The 3 piece dark with 2 sides is the bomb! And the enchiladas are soo good. My mom makes true Mexican enchiladas by roasting the chiles on an open flame, then de-seeding the 3 varieties of chiles by hand, mashing them with something called a «morcajete» and making the sauce truly from scratch and tomatoes from her garden. Needless to say I’ve tried authentic ones, but I’m hooked on these. Soo good!

We’ve been here twice now, once for dinner during the week and once on a Sunday for lunch. The first time both my husband and I got chicken meals. I got the quarter meal and my husband got the half chicken meal. I also got macaroni & cheese and either corn or green beans. Our food was very good! You can see the chickens slowly cooking on their rotisseries, and the smell is so nice. The second time I got their enchiladas, a side salad, and their ranchero beans. All were very, very good. The enchiladas were freshly made using their rotisserie chicken and topped with a green sauce. The beans were delicious, and the salad was fully loaded. The only thing I would change would be to ask for less sauce on the enchiladas, as it got kind of rich for me. The first time we were there there were a good number of people dining in. The Sunday visit was packed. Both times several people came in to take food to go. This would definitely be a good full meal to pick up and take home. The employees that we encountered both times were very friendly and helpful. We were checked on several times during both visits, but it wasn’t overbearing. Price wise, not too bad, especially for the amount and quality.

The enchiladas surprised me. Being Mexican, I grew up eating authentic Enchiladas con salsa de tomatillo. It’s not quite home cooking on that, but it beats most«Mexican» chains. As for the chicken, roast chicken is nice and juicy, and plenty of choices for sides. Definitely a nice break from all of the fried chicken places you see.

Pretty solid food! The lunch special is a great deal @4.99. ¼ chicken and two sides. I usually go for the potatoes and either black eye peas or green beans. Prices are reasonable and the food quality is good. Staff is average for this tyoe of place… mostly high school with adult management, but attentive and a focus on fast preperation

Not a fan. The others I ate with said their sides and chicken were good. I wasn’t overly hungry, so I got the chicken sandwich with 1 side. Big mistake. If the owners read this review, quit cutting the small sandwich in half. It doesn’t make it look bigger, just lets the toppings fall out. As far as flavor, there wasn’t any. Wait, I take it back… the red onion was fresh and full of flavor. The sandwich overall was dry and dull. You can tell the owners don’t care about this location. Silverware was still dirty/greasy, tables weren’t cleaned quick enough and just an overall sloppy atmosphere. Not a fan, and I won’t be going to this or any other locations. Too many others to go to that are better!

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. It used to be really delicious but lately the food isn’t tasting the same. The delivery is a nice option but never fails, every time we place an order they forgot the drinks(still charged us for them) or they send the wrong entrée. I really want to like this place but it’s starting to really let us down :(

Their enchiladas are wonderful with mac n cheese and creamed spinach. No, wait, in fact, that’s pretty gross. Here are the conditions that are necessary for me to return to Cowboy Chicken: you put Spanish rice and the black beans back on the menu so I can eat the enchiladas again, and you fire the corporate doofus who made the dreadful decision to remove those items from the menu because he/she knows absolutely nothing about food. As a suggestion, you should probably also fire the person who hired the person who made that decision. Thanks.

Ordered the butter and it’s almost like they forgot to put the shredded potatoes in it. No, seriously! I ordered the«TWICEBAKEDPOTATERS™» Texas-sized so I could accompany it with my own main course at home. I couldn’t believe that this is widely recognized as ‘dbest.’ I will not spend my money here any longer. I hoped it would be the equivalent of College Station’s Fuego:( ) I also tried some of the chicken; it was good but not worth $ 9.00…

I am in Denton visiting my daughter and I had an accident and wanted to pick up lunch before going to thenER. This was my first visit. Very pleasant staff. Great eye contact with the man that took my order and warm smile. He knew the menu and was able to answer questions. When I changed my mind, it was no problem. I ordered take out: BBQ chicken sandwich with twice baked potato. Excellent sandwich with appropriate amount of sauce, chicken and pickles. Bun was fresh and whole wheat I believe. The twice baked potato was awesome! At first I thought it was a scoop of rice but it was a potato with all the baked potato fixins and formed in a scoop. Delicious and unique. They served everything nicely to go and nothing leaked or got messed up. When I got to my destination and opened it up they had included a beautiful blackened while jalapeño. Loved it! They were very busy and yet they were able to move very fast and I waited a very minimal amount of time. I would love to go back and will if I run into one of these places again.

I never leave reviews, but I’m feeling particularly let down by Cowboy Chicken. I used to order from here every week or so, love that they deliver! But this was my first order in 6 months and it seems that the quality has slid pretty far downhill. I ordered enchiladas with tortilla soup and peach cobbler… The enchiladas were the only thing consistent. The soup tasted like thick red corn starch and not much else. I was CRAVING soup and couldn’t finish it, even with a few good shots of hot sauce from my fridge. The cobbler was also inedible: cloying, with extremely undercooked crust. It tastes like eating an underbaked cake that’s still batter-y in the middle, and I can’t even taste the peaches. I also ordered two sides of ice cream to go with the cobbler and received a disappointingly small portion, barely enough to make one of their old servings – not enough to make the cobbler bearable, and honestly, when you have to cut your cobbler with ice cream to time back the sweetness, you may have a problem. The service was prompt and the prices were fair, but overall the food was poor and I’m afraid I won’t be ordering again.

Chicken Tortilla soup is awesome! Grilled chicken breast is good. Mac N Cheese is bland. And wings are over cooked and disgusting — not even worth the $ 1 for 6. Debating whether or not coming back just for the Chicken Tortilla soup is worth it.

All these tickets are waiting to be made, they have a catering order, that means you wait for your lunch, I went to the counter, a lady asked if she could help, I said yes I need to pick up my lunch she looked at me and totally ignored my request

We love Cowboy Chicken and are very happy they decided to come to Denton! They’re famous for their enchiladas, and there’s a reason, they’re super yummy. I know green beans are green beans, but theirs are delicious, and I’m a green bean connoisseur. I even got green beans in my Christmas stocking and Easter basket when I was little. They grill them on the flat top and season them perfectly. I also love their fried corn fritters and twice baked potaters. I’m making myself hungry.

I can’t even tell you how good this chicken is. I never like rotisserie chicken, but this is better than anything. So basically anything that has this chicken in it is going to be the best thing you have that day. The sides are all what you would expect, but that doesn’t matter. The chicken matters.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. The soda machine ran out of ice and they were immediately on it to replenish. The food is tasty. Got the BBQ Chicken Sandwhich with fries. Super great. The fam got the honey BBQ wings and the BBQ chicken breast and raved about it. The napkin holders here just make sense. Why are other BBQ places not doing this? Come on people :)

Always Always Always get the half or ¼ order of chicken! The chicken is fire grilled and delish! The half chicken with two sides is what I’ll always stick with. It’s a pretty big portion and I always have leftovers. He chicken is so juicy and unbelievably tasty. The bbq wings are just alright and wouldn’t order it again. Cheap and delicious!

If you’re starving, tired, and enjoy taking leftovers to work, then Cowboy Chicken is the right choice. It’s better than fast food, and I love to repurpose the chicken for days after I order it: salads, soups, sandwiches, and so forth. The rotisserie chicken is well seasoned, juicy, robust – and they’ll cut it for you if you’d like, or you can take it home whole. I know a lot of people who enjoy the side dishes, but I’m not a fan of any of them. I usually whip up my own at home.
