I’m in searched of something new to my taste and new place to go to… Infact, it is my 2nd. time to be here and since I’ve just discovered the place that’s called Smiling Moose Rocky Mountain Deli. They served Sandwiches, Delis, Salad. Also their coffee is pretty bland. I usually take it home and put my own creamer in the coffee. My kiddo gets a Moose Rocky Mountain Deli freshly baked cookie and it’s gonna be one of her favorite. Me, I had Bayou Chicken Sandwich with red onion & lettuce. to wrap it all, it’s a good food and delicious!!!

Its good but I have to say, the menu prices are really high for a quick working lunch. $ 10 a sandwich?!? That’s pretty high.

#628 It’s been a long while since I’ve last authored a review but, after today’s experience with this location, I am thoroughly disappointed and need to vent. First, the manager himself is a great guy, always friendly and on top of everything. He actually called me once to tell me I shouldn’t be paying extra for Boca crumbles in my breakfast burrito and instead should sub out the sausage, saving me $ 1.50 moving forward. Unfortunately, his employees are a whole other story. To provide a bit of background, I work about two blocks from here and have made it my go-to breakfast and lunch place. I always order online to skip the lines and tip 10%. The food quality is actually pretty good for a franchise and I’ve stuck with the vegetarian version of the Morning Sunrise for breakfast and the Wasabi Tuna sandwich for lunch, with occasional servings of Mac and Cheese and/or their soup. The only thing about this place that leaves me disappointed is their staffing. The cashiers act like your average nonchalant-and-unmotivated teenagers(whether they’re actually teenagers, I don’t know) and the cooks tend to be clueless and aloof about everything. Despite my loyalty over the past several months, the staff completely ignored my online order once and actually gave me a regular version of the Morning Sunrise in their haste to follow-up on my order when I arrived. I only found out by the time I returned to my office so I had to give it away. Today, however, put the last nail in the coffin. I walked in after having ordered my breakfast online and walked to the counter. The woman at the front made eye contact with me while her colleague was helping someone else and I mentioned to her that I ordered online. Apparently she misheard me and instead of asking for a clarification or for me to repeat myself, she looks straight at me and tells me «No.» Huh? Confused at the interaction, I ask her«Really?» and repeat that I ordered online. Her colleague at the point decides to join the conversation and snaps at me, «It’s her second day!» Really, dude? Have a crush on your co-worker some other time, but there’s no need to snap at customers. Neither of them offered an apology or anything and as the«new girl» stomps over to retrieve my order, she and one of the cooks decide to have a short conversation in Spanish right in front of me. The new girl hands me my order, while the cook is still muttering under her breath. New girl then decides to offer up a lame excuse without an apology. I don’t plan on coming back until the staffing issues have been addressed. I’ve already contact the franchise itself and have left my number for them to reach me.

I really like this place. The soup is great — in fact, I haven’t gotten to the salads or sandwiches bacause the soup is so good. The other thing I really like about this place is the service. I have yet to someone who is not smiling and friendly. The service is great — and they don’t have upset with making some changes to «right off the menu». Good food & good people.

Why is Smiling Moose getting worse and worse? My bagel is completey burned and hard as a brick. The price of a cup(read: thimble) of soup is what the price for a BOWL of soup used to be — $ 5. The food tastes terrible(it used to be decent; it’s essentially fast food). When it opened in our office building, we were excited to have another sandwich shop option. They’ve changed the menu, increased the price, all the original staff(except managers) are gone and there’s no flavor. Waste of time and money. I’ll be walking to the Tattered Cover or Union Station for my meals.

Good things: 1. Free cookie Wednesdays. Just remember to ask. 2. Online ordering(to skip the sometimes epic lines at primetime lunch hour) 3. Breakfast all day. The Moose is close to my office, and always solid on sandwiches. The salads are a bit boring for my taste; and my one ding on the sandwiches is that they tend to be messy(NOT a place to go for a business lunch). That said, everything is fresh, they prepare in front of you, portions are generous.

This place is so bad compared to other food in Denver. Some stuff is barely edible. Sandwiches are bland. I’d MUCH rather have Jimmy John’s or Potbelly bread(and sandwiches for that matter). Soups are clearly mass produced or out of a can. Salads are boring and sometimes not fresh. Just nothing really much else to say. Go to Backcountry a block away for a much better sandwich.

I’ve been here several times now and I’ve never had a bad(or even mediocre) sandwich here. The service has always been friendly. The sandwiches are fresh and delicious. Today I had a new sandwich, the Barbecue Mo. Holy cow!!! Unbelievable!

I gave Smiling Moose a try today, ordered the Hot Italiano and the sandwich was completely filled with veggies and very little(almost no meat). If i wanted a veggie sandwich, I would have ordered one. If i wanted a sandwich, I’ll go to Snarf’s, Pot Belly, or Cheba Hut.

Got food poisoning from here on 2/20, no question about it, it was from here. Food was catered in to my workplace. Grossed me out eating it too, could tell ingredients were not good quality.

Good food. Definitely not bad but I rarely crave much from here. The sandwiches are on the small side and I am usually hungry unless I get one of their footlongs. Unfortunately, the footlongs also have nothing but heavy ingredients(lots of meat and cheese), so you feel like you just ate a small bomb. But they’re definitely good. Staff is pretty nice and helpful. I have never felt like I wasn’t well liked here. Overall just kind of a so-so feeling about this place but worth checking out if you’re looking for alternatives.

This place is not very good. It reminds me of the catered in food at work meetings from«Whatever-sub-shop-down-the-street» only I paid full price for it. I went recently with a coworker to pick up some lunch to eat while we watched a webinar in her office. When looking at the menu, I knew it wouldn’t be the place for me as their token veggie options had some pretty cliché ingredients(artichoke hearts and olives on the hot sandwich and hummus on the cold sandwich). I went with the cold sandwich, the Hippie Chick B. I should have added some sauce or something because this bad boy was bland. Essentially, the only sauce was hummus and it was the typical, mealy grocery store kind. Unexciting, overly bready sub-bread and the advertised avocados were that pre-packaged spread(like Subway uses). I went for a large because it was free cookie day(and you have to buy a large) and the other half is still sitting in the work fridge. With a large iced tea, it was like a $ 12 meal. I should have got a little sandwich and just purchased a cookie. My coworker likes their salads, but she asked them to leave off cheese, so they added two types of cheese. When the guy who made it handed it to her, she said«does that have cheese?» «Uh, yeah» «I asked that cheese be left off?» «Huh, oh yeah, it says on here ‘no cheese’. Uhhh, want me to remake it?» At that point we’d been waiting for a bit so she took it and we went on our way. I’ve been in here twice now(the first time I didn’t order anything) and it’s always super busy. I don’t get it. For the same price and more thoughtful, tastier food you can go to Protein Bar or Backcountry. For less price and similar quality/taste, you can go to Subway. I guess I’m just missing something.

The sandwiches are to die for; hearty portions and plenty of options. For the portion size it is adequately priced. My experiences with the staff so far have been great across the board; wait times haven’t been long either. My personal favorite so far has to be the Hot Bayou Chicken Sandwich with honey mustard instead of mayo. Close and convenient to my work so will definitely be back many times; must recommend to anyone in the mood for a tasty sandwich. They also have a mobile app which makes it a little easier if you are in a rush

Awesome staff, quick and friendly service, fun menu, delicious food. If I worked downtown I would come here for breakfast and lunch all the time! Killer breakfast burritos and they’re not monstrous so you feel good starting your day right, but not gluttonously. They have a lot of options for the«create your own sandwich» and are very accommodating when it comes to customization and portion control. All in all, happy atmosphere, great food, perfect place to pick up a quick lunch!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Smiling Moose. I eat here at least twice a week, and they know me by name. This is a great deli with tons of options, but the menu isn’t overwhelming. Their online ordering system(run by splickit) is off the hook. You can order and pay for a sandwich in under a minute and then walk in and pick it up. Their vegetarian options are plentiful and go beyond the usual three things I see: mushrooms(yuck), eggplant *yuck) or here’s a veggie sub with lettuce and cheese. The Hippie Chick Pea sandwich is so good(usual veggie plus hummus, avocado, and cheese) and the veggie moe, oh the veggie moe. Order it with barbecue sauce and jalapeños. Then thank me.

One of the reasons that I miss working downtown is going to the Smiling Moose! I love that you can put as many ingredients into your salad as you would like. I used to always ask that my salad not be chopped up. The chopping used to bruise my veggies… yuck! Their sandwiches are really good too! Try the Mo! You can’t go wrong.

Came in for lunch with a colleague during my first [business] visit to Denver and this place offers a wide selection hot and cold sandwiches and wraps as well as a «Build-Your-Own» option. Also on the menu are soups, salads, and all-day breakfast options. Breakfast all day!!! Despite my affinity for eggs and all things breakfast, I opted to go with the Southwest Mo’, one of the house specialties, per the suggestion of the girl taking my order when I asked her what I should get as a first-timer. She also informed me that Monday’s special are the 12-inch Mo’ sandwiches for around $ 7 versus the normal price of around $ 9. Fate? I think so. The Southwest Mo’ is a cheeseburger grinder topped with lettuce, fresh red salsa, jalapenos, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper and chipotle mayo. I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this sandwich, but it was great! It was essentially a cross between a sub and a cheeseburger. My grinder was prepared well with made-to-order cheeseburger filling and all the fresh toppings added a spicy southwest flare. Overall, it’s a great lunch spot that’s quick, fresh, and friendly. Coming from an east-coaster where this deli chain doesn’t exist, I’m glad I had an opportunity to try it during my travels out the mountain-west.

Great deli so close to work — love it! I decided on the Hippie Chick(sort of veggie-esq) and I added grilled chicken. Who doesn’t love cucumber on their sandwich?! I really enjoyed it, the bread may have been a bit much for me, seemed like a lot of bread. I could have done with less. I will be back…

Perfectly nice deli in Lo Do. Yes, it is a chain, but it is a good one. I had the Harvest wrap — which as my mom said, «tastes like Thanksgiving». And indeed it does with thick chunks of chicken, cranberries and an orange rosemary dressing that is delish! It was a clean, open place with lots of seats. We got there early and by the time we left it was filling up. Wednesday is free cookies Wednesday so it is insane! Friendly staff, reasonable prices and good eats! I like it!
