one person not caring bumping into everyone and their mom dancing. Easy set up for confrontation but someone just needs to open another late night bar in this area.

This bar is a joke and VERYRUDE! From the servers to the bar tender. They treated us like we were Inconveniencing them and they didn’t want us at their establishment. Let me remind you I suggested this again to 40 of my co workers whom were all disappointed with how the staff treated us. The best thing about this place is the security. At least they are still human and treat people with respect. Every year I come for the month of June with 40 – 60 co workers and every year it’s the same rude staff. This was the LAST time we will visit this establishment. It’s a shame too because we spend an average of $ 100 per person in a two hour period, after work for June. You just lost yourself $ 10,000-$ 20,000 if not way more, due to poor service and pre judging people. We work our tails off all summer and excuse me if we didn’t roll in with a Maserati but bet we will tip more because we understand and appreciate the service industry. The owner needs to have a serious talk with his staff. If 20 of us come in, learn how to dance with the music being played. We are very patient and understand there is a lot of us, but treating us like crap because you can’t handle to make more than 5 drinks at a time is NOEXCUSE.

Jimmy-O’s is a decent sports bar located right in the heart of Del Mar and actually gets relatively crowded on Friday/Saturday nights. This place is essentially a restaurant by day and pseudo nightspot on Thursday-Saturday night complete with DJ and full bar. The food here during the day is pretty much just average bar fare, nothing spectacular. By night, the drinks served are rather stiff and the bartenders are extremely busy yet still somewhat friendly. Overall, not my first choice but it is literally one of only a handful of nightspots in Del Mar. Pros– Location Full bar Pretty good size Good music Full food menu Friendly staff Cons– Gets really crowded Terrible parking Getting a drink can be rough Greasy food

The Unilocal 2-star description is perfectly applicable: Meh, I’ve experienced better. Service OK. Food between disappointing and OK. Not worth the Del Mar prices. Will no longer go out of my way to go there to watch a game and have a bite to eat. The best thing is all the TVs they have. There are better places for food, sports and both within close proximity. Actually, for food, much better places in very close proximity… on the same street.

My go to place for a good drink and good company with friends. Close to home. This is the place to go for a good hang out on a Friday night or for a birthday outing. Easier parking at night time than in the day time.

Spent some time in Del Mar on vacation during the NHL playoffs and came here 3 nights in a row to watch. Loved it! Some of the nicest staff I’ve met, tons of TVs, and good food and beer.

This is a great place to go for taco Tuesday! They have $ 3 tacos with a choice of chicken, beef or fish. I had one beef and one fish and it was more than enough food. Great value for quality food! Additionally, there’s a nice atmosphere and friendly staff every time.

Waitress was so rude we left. Other patrons asked why we were leaving and I said because of rude service and they said she was rude to them too. She didn’t say hello, she watched us sit and she went and helped other patron who sat down after us. Then ten minutes went by, so we left. Went across the street and waitstaff at burger joint said they got same baditude when they tried to eat there. How does this person work here? Also, very drunk patrons(we were there to eat but it doubles as a sports bar) had dogs tied to same chair outside. The dogs were there for hours according to people there, and they jumped and dragged chair around outside, it was just sad.

I love the atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday night. And the blackened chicken wings are amazing!

This place is a really nice place to go to. BUT the waitresses are a hit and miss in terms of service. The tall blonde and the Filipino girl are always the best. The owner is super rad. But the bar needs to ALWAYS have the Padres game. We are regulars, and sometimes they have women’s tennis instead of the Padres game. Um.what. But the Bean and Cheese burritos are to DIE for. It’s on the kids menu and you need to try it.

You have to ask yourself, «why am I here?». It’s not for the food, it’s probably not for the people(unless you cougar hunt and in that case cucina is down the street). The obvious answer it is the only late bar in Del Mar and there’s nothing else in north county that is open late with the exception of the few even divier places. Few positive points: music is good, drinks are decent.

I walk by this place all the time, but it is only my second time going inside. The first time was for a friend’s birthday party at night, and in between many shots and margaritas, I can’t pretend that I remembered much except for the fact that I had fun. So, this time, we decided to try the food. I started with a Pacific Classic, or a margarita, Jimmy o’s has a nice selection of mixed drinks for less than 10 bucks each. Most of the drinks I recognized, but their names were changed to protect the innocent ;) The chips and salsa were very good, and the ahi appetizer was absolutely amazing! I also really liked the lobster bisque although the waitress warned me that some feel it is too salty. After a few salads,(the strawberry fields is awesome) and some French fries, we were stuffed, but we’ll be back to try more! The patio is also dog friendly!

We walked over not knowing what we were in for. Then we met Jenna and had the ahi tower/Napoleon. Fantastic! Huge pieces if tuna and a sauce to die for. Very tasty. Our daughter joined us and had the western cheeseburger with tator tots and again, holy you know what!!! Perfect! Big pours and outside seating! Loved it! Ok, Jenna made it nice!

This is a special place for my husband and I. We came here the first day we met on July 3, 2007 and developed a friendship that night. Since then, we come back almost every year on July 3 to hang out with friends or by ourselves, have dinner and drinks and feel grateful to have each other. So even though there are some things I don’t love about this place, I have to give it at least 4 stars. We were there a few nights ago and had a nice dinner. We were able to snag a booth which is nice because its more comfortable than the tables. A lot of the booths are not in the best shape, however. Ours was ripping on one side so we had to snuggle in close on the non-ripped side. Our waitress was really nice and very attentive. We ordered our drinks and they came out fast. We ordered dinner and my ahi tuna appetizer arrived with wasabi dressing on it. They change their menu from time to time and the last time I ordered this, there was no wasabi dressing. I felt bad complaining about it, but she took it back and they made another one without the dressing. It was delicious! We ordered another round of drinks and our waitress was very helpful with suggestions for a cocktail. Other pros: Great place to watch sports(lots of TVs!). Great place for dancing on the weekends. They move the tables and voila! a dance floor! Cons: Cougars, although this makes for great people watching!

Visited this bar a few times and had so so experiences. The drinks are good, but it always feels like there is a huge amount of staff always walking around. To my amazement this has not correlated to better service. It’s the best bar in Del Mar, but wouldn’t last anywhere else. Excellent location right between the plaza and the beach.

It turns into a club at night! At least that Saturday night when I was there. They had a DJ playing pop music. Since there is not much night life in Del Mar, so it’s nice to check out Jimmy O’s if it is your hood. The crowd is interesting, definitely younger than that at Club M. Beer selections are decent, they have my favorite Sculpin IPA on tap. Food, well it’s really not a place for foodie, just typical bar food. That means you can get a small bite after a few drinks there. I got some chicken nachos and it was edible. Sports bar I guess? With around 5, 6 large TVs are the bar. Yeah, go there for a drink after an oceanview dinner in Del Mar.

All the times I have been here it has been a goof experience… Last time was during a game time and the inside seatings were all full… This time we got inside seats… I had the pleasure of getting the same server from last time and was shocked to see even after almost 4 months since my last visit, she remembered me… Rachel is a really amicable server always with a jovial smile… With her around, it just seems quite easy for you to judge on dishes… They have some worth noting varieties of ciders… If you do like them, you should check it out… This time we had the fish and chips and the veg pasta with onion rings and sweet potato fries on the table… Pasta as last time was great… Both onion rings and the sweet potato fries were superb and I recommend that as a must have when you come here…
