On a cold, snowy evening, I called this restaurant to get my fiancé some soup because he wasn’t feeling well and likes the soup here. I made sure they still had soup and weren’t closed. It’s now 5:58 and I’m back in my car without soup. Although I was told they don’t close until 6, I was turned away because they«put everything away». When I told the cashier that I had just called to verify whether or not they were open and if they still had soup and that he was the one I had spoken to, he told me that he didn’t realize I was coming in. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and the response. As I told him, if you’re planning to pack up the soup 20 minutes before you close and someone asks for the soup on the phone, do them a courtesy and let them know. I wouldn’t have driven halfway across town in rush-hour traffic to get my fiancé’s soup had I known this. Haven’t eaten here before and don’t ever plan on returning.

Union station has a lot of great bars and restaurants… Fresh exchange is not one of them. The service was way below average. The young men who served me the first time had no interest in being there. I ordered a wrap and after they remade it twice it took about 25 mins. On top of it all i witnessed the young man making my wrap wipe his nose with his hand and then cut my wrap… No gloves involved! The next morning I attempted to order a breakfast sandwich and the girl behind the counter told me they were out of everything to make the sandwich. Lots of good options at union station and I would avoid this place!

Stopped here real quick. Wife and I ordered and half my sandwich was just bread. My wife’s food was supposed to be a curry chicken salad sandwich but there really was nothing curry about it. Had our favorite beverage tho!

I walked in to the empty restaurant and asked the servers behind the counter if they were open(Since nobody was in there and it was 5:45pm.) They stared at me blankly. I ordered a southwest flatbread. I had to point to it several times on the menu. The two servers took about fifteen minutes to read, re read, and re re read the contents of a southwest flatbread from the menu, whisper to themselves trying to determine how to make one while I watched in frustration as they moved as slow as molasses making it. On the plus side, these employees had clearly never made a flatbread before(or maybe anything) and so I’m pretty sure they accidentally doubled all of the toppings. I got a huge portion of pizza-style soggy flatbread with tons of toppings.

What a waste of space. This place could have so much potential but instead has a rude staff and just ok food. I work across the street and talk to many locals that have the same experience here. They won’t last long. It’s too bad.

No Bueno. Grumpy staff doesn’t help. Ordered a chicken wrap and it had very little chicken and all lettuce

Wow. This is legitimately my first 1 star review. Maybe that’s harsh, but if the most important criterion for rating a restaurant is the food, then these guys get 1 star. The staff was not terrible if I remember correctly, but the food… The memory of eating it sticks out in my mind as a major landmark much like getting my license, turning 21, getting married, and then there’s eating at Fresh Exchange. The salmon salad was horrendous. I had to convince myself that the grey fishy substance on my salad did in fact come from the ocean before I tried eating it. My wife got a breakfast sandwich, and after her first bite we had to throw it away. I think its the only restaurant we have told people in Denver to actively avoid. Hopefully they will re-evaluate things and come around. But until then, you can get better food from gas stations. Sorry Fresh Exchange :(

I actually think the food is okay(for a quick grab), but I have wondered why there isn’t anyone there during the busy lunch hour. I think I now know… the service. The people there are not at all friendly. They haven’t been rude, but in a prime Union Station location, you’re going to need something special to bring customers in. The times I’ve been there, the workers have just been ‘blah’ and not in an atmosphere I want to return to. I hope the owners read up on these reviews… I hope they don’t go out of business at such a great location! PLEASETEACHYOUREMPLOYEESSOMECUSTOMERSERVICE!

I’ve only grabbed food from the case by the door twice bc I was in a rush to catch the train. Foods pretty decent, but considering there was only one person ahead of me each time … Good lord their service is terrible. How do I need to wait 5 mins to pay for a pre-wrapped sandwich & yogurt if there is only one person in front of me, and two counter people working. Smh

I went to fresh exchange and I ordered the ginger teriyaki wrap with salmon and a mango smoothie to drink. It was great all of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The staff were also very kind and polite. I will definitely be eating here again.

Just picked up a «steak» salad for lunch and it was by far the worst salad I have ever been served. The steak was cut in thin strips that more resembled ham than anything else. It also tasted like ham. The white fat in the meat was much more prevalent than anything else. The rest of the salad was less than pedestrian… yellow/green romaine, grape tomatoes, onions, and pumpkins seeds. The whole eating experience was gross and I probalby won’t give this place another chance — certainly not to order a salad. This is the new Union Station… C’mon! You have to be better.

Not a fan. I got a whole steak salad and it was not worth $ 12. The bowl was half full. The lettuce was so wet that the dressing didn’t stick to it and there was a puddle of dressing & water in the bottom of the bowl. Worst of all, the steak had a lot of fat on it and was a weird consistency. If I’m going to sped that much on a salad, I’d rather go somewhere else local for it like Smiling Moose, Thirsty Lion, or Backcountry. The place has potential, but they need to step it up a notch… or three.

I have noticed alot of folks complaining about the limited menu options at a few of the bars in Union Station. Pro tip: get your food to go at one of the MANY eateries in the station and then bring it to the bar with you or get your drinks and go sit in the grand hall and munch on said food. Fresh Exchange is an awesome quick and healthy food option in the station. Wraps are in the $ 7 – 11 range and pretty damn good! They also do salads but I forget the prices on them. I split a Salmon wrap and Chicken wrap with a friend. Both were very good but the salmon was definitely better. Nice and smokey salmon and great veggies/sauce on it. Very light and fresh tasting… just what I was looking for that night! Service was very nice and quick. After ordering/paying you can sit down and they will bring it over to you. This will probably be my go to food option in Union Station when I come here for drinks! At least until some other new places open up :)
