Lulus Looking Glass

If you can get someone on the phone to schedule an appointment, go for it. I had been to Lulu’s twice with no problems. But ever since then it’s been nothing but a HUGE PAIN trying to schedule with them. Nobody returns your calls… ever. So good luck.

Love. Brandin did a fabulous job! I had very long, thick, dark brown hair (that has been dyed a bajillion times) and he successfully gave me a full highlight that brought me back to a nice, even, light brown with gorgeous and glittering undertones and highlights. This is def the best my hair has looked in a very long time if not ever! Will be going back to do another round of full highlights to get my hair just a little bit lighter. The atmosphere is super comfy and laid back with that fun, vintage feel. Love it!

I just wanted to update my review of Lindsay at The Looking Glass. I recently moved to the west coast, but the other day when I had my hair colored by my new stylist in Seattle she complimented me on my nice haircut. Lindsay cut my hair for me at the beginning of the year to help me grow out my mohawk and it still looks fantastic. She really cares about her craft and will work on you for hours to get things perfect. She is the best in Denver by far.

The salon has a nice vibe and Emily Jayne was great. She took the time to find out what I really wanted and did a great job on my color and cut. I will def go back again!

I am so glad that I chose Lulu’s for my first haircut in Denver! I just moved into an apartment on Ogden Street (about 100 steps from the salon) so trying it out was a no-​brainer. TAYLOR WAS AWESOME! I have super long hair and was nervous to get too much cut off but she did a perfect job and gave me faith in hairstylists again (I have had a few bad experiences in the past…). She was great company during my hour visit and made me feel very comfortable immediately. I will be back!

Branden rocks! He knows hair more than most hair stylists. This place is small, laid back, funky. I love it!

So happy I found this place! After months of walking by every day and at the same time avoiding getting a haircut, I finally decided to make an appointment. Lindsay made me feel so comfortable and listened to what I wanted so well. She was professional yet fun and even showed me some cute hair styles to try out. Extremely pleased with my experience and I would highly recommend Lulu’s to anyone needing a new and fresh style or even just a trim. I will definitely be returning.

I have had my hair cut by Lindsay Meller at Lulu’s twice, and she does an excellent job. She LISTENS to what you want, and is very careful to deliver it. Her hair wash includes a short but lovely massage and her demeanor is gentle, service excellent. I was looking for a reasonably priced salon for a good haircut, and I’ve found that and more. I’m over 60 by the way, so not just young adults will find this salon worth checking out. Highly recommended.

So much to say, so much to say!!! The owner of Lulus is the most talented artist/​stylist you will ever meet. She actually listens to what you want, and doesn’t just chop your hair off, or make it a color you wouldn’t absolutely LOVE! I have been seeing her since she was in school, even then I trusted her talents. You can go in with a certain idea of what you want, or you can be like me, and tell her just to have fun. I have had cancer twice, and my hair is thin and needs love and understanding that you can’t just treat it like someone with healthy hair. I was there yesterday 4-​15-​2013, and am ROCKING the BEST Green Hair Mohawk you will ever see. Lindsay is AMAZING, and she won’t let you leave unhappy, she has the attitude of «no matter what it takes» and in this day and age you have to admire someone with that much heart and ability to actually truly care about your happiness, and let’s face it, we all love to look good. So if you love looking good, and love the BEST customer service, and probably the coolest looking artfully put together salon I have ever been into then you will fall in love with Lulus, and the talented people she has working there. I would recommend this salon to anyone, and I always do, especially when I constantly get asked «who does my hair?» The only problem I have with Lulus, is you will get spoiled and never want anyone else to do you hair. So please, go see my friend/​stylist, and get amazed by the salon it’s self and the talent that is Lulu’s. You won’t regret looking good, and feeling like a model, take it from me. Plus they carry such great lines of products, and offer all kinds of services.

Seeing as how I live in the neighborhood, I thought I would check this place out. I desperately needed a haircut, and I called a half hour before to see if they could fit me in, which they could. Always nice to know that I don’t have to schedule 3 weeks in advance to get a great haircut.
This place is so cute. I’m definitely a fan of the retro rustic look — very fitting for Colorado. The fun art, wooden mirrored stations, chandeliers, and a little on the smaller side keeps it fun and laid back. It’s also right next to a couple of cool coffee shops if you want to grab a drink before or after.
I am very particular about my hair, and Lindsay was awesome! She did exactly what I asked for — keep it longer, layers around the face, mid-​length layers to spice it up a bit — and it came out looking even better than I was hoping. It was also done in less than an hour, so I had a couple hours to relax before I had to leave for the airport.
The price was very reasonable for someone who is on a budget, and they provide a complimentary «clean-​up» service in between haircuts. I always feel like I’m taking a risk when I go to a new hair salon, and I will definitely be back.

This was an absolutely fantastic salon. Lindsay, the owner, was very personable and fit me in when I just showed up. It was incredibly nice of her, and she did an amazing job on my hair — especially considering that she was pushing her next appointment back a little. I felt bad about that, but I have deceivingly thick hair and so I don’t think that either of us expected it to take so long. Even so, unlike most stylists, she was still a perfectionist and got all of the layers exactly the same on all sides and over all made my hair look great! The hair cut was $ 45, and very reasonable in my opinion. Over all, great salon that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a salon in the downtown Denver area. I can’t speak for the other stylists, but the atmosphere was wonderful as well!

The former Salon Instukt has changed ownership and completely remodeled. The space feels more welcoming. The staff is so kind and positive. I had walked by and noticed the change, walked in asked about waxing and hair cut, got them both on same day and the services were great! I will defiantly return for any hair or skin care needs.

Lindy (Lindsay?) is awesome! She is currently the only one working here and will soon be renaming the salon to Lulu’s Looking Glass. She is a perfectionist and great at what she does. The salon is shabby chic and there are not many hair products available for sale like there are in other salons, but if you want a great haircut… she’s your girl!

My initial review of Salon Instrukt was less-​than-​great due to a slightly traumatic haircut experience. Since then, I’ve gone back to Lindsay, the stylist who re-​did my cut and has helped me to grow out my hair for the last 8 months or so. She’s awesome, professional, and fun to talk to. The rest of the staff are great. On my last visit, I bought the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that Lindsay has used during my visits and I absolutely LOVE it. Definitely glad that I stuck with Salon Instrukt.

Warm, welcoming entrance. In good weather, the door is open, and you can hear the faint sound of wonderful beats wafting from the salon onto Ogden. It’s the kind of place that you hear/​see and you think, «God, I wish I had a reason to strut in there like I’m the shit.»
It’s a cinch to get an appointment.
The stylists and staff are friendly and welcoming, with professionals who know what you want and know how to deliver.

Great salon, good people. Kitty Vincent has been my stylist for almost eight years now and has seen me through many different cuts… all different and all fabulous. I followed Kitty here from the Parlour and really like the change of venue. Salon Instrukt is friendly and has great character. I’d recommend the salon, and more importantly, Kitty!

Just wanted to give a shout out to my favorite hairstylist Jen! I got referred to Jen a couple years ago and never looked back. She knows what I want, I TRUST her judgement completely, I always get a great cut and probably the best head massage ever! I followed her to Instrukt from The Parlour for those reasons and just because I always look forward to seeing her! I’ve been to Instrukt a couple times now and love the comfortable and intimate setting. Everyone is super nice… and there is always good music playing and interesting art.

I have owned a salon and done platform art as a stylist for a high end product line and am not the easiest of people to please. I expect to go to a stylist now and assume that they have talent or don’t. I’ve been in the industry awhile and am so glad to have met Ash. She has trained in Chicago which speaks volumes in my opinon and has a very intense passion for what she does. Go see her, she is cheaper than what I would suggest she should charge and is well skilled. Very happy.

Angie has since moved to Blanc Salon on Bannock. I have followed her from Envy to Salon Instrukt to Blanc and she never ceases to impress. Her work is fabulous and I’d definitely recommend Blanc as well. Their products are wonderful — they are very high quality, from Italy, they don’t contain any perfumes or chemicals and left my hair feeling great.
