And it’s 2016 and Imma say the exact same. These girls are the diggity bomb. Love them both.

I love Andee. I love Mop FActory. I love Shanette. I just want to take a moment to rave about how stylish and amazing my cousin looks with Andee’s «handee» work. (har harrr). I gave my cuz Andee’s contact info about a year ago and I didn’t realize that… holy hell. someone actually listened to my recommendation and then applied it! The cuz’s look has become so sophisticated, so sleek. Now… I know why! She’s been going to see Andee at the Mop Factory! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I think Andee’s especially good with fine hair, curly hair, and short styles. She also just knows to to teach her clients to rock it.

I have never been all that picky about my hair; maybe it’s a privilege of having relatively easy hair to care for… hair that’s difficult to mess up. I have two guidelines I give to my stylists: no bangs and (for now) leave it long enough that I can pull it back.
After a disappointing cut and color elsewhere, I turned to the recommendations from Tyler S and Lindsey K to hit up the Mop Factory for some corrective color. I met with Andee, who was aghast that I had paid for «color» when there clearly wasn’t any.
First visit: Andee gave me a real cut. I had been growing it out (aka, was too lazy to get a haircut for a year) and the previous cut didn’t really give me a cut. She kept the length but cut off all the dry and damaged hair, making it feel oh so silky and smooth.
Second visit: I sat under some lightener (bleach) for hours so i could put some fun color in. I am kind of bored of having dark Asian hair, so I’ve started bleaching sections so I can add a dash of color here and there. Andee took the time to take the bleach all the way up to my scalp so I don’t have to re-​do this process more than twice a year. I appreciate how she’s mindful of the cost of upkeep.
Third visit: we took away my grey. She carefully took out the sections that she lightened last time (b/​c how stupid would it be to put dark brown over the bleached sections?) and made sure to match my hair color. Some stylists would’ve just slapped on the darkest color they have, which is not my natural hair color.
TL;DR: Andee will set you up with whatever cut, color, and style you want. She’ll give you the best way to keep it up according to your level of maintenance (I don’t like to have high maintenance hair, despite my love for taking away grey and adding funky colors). She guarantees that you are pleased with your hair.

Shanette has been doing my hair for four years now. I started going to Mop Factory when they were on South Pearl Street and have continued to go after they moved to Ogden.

Not to echo what everyone else is saying here, but – Andee’s fantastic. I’ve tried various Deva salons in the past few years, in Denver and on the East Coast, but this is the best hair appointment I’ve ever had. I’ve had really mixed success with Deva products (I have really fine hair) but have never really been shown any alternatives, but Andee has a ton of different products and walked me through which ones she thought would be best for my hair, and why. On top of the solid cut, she gave me lots of useful information, more than I’ve ever really gotten anywhere else, and was just incredibly helpful. Definitely recommend, worth every penny.

Andee has been exclusively cutting my hair for the past four years. I won’t go to anyone else! She is an expert at her specialty – wavy and curly hair. Andee also regularly goes to conferences and seminars to hone her craft and learn new techniques. Both Andee and her co-​owner are both certified in the Diva way of cutting hair. She cuts it dry, washes, snips some more, uses a defuser, and does the finishing touches. I don’t exactly how she works her magic but I can tell you that my curls are better defined and less frizzy after her cuts. She also gives some great tips on home styling – prayer hands to seal in product and seal out frizz! Andee is also friendly and kind. One time I accidentally skipped the tip section on her iPad credit card scanner. She told me to not worry about it. Luckily, I had some cash with me, but she really meant it. Yes, the cuts are on the pricier side, but it’s worth it. Andee’s one of the best curly stylists that I’ve encountered!

I have been to many, MANY stylists over the years in an ongoing effort to find someone who really understands my curls. I’ve had some great stylists along the way, but Andee Hoos is by far the best! She does Deva cuts, which are specifically for curly heads, and the outcome is light years beyond what you get with traditional cuts. She also listens to her clients before she dives in to a cut. She’s professional, kind, and has amazing technique! I strongly recommend her to anyone seeking a curly stylist!

I’m SOOO glad I found this girls! I was looking for a place where my curly hair would be treated as curly hair, I tried some places but I was never completely happy with the results. I googled «curly hair salon» and found an awesome review for Mop Factory so I booked an appointment. Then after my first haircut with Andee I booked the whole year, YES, I was not going anywhere else! (They book up fast!)
I have been getting my hair cut here for over a year now and I love it! Both Andee & Shannette are amazing hair artists, they take the time to explain to you why your hair won’t behave :/​and how to make it work :) my hair is cut according to my curl type which makes for an awesome cut that looks great, lasts and is easy to style everyday. I’m not very creative so I let Andee do her thing and I always come out loving my hair more than before. I never post reviews for anything (laziness) but Andee & Shannette are so talented, sweet and fun that I just had to do it!

I absolutely love Andee! I have been going to the Mop Factory for about 5 years and will go nowhere else to have my haircut. Granted, my hair is relatively simple to cut but it is amazing to see pictures of myself before I started going to Andee (my hair was awful). Now, my hair is totally awesome — every time.
The Mop Factory has moved to a new location near Colfax and Ogden but I will continue to get my haircut here. The new space is larger and very hip. I love the beds that you lay down in when the stylists wash your hair.
The Mop Factory is IMHO the best place in Denver for a haircut.

Once upon a time, I used to hate getting my hair cut. I didn’t like anyone enough to see them on a regular basis and each time I needed a haircut, I struggled with where to go. In 2009, I started going to Mop Factory Salon and seeing Andee and my woes were no more.
Andee has a wide knowledge of hair that she hones with each passing year. She doesn’t ever pressure me to do something with my hair that doesn’t suit me. She is happy to try something new or just keep doing the same thing, whichever pleases me at the moment. She genuinely cares that I am happy with my haircut. One of the highlights of the haircut is the head massage while washing my hair. The feeling is transcendent! Andee has colored my hair over the years too. There is nothing that she can not do! I have also had the pleasure of working with Shanette at the salon. Everyone who works there is kind, patient and genuinely cares for their customers.
If you are looking for a wise, skilled and kind stylist — look no further! They are true professionals who pride themselves on doing their best for their customers. I am so lucky to count myself among the lucky few!

I have been going to Andee for over half a decade (WHOA!) and can attest that she is as good as it gets people! She listens to my needs and wants about how I like my hair and head, and then uses her Michelangelo skill set to perfect my head into a perfect masterpiece each and every month! My only complaint is that I can never quite perfect my hair styling to hers for days preceding (although for the past five years she teaches me something new about my hair and how to tame the unruly beast!).
In addition, her partner in crime Shanette is also as good as it gets! I’ve seen some of the masterpieces that Shanette cooks up in the chair next to me that puts any Top Model fancy hairstyle to shame! (and I’m not even talking about her gourmet cooking abilities! — don’t get me started on the crazy food concoctions I’ve seen come out for lunchtime!)
Due to their continued awesomeness and success, they outgrew their old home and needed a bigger space, which now includes lots of natural light and comes complete with beds you can lay down in to get your hair washed! I KNOW!!!
