Get the chicken fajita plate or the super burrito. Both are amazing. They are so good I’m afraid to try anything else. The service is slow and inattentive but Poncho is an awesome guy and the tres leches is freaking delicious! We will be coming back often.

Went there last night with a group of 6 and none of us were happy with our food. I got a taco plate, my rice was clumpy(clearly reheated) the beans were alright, and the meat in my tacos were undercooked. Three others in our group got tacos tapatios, they were really dry with barely any cream on them. Another person in our group got food she ended up returning, saying it looked like dog food and didn’t taste much better. Service was alright. I’m not sure why it took so long to bring food out when it was almost empty. I don’t know why people are saying this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Del Rio, I completely disagree.

I got a carne asada lunch special on Saturday. It was burnt on one side and like leather. There were three of us at the table and they charged us extra for more than one basket of chips. The absurd thing is that if each one of us had been sitting at separate tables we would have gotten three baskets of chips for free, but because we were at one table we got charged for two out of three baskets and chips, because they say it is only one basket per table. That fact alone is enough to make me not want to go back. This reflects the low mental abilities and reasoning skills of the person that owns this restaurant. The service reflects the close proximity to Mexico, that is it sucks as much as you can possibly imagine. It is as close as you can get to no service without actually having none. They think it is more important to fill up napkins and salt and pepper shakers than it is to wait on tables. And they don’t care about feedback either, which is also typical.

Food is on par with just about all other Mexican food we have had in Del Rio. Nothing special, just OK tasting food. Seating was adequate and employees were pleasant.

Wasn’t impressed. The chips tasted stale, though the salsa was pretty good and spicy. Ordered the tacos al pastor which came with rice and frijoles(refried beans). You do get a lot of food for only $ 8. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with the tacos al pastor either. The corn tortilla wasn’t very good, and even though you get a lot of meat, the al pastor was average. A good tortilla might have changed the rating(maybe flour tortillas are handmade?). The food did come out quick and the staff is very accommodating. You do get a lot for what you pay, but the food needs to be better.

Went here two weeks ago and ordered a fajita salad. Ended up biting into something very hard(rock or bone??). Left thinking it would get better but it has slowly gotten worse. Went to dentist and need a root canal and crown because at least one tooth is cracked. May possibly need two. Called and spoke with Poncho to let them know and all he said was thanks for letting me know. Absolutely no offer for help whatsoever. So that salad is going to cost me anywhere from $ 900-$ 1800. NEVERGOINGTHEREAGAIN. I wouldn’t even give them one star but it won’t post my review unless I give at least one. Be warned.

Food was not that great. The enchiladas were greasy. Service was very slow and we had to get up in order to get a check.

Really good American breakfast(for Del Rio). Pancakes, eggs, bacon, all that stuff is real good. The Mexican food is so-so. Just a bit better than your standard Del Rio Mexican. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to get fresh ingredients and a recipe that tastes good. Like anywhere else in Del Rio, your money is better spent buying the ingredients at HEB and making it at home.

Went twice once for lunch, later in the month for dinner. Both times was seated fairly quick and the waiter was prompt/professional. The dinner was ordered from the menu and was on the table in less than 10 minutes. Food was tasty, hot and for me looked good; very important. At lunch I went for the buffet and the food was plentiful and the buffett looked professional and not picked over. Overall, a good visit both times.

Great mexican food, though very mild. Reasonably priced considering the amount of food you get. Fast, efficient service from a hole-in-the-wall place as opposed to some chain restaurant. Get the enchiladas… delish!

Poncho’s is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Del Rio — I always order from the kids’ menu and STILL get my fill. It’s nice that they renovated the place to fit more customers, but they need a better parking lot.

excellent food for Del Rio. I heard a lot of people talk about this place as being the best mexican food in town, and it clearly was the best. All the locals go there, so you know it is good. their servings are large, the service is great, and the price is just right. I like going there and getting the daily specials, all of which taste amazing. Go there on Wed for Fajita plates, they are the best. Chile Relleno’s on Friday too…
