Rusty Taco really is a great joint. All the tacos are delicious, and they have fairly cheap beers and margs. Everyone comes for happy hour M-Th 3 – 7 when beers and margs are half-priced. I should mention that it’s hard to find a seat in this place even when school isn’t in session. If you’re school-aged, come on, you’ll see someone you know.

I wanted to try velvet taco but it’s so far and I’ve heard about the long lines, so I went to Rusty Taco in Denton. No lines, good tacos, and cheap! Tacos are only $ 2 and $ 2.50. half the price of velvet. I had the shrimp taco and the fried chicken taco. My husband had the pork taco and faijita taco. Good and cheap, but nothing really special. I like the location and the price. It’s across the street from harvest house, so we grabbed a coffee from harvest house and had a snack at Rusty’s.

Every time I go here, I absolutely love it! I try to get new tacos each time to keep an open mind And have never been disappointed. One thing my friends and I judge always is queso, and theres is mighty tasty! Its usually a first pick when we talk about getting tacos :)

Came here because my lady suggested it on a whim and boy, she really knocked it out of the park with this one. If you like Fuzzy’s, you’ll love this place. The food is borderline illegally good for the price point and the music… the music! I walked in to a jam by Smokey Robinson and was hit over the head with non-stop hits. I haven’t sent a hit-streak this long since Curry knocked down 90 in a row in practice last year. Do yourself a favor and get the fried chicken taco dirty style… I’m sitting here like a junkie after one, both enjoying the comedown and trying to to talk myself out of getting another. Strong Ritas too btw. I’m upset with myself that it took me this long to give this place the ‘olé college try. What are YOU waiting for? I’ve been a helper for years(nearly half a decade) and this is my first review! They got me!

I got a mushroom taco… And it was extremely small and only had like two mushrooms on it. The girl who took my order was nice, but the guy giving out orders(once they were ready) was rude. Margaritas are strong here though.

My first and only experience here at Rusty Taco was nothing short of disappointing. My order consisted of a picadillo taco, a chicken fajita taco, a side of beans, and a churro as well. The churro was the only good thing about my order. The tacos sucked, the picadillo taco had a SUPER odd taste to it and both tacos had way too much cilantro(which can be overpowering in large quantities.) The beans as well tasted super odd with an almost old-cheese kind of flavor.(Gross right?) Overall it seriously sucked for«being» a taco place.

This place is awesome. The price, vibe, and tacos deserves 4 stars. I have to at least get 3 – 4 tacos to be full because the tacos are not the biggest but it gives you the chance to try different tacos. So far I love the bbq brisket tacos, the rusty tacos, and the Baja shrimp tacos. There’s a big difference between the brisket tacos and the bbq brisket and it’s simply that the bbq is wayyyy better. Trust me. I’ve had friends make the mistake and then later ordered the bbq one and they totally agree.

This is about to become my new regular lunch spot. I was going to go to Fuzzy’s instead but the reviews for this place were much better and I’m so glad I listened! I got the #2 pork tacos and a fajita, egg & cheese breakfast taco, and added some red salsa(they also have an orange/habanero and green/tomatillo salsa) and both were SOGOOD! Especially the pork taco. Probably one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. It wasn’t very busy but the cashier was super sweet and helpful. There was plenty of space, and a nice outdoor patio. I’m already telling all my friends about this place and jonesing for more food and sweet tea. I’ll be back soon!

Rusty Taco is good. They’re tacos, and my orders are simple so rarely are there mistakes. I usually go for breakfast tacos(as they are served all day and I’m a sucker for a bacon, egg, and cheese taco at night). The staff are usually friendly, but it’s a help yourself kind of place so drinks, napkins, ect– all on you, although they are usually nice enough to bring you more chips and clean up tables. Prices aren’t too bad, and compared to Fuzzy’s they are far more reasonable. Don’t expect incredibly unique or wowing flavors, this isn’t authentic Mexican, and it’s not trying to be trendy. This is fast food with big tables for groups, music playing all day long, and convenient hours and it shouldn’t have to be anything other than that.

I’m all about exploring new taco places! My boyfriend took me here last week when I was asking him about what the best taco places in Denton were. I would say Rusty’s is a cross over between Torchy’s & gas station street tacos. They have meats like bbq and fried chicken wrapped in small, soft tortilla. I’m not a huge fan of Torchy’s but I enjoyed Rusty! It’s a little overpriced for tacos and given the choice between Rusty & a gas station taco, I probably wouldn’t choose it but it’s still pretty good for what Denton has to offer.

im a tacophile. i particularly like the grilled mahi ones, i never order less than 4 of them and particularly like them for early breakfast and brunch. place is always clean and the folks working there are always friendly. they have a good loyalty gig going as well. pretty easy to earn back free tacos. only thing better than their tacos is when you can score one for free. top marks.

I love this place, but be careful who is making the food. I ordered 2 shrimp Baja tacos, they were made correctly save for lacking of cabbage only 3 pieces of shrimp and a bucket load of sauce. I took 2 bites only getting tortilla and sauce. Majority of the time they are perfect just a bad night I guess. Great service, super clean and as I have said amazing food, I’m just going to pay more attention to who is making it.

Normally, a screwed up carry out order draws forth a curse from my lips with which the pointed ears of Satan himself might burn. A errant taco not find its way into my bag, and worse, into my gullet draws forth an anger that demands a confessional that will cause any pastor an extra wrinkle. However this isn’t a tale of anger and woe. No, this is a tale of incredible redemption. A redemption that can only be found within a fried chicken taco. Now I know what you’re thinkin’. You’re thinkin’ that a taco with some fried chicken strips isn’t that special. That’s been done before right? Maybe so, but I haven’t had one that had coleslaw strewn across it. What a stroke of evil genius has brought forth this contraption. It was enough to draw forth a flock of angels that cleansed my heart of anger and filled me with… Ok, well it filled me with a fried chicken taco. Good nuff… Among the other items in my back were a brisket taco, a grilled fish taco, a pork taco, black beans, and chips with queso. My wife enjoyed her fish and pork tacos. The brisket taco was quite nice as well. But none of those match up to the rapture of that fried chicken taco. 1 star for a fried chicken taco 1 star for friendly service 1 star because I’m going to give these guys return business 1 star because everything else was good. — 1 star for not giving me the opportunity to experience one missing beef fajita taco. Dammit, a cow gave his life for my sustenance and ultimately that just didn’t happen. A star must nova out of existence in repentance. So there ya go. The Rusty Taco is pretty damn good. It borders on heaven if you get that fried chicken taco. Just be sure to double check your order.

We absolutely love this place! We always come for Happy Hour which is Monday-Friday 3 – 7. They have half priced drinks and half priced sides: $ 3 margaritas, $ 2.50 beers, $$ 1.50 chips and queso or chips and guacamole. For the amount of chips and queso/guacamole you get it’s an amazing deal for $ 1.50. The food comes out pretty quick, within 5 – 10 min. The tacos are good and flavorful, but I wouldn’t say they are overly amazing. The cost ranges from about $ 1.50-$ 2.50 which isn’t bad for a taco.(I know I’ve paid a whole lot more somewhere else and got a whole lot less.) I’m mainly giving this joint 5 stars because the happy hour deals are so good. It’s a great place to come with friends, eat, hang out, and have good conversation. We will definitely be back!

Rusty Taco was absolutely amazing! I got grilled fish taco, the brisket taco, and the fried chicken taco with my friends. Grilled fish had amazing sauce! Brisket taco had perfectly juicy and seasoned meat. Fried chicken taco was crispy and delicious. These tacos were the and I would suggest it to anyone! The employees also had an upbeat and friendly attitude while helping customers!

Great spot in Denton that is affordable and has good food. One of the biggest bonuses is the parking lot attached to the restaurant. I’m not big into backing into spaces. The happy hour is great; half off margaritas from 3 – 7. The tacos are all under $ 3 and have good flavor. There’s three choices for salsa and their habanero salsa is really not spicy in my opinion, it just has a nice flavor. I had the grilled shrimp taco, fried chicken, and the brisket taco. It’s affordable for the college kids and it’s located conveniently down the strip with several other restaurants. I would definitely come back.

I need to come back here ASAP! I tried the roasted pork, brisket, and fried chicken tacos, and I can totally recommend them all. I loved the three different sauces too, although the really spicy yellow-ish stuff was my favorite. It’s awesome that they have local Audacity beer, because that stuff is GOOD. I’ll absolutely be back for some queso and three or four more tacos. The location is really cool on the newly redesigned Hickory street and you’ll want to bring friends and spend some time!
