So much goodness. I always get the veggie combo(even though I eat meat) and I find myself wishing they had bigger portions, although maybe that’s a good thing?

Oh, let me tell you the ways that I love D’corazon! –Really the only craving I had while I was pregnant was their chile rellenos and refried beans –Even if there is a wait, you can fit a delicious sit down meal into an hour-long lunch break –The food always comes out super fast –The service is always great And, did I mention the chile rellenos!?!

Amazing food and drinks, hands down!!! I couldn’t give the last 2 stars due to customer service. Couple friends and I went here on a Tuesday evening, fairly busy. There was a larger party of people who needed a few more seats, and were already seated. I just so happened to watch who I believe was the host of this party go to a few employees up front to see if she can have more tables, and proceeded to point out a couple of ladies who were seated behind us at a table. I watched these 2 employees approach the two girls and ask them to move, and they were not happy at all, as I wouldn’t have been either because they’re paying customers as well and just so happened to be exchanging late Christmas gifts! They apparently had already moved seats to accommodate this party, so I understand their frustration. This was completely unacceptable and poor service!!! Make a damn reservation or call ahead for large parties, don’t ask other people to move, it’s so rude. On top of this, our waitress was awful, took 20min for our check, and we didn’t get any chips and salsa as we had asked.

I seriously cringe every time someone suggests we eat here. It’s not that it’s bad, but everyone from Fly-Over Country/East Coast glorifies this place as authentic and good. That’s not the restaurant’s fault. It’s just catering to its clients, but it’s definitely not authentic(What the what does that even mean?) Service was also really terrible every time I went. I have no idea why. Maybe the crowds? Maybe the wait-stuff is sick of the claims of «authentic» from people who grew up eating Taco Bell for comparison. I don’t know. The salsa and chips are good, but the rest of the food is really just gut-bomb catered to its clients. The guac is definitely not my favorite. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely got a filler of some sort in it(and not just the lettuce, but something oily), b/c it is not that ground fresh stuff. Now, the red chile and green chile are more tex-mex than anything. That’s it, it’s tex-mex. Problem solved. I don’t like tex-mex. I like Mexican food. So get yourselves some margaritas and if you like tex-mex, you will be set. If not, just get the margaritas.

The food here is delicious, it is no doubt authentic Mexican food. Their salsa is spicy and delicious, food that would leave you craving to go there daily. Their horchata tastes fresh and they deliver the food out very fast, even though the place was packed. I love their smothered burrito. And overall, its prices are fairly cheap other than there aren’t free refills on chips. I constantly crave this place every time I find myself downtown.

Fast service. Decent price and excellent tasting food. Only thing that stopped it from being a 5 star is they charge $ 3 for a refill of tortilla chips and $ 2 for a small side of sour cream. Seems a little excessive in my opinion. We ordered sour cream with our burritos and they charged the $ 2 without telling us. When we talked to the manager, he refused to take it off the bill. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for a side of sour cream, nonetheless $ 2. Margaritas were delicious though!

My husband and I love D’Cor. We must east there once a week, if not more. The service is always great — everyone is very friendly — the food never disappoints, the prices are always reasonable, and you can get a table pretty quickly, even on a weekend night. The salsa is probably my favorite thing there; it’s hot, a little smoky, and the perfect medium blend chunkiness. For meals, you can’t go wrong with the fajitas, the carnitas, the tostada plates, or anything you cover in their green chili. I prefer more tart than sweet margaritas so I usually opt for the skinny margarita over the regular house marg, as it is less sweet. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the mood for some Mexican comfort food.

Quick service and very well priced food and drinks. The one thing that honestly keeps this place from an easy 5 stars for me is that they charge $ 3 for extra chips(#cry) and $ 2 for a side of sour cream. That’s a little excessive in my opinion. Recommend for anyone looking for some authentic Mexican food!

I read some reviews and was looking for some place near Union Station since I was on foot. The menu prices were reasonable for the quality. There is chips and salsa while you wait. The salsa is somewhat hot which is great. It had the right amount of thin juices and chunks. I ordered the 2 tacos and rice and beans. I got shredded beef on corn tortillas and the shredded beef was great. The refried beans and rice that came with it was good but is what you typically find at most Mexican restaurants.

Amazing food for amazing prices in downtown Denver. «Hole in the wall, with great food» is the best description for this place. It’s family owned and operated, the pride in ownership really comes through.

I wish I could review the food separately from the service. Food was delicious 4 stars! Margaritas were strong and inexpensive! I ordered the pomegranate margarita We had dinner with a friend we haven’t seen in a while. He paid for dinner and we were sitting talking. The staff cleared EVERYTHING off our table. We were still nibbling on our chips and guacamole. They removed them from our grasp. They tried to take my water out of my hand. A young customer approached us and said«they were told we would be done in 5 minutes and we were waiting 45 minutes.» NOTMYPROBLEM! We were going to order another round of drinks then the wait staff started pushing another table towards ours. I stopped her and said how will we get out. Then the delivered a tray of water and chips to the table next to ours to let us know we weren’t wanted. We couldn’t even alert staff that we wanted more drinks. So we left. I have NEVER been pushed out of a restaurant before. We were paying customers and that was the rudest experience I have ever had at a restaurant. If there were negative stars I would give that to the staff!

Great place for Mexican food in Lodo. My opinion usually revolves around the green chile, when it comes to Mexican restaurants and theirs was fantastic. The margaritas were top notch. So as far as the food is concerned I would definitely give it 5 stars. The atmosphere would have gotten 5 stars had we not been rushed out the door. One member of our 4 member party had finished his meal. I had my fork in my hand and had food on my plate and out server asked me if I was finished. When I was done he cleared my plate immediately and rushed back to the table with the check. We were not asked if we wanted dessert or any other drinks. We were simply brought our check and the table completely cleared. One member of our party had to have a death grip on her water so it wouldn’t be taken from her. We even had a customer come to our table and ask if we were done because they had been waiting for 45 minutes. Long story short, go if you want to eat and run. Don’t go if you want to enjoy a meal and conversation with friends and family. I just hope that the rude party that took our places got rushed off as quickly as we did. I probably won’t go back. The food was good but not good enough to make up for the rudeness we encountered. Food — 5+ stars Margaritas — 5+ stars Atmosphere — 1 star at the most!

Loved this place. Just a little ‘hole in the wall’ but great authentic Mexican food. The service was prompt and courteous. I had a combo chicken taco with chili rellano. Was very delicious and I would definitely recommend. My husband had the burrito plate. Very yummy. If you’re ever looking for a good place to eat authentic Mexican food in downtown Denver this is the place. Hope loud noise doesn’t bother you, but the food made it worth it.

Was recommended by a concierge from Hyatt Regency Hotel to check this place out. I was by myself, got a seat by the bar and was completely served within 5 minutes sitting down. Ordered a house margarita($ 5), and Carnitas(Chips and salsa, spicy and tasty, was part of the meal). What can I say about the Carnitas? The best I’ve ever had. It was tender and flavorful(23 secret ingredients in the sauce). The refried beans was perfectly done, the rice was accommodating, and avocado was superb! I would go back there everyday if I could…

Huge portions, deadly margaritas, so-so food. Went to D’Corazon after hearing it was some of the most authentic Mexican in the area. Highs: Awesome portions; most platters would feed two(and I like to eat!). Large, tasty, and STRONG margaritas; there was a 2 – 3 per person limit, and it was easy to see why. Fun ambiance; a lot of people pregame here(due to said margaritas). Lows: Food quality; while the portions were large, everything was just covered in cheese or unseasoned sauces, with little flavor underneath. I know this is labeled as «comfort food», but I think they have some work to match flavor with portions.

Best thing we had: salsa Worst thing we had: chile relleno This place serves average, acceptable, very Americanized Mexican food. We didn’t dislike it, but we didn’t like it enough to ever visit again. Best thing we had by far was the salsa that came with the chips. A lovely tomato-based salsa that was nicely seasoned, slightly spicy, and slightly smoky. Should have had nothing but the chips and salsa. As mentioned in other reviews, the first serving of chips and salsa is free, while refills cost money. Not a problem, though the place needs to fine-tune this a bit. Sweetie and I were given a small basket of chips and a little bitty cup of salsa. Perfect amount for us. But a table of six next to us received the exact same quantity. The chile relleno was terrible, and, really, not a chile relleno at all. It appeared that a small piece of pepper was wrapped around a tiny bit of cheese, and then dipped in a very thick, white, gunky, floury batter, and perhaps fried. I say perhaps because the exterior was extremely soggy. That thick, gunky batter comprised about 75% of the chile relleno. Unpleasant to eat, so we didn’t finish it. As for the rest of the items– beef burrito, pork burrito, cheese enchilada– they were, as mentioned above, perfectly okay but nothing more. If you are looking for standard Americanized Mexican for a decent price near 16th Street, give this place a try.

The best carnitas in town! I LOVE this restaurant, it is a little divey but the prices are unbeatable and the food is delicious. I think it speaks volumes that this restaurant is able to compete with bigger places like the rio and taco that are right new door. The carnitas are easily my favorite menu item, they are always crispy and flavorful. The green chile here is phenomenal! When I come here I get pints of it to go, it is truly delicious. The smothered burritos and fajitas are also all to die for. They have a deal where you can get a margarita with any entrée for around $ 4 which is an incredible deal. The margaritas aren’t the best by any means but for a cheap marg they are actually decent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic mexican food at a great price!

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants ever. It is small and usually pretty packed even during the week but there has never been a time I haven’t been seated quickly. I prefer this place over the Rio hands down. It is actually authentic Mexican. Last time I went my co-worker said«You know it’s real Mexican when you don’t need to add hot sauce. It is spicy enough. At the Rio I drench my food with sauce.» I have never had anything I didn’t love and I try to switch it up every time. I have even been two days in a row. It’s just that great. Thanks!
