I love mi casita tacos forever but their customer service is awful. Specifically drive thru customer service. I’ve even had the owner get upset when I told them my order was incorrect. Haven’t met a single employee that seems to be in a good mood and I’ve lived here 7 years. Bummer

Hmm. I’m not ready to commit to liking Mi Casita yet. My food was fine, but nothing special and same for the atmosphere and service. I can see it being a regional favorite and sentimental to UNT grads. I had the Migas, which was essentially like what I could fix for myself at home. Not a big fan, at this point, but willing to give it another try.

I ordered about a dozen tacos de carne asada and a grande burrito, and I wasn’t impressed. The meat was in huge chunks and had way too much pepper, the chips were the only thing good, with the side of watery salsa. This was my first and last visit

I attended college at UNT17 years ago. Whenever I’m in the area, I have to come for my coveted fajita nachos. Chicken or beef fajita… it doesn’t matter. They’re well seasoned… even the chips are season. Exactly as they were 17 years ago. DELICIOUS!!!

It’s okay. It’s just gringo food. My nachos were okay. They need to work on the quality of chicken because it felt like rubber. The service and the price are what’s keeping it from being a two star. I might be back because I heard the breakfast burritos were worth trying but after the last time I ate here I’m almost scared to go again…

Pretty decent food with good prices. Their guacamole soft tacos are good so that’s what I usually stick with. The Spanish rice and beans are alright. The service is pretty slow but they are always friendly and helpful. I do like the chips and salsa that they give you. I find that I have to force myself to stop eating them. I wouldn’t call it great Mexican food, but when you are short on time and want some Mexican food it will do the trick.

It’s a bad sign when Taco Bell has a better Unilocal rating than an «authentic Mexican food» place. If you go through the drive thru, go straight home, and heat your food up in the microwave… Then it’ll be okay… I guess. I won’t be going back.

Forget Mexican — this wasn’t even food! Instant beans that were barely room temp! Tiny shreds of weirdly orange«cheese» and not that you’d want more but the taco barely had any filling. It was unbelievable. I actually took one bite and left, and I’d have paid more to get out faster. Jeez.

I went to Mi Casita on a weekly basis while I was a student at UNT– this place is very nostalgic for me! Great specials, strong margaritas, and AMAZING breakfast tacos!

I really wanted to like Mi Casita. After a long day, I decided to try it. I was glad they had a drive-thru. Ordering was a little difficult. The drive-thru speaker was old or malfunctioned so it was hard for them to hear me and me to hear them. After ordering, there was what felt like a pretty long wait at the pick-up window. I was really too tired to care, and the person at the window was very friendly and professional. Food smelled great! I was excited to get home and relax and eat some good food. However, when I got home and ate it, it just was not good. I LOVE Mexican food and Tex-Mex and it’s pretty rare I do not like it, but I just did not like this. I got been fajitas, salsa, chips, and queso. The beef… tasted weird. It tasted like it had no seasonings or spices and was a weird mix of bland and off-putting. The beans and rice were bland. Chips were ok. Queso and salsa — bland, lacking flavor. I ate one fajita and threw the rest of the food away. I hate throwing food away but honestly just couldn’t imagine saving the leftovers and eating it again. My stomach hurt afterward — not a great sign. Super disappointed by this meal, and I will not return. There are much, much better places in Denton.

Like a lot of «authentic Mexican» restaurants in Denton, the food here is sloppy and bland. This is your run of the mill, generic Tex-mex restaurant. But it doesn’t even do THAT very well because the food is so uninspired and lacking in all flavor. I heard people rave about the breakfast tacos, so after a few years of not eating here, I picked up some breakfast tacos(they come with chips). The tacos were okay at best, and the chips were bland, needed salt, and probably just a different tortilla recipe altogether. Rosa’s is a franchise and they still manage to do «authentic» Mexican food much better than Mi Casita.

The wife and I were craving some good mexican food and we came across this place. This will be the last time we come back here… When we first arrived, it looks like your typical mexican resaturant that would have quality Mexican flavors. We ordered the menudo(which is my favorite) and the wife got an enchilada plate. She received her food first, which was quite bland and uninspiring. The salsa was ok, a little too watered down. So, about 20 min later my wife has finished her meal and I was still sitting there looking like I was only having water. I walked in and asked about my menudo and they said it would be right. 5 minutes later(about 25 min after I ordered) it comes out. I’m excited to shovel this deliciousness into my mouth… Then ti hit my tongue. It was very bland, the broth didn’t have much flavor, I had to add a decent amount of salt in order to taste anything. Least to say, I wouldn’t recommend their menudo. The worst part of my experience was after I ordered my beer(Negra Modelo). I ask where the limes are at, they pointed to where they were. I walked over, and to my shock, the limes are completely dried out and COVERED in fruit flies. It was absolutely disgusting. I’m surprised I didn’t lose my appetite at that point and get a refund for the food I ordered. In the end, I will NEVER return to this restaurant and would never recommend this place for anyone to try.

Oh, Mi Casita, a faint glimmer in the distance. A beacon at the end of the hangover tunnel… Mi Casita is alright. Not amazing, not garbage, just ok. It’s the kind of place I go to for two reasons — 1) I’m kinda hungover and 2) I’m starving to death and can’t make my mind up as what to eat. I’m a creature of habit and rarely venture away from the grande beef and cheese burrito which is most of the time consistent. When it’s good it’s good, but when it’s not it’s «a white person rolled this.» Their tacos are serviceable but not the best in town. They tend to go buck wild with the onions which is great if you like onions but not great if you want to keep the paint on your walls intact. The tortilla chips are good and I like whatever the seasoning is they put all over them. It gives them a nice kick. Their salsa is pretty enjoyable too and is great dumped all over the beef and cheese grande burrito. I can’t say much about the interior because I’ve probably actually stepped foot in there once. The hundreds of other times I’ve gone through the drive thru probably because of the hangover or low blood sugar or both. The drive through can take a good while but that’s simply because the food is made to order and isn’t already rolled up like a foil mummy under a heat lamp. Overall I don’t hate Casita but it’s not my favorite either. I go there from time to time and it serves it’s purpose. ***get their sweet tea. They use that tiny ice that crunches well. It’s awesome.

If you need a cheap, quick meal, this place is for you. It’s not the best, but it’s a million times better than any typical fast food«mexican» joint. Their food is good and the service is great. As a vegan, I enjoy their veggie fajitas, which are not listed on the menu but are often ordered. They make them with potatoes, onions and bell peppers, and they do not use butter. Sometimes they are a little greasy, but not too bad. I ask for corn tortillas to make these gluten free. They also have yummy guacamole tacos, but the guacamole can get a little on the salty side. These are best with crispy tacos in my opinion. I eat here at least once a week!

Pleas eschew the chains like Fuzzys and Rusty’s for some of local flavor. With Dentons significant Hispanic community, Casita may only be one of them, but it is convenient to the city center, friendly and predictably good mex food. This is my Denton breakfast standby — simple, no frills and comforting with an efficient staff of low key Mexican mamas. Perfect for a little hangover after a night of live music.
