I love text Mex Food, it’s one of my favorites. This restaurant I Give It 2 Stars because the salsa is pretty good I like warm salsa but you have to order it with chips and salsa, it’s not free like it is in a lot of Mexican restaurants. We order the tacos with beef with rice and beans it was just OK flavor was kind of bland

My family(party of 5) & I went to dinner here on a Saturday night. We stood at the door for awhile before I finally stopped one of the bus girls? Waitress? Not sure what she was & asked if we sat ourselves or if someone would find us a table. She than informed us that you ordered at the counter & sat yourself. No greeting whatsoever. We ordered, got our own drinks at the fountain machine. By the table we made our way to our table, food was ready! BIGNO, NO. That just tells me the food was already prepared. Some of our plates were hot, like my enchiladas. Some were cold, like our fajitas. Then top it off, the bar was chained off. I couldn’t even order a cold beer!

Good food! 3.5 stars really. Counter service, lots of selection. Carne asada big portions — chips and salsa ok, but was glad to have room for dinner and not fill up on chips. Green chicken enchiladas very good. Other food slightly bland. Good beans :). Fun store with candies and goodies from Mexico.

I’m a native Texan who loves Tex-Mex, and the food in this joint was practically offensive. Good lord this place is horrible. Pay before you eat style restaurant with lazy staff. We ordered 1 lb of fajitas assuming it would come with the basic sides that you get literally anywhere else you order fajitas(pico, guac, etc) but apparently not! We had to order tortillas separate, and the meat came out dry and tough, mixed with green pepper chunks and a little bit of onion though it appeared they were not actually cooked together as is usual for fajitas. Salsa was very watery. I asked for a side of shredded cheese for my dry, awful fajitas and it was never brought to me. Completely and utterly overpriced. Will not be returning.

Stopped by for dinner based on several reviews. This is a «order at the counter» restaurant with table delivery. My meal was brought out 5 minutes before my husbands, didn’t like that! Food was ok as was the service. Over all«just ok». Won’t return.

Wow. A friend recommended this restaurant. Hubby and I were literally stuck in Del Rio so we tried it out. I had the tacos, and he had the enchiladas. The food was ultra fast and fresh. We are not normally big on eating the rice and refried beans. This was actually the first time I finished both. Extremely delicious and so fresh. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food.

Ate their Taco special on Monday $ 3.99 for 4 beef tacos. I don’t usually order tacos, but I decided to try them today. On my first bite, I said these are very, very good. My husband agreed. The seasoning was perfect, the tomato was firm, the lettuce was fresh and the red tortilla was crisp. The service was good. We will go back.

Good average food. Fast and basic staple. People are way to picky to trash this place. The prices are $ not $$. The waitress are 5 star — they are on top of everything and make sure you are taken care of. They constantly clean too. Very impressed. Reminds me of places south of the border.

First time made a mistake. Did not check Unilocal instead trusted on local. Bland food, old school business style. Charge extra for chips and salsa and taste like fast food or even worse. Great people but lost the basic principle of restaurant. Go to sonic instead, right across, you would know what you gonna get there. Sorry!

Some of the best enchiladas ever! You order like your at McDonald’s but it’s cool. No waiter, no tip and some of the best grub you ever ate!

Actually no stars — this meal was one of the worst Mexican food meals I have eaten in a lifetime of eating Telmex — all grease no flavor. Even the green salsa was awful.

What a mistake it was coming to this place. It was 8pm on a Sunday night, so I felt like there weren’t a lot of options open in Del Rio, so it was pretty much this or Taco Bell. I wish I had gone to Taco Bell. First, you order at the counter and pay, then sit down and a waitress brings the food. I don’t particularly like this system since you either have to guess at a tip beforehand or have cash for your waitress, and I almost never have cash. We were served by two different waitresses. The first one just set our food down and didn’t say a word to us. I wish she had warned me that the plate was searing hot! I felt like I burned my fingers when I tried to turn my plate, which was weird, since the enchiladas on top were only lukewarm. Second, I felt like they skimped on a lot. The enchilada sauce tastes weird, there wasn’t much cheese in my enchiladas and when we asked for extra tortillas, they said they were 35 cents each! And no chips and salsa. Lame. The only reason I gave this two stars instead of one is because my husband’s short ribs came out pretty good.

This place is a has been at best. Over the years, the quality of the food has declined to the point that when I see the Don Marcelino’s sign one word comes to mind — manteca(lard). Only people who do not know what Mexican cuisine is supposed to taste like find this place appealing. It’s so ironic that I get better Mexican food in Houston than anywhere in Del Rio which is a border city. Such an irony and disappointment.

This place WAS legendary! It has become mediocre at best. DONOT order food to go here. They cut every possible corner and the presentation and quality fail miserably.

The menu is plentiful and even has picture on the wall to help your choices. Beer was cold. Food was hot. I ordered Carne asada. It was really tasty when it was fresh to the table but with a few minutes, as it cooled off, the taste dissipated. Ok but probably wouldn’t return.

The first time my boyfriend and I went here we both got the #9, the Mexican plate I believe, and it tasted good. We also got the chips and salsa the first time and it was more like a tomato soup than salsa. We went there again tonight for dinner and ordered the #9 again and it was awful. The sauce was burnt and everything was extremely greasy. We also ordered some tortillas and they were bad as well. They were very thin, hard, and smelt like they were rubbed on an armpit or were made with bad ingredients. It’s safe to say we won’t be coming here again.
