Food is very average. My children like the sesame chicken. I wish their cheese won tons came with sweet and sour sauce.
Abysmally slow delivery. Delivery used to be okay. Between 30 and 45 minutes was average. However, the last three times my food has been over an hour with the last time taking almost 90 minutes. Three strikes, you’re out. I’ll find another average Chinese food delivery place.

Basil chicken spicy was alright but the tempura shrimp was a joke. I won’t be in a rush back

First of all… DO NOT EAT IN. The grime and filth on all the walls and doors is despicable. The bathroom feels like it is in a filthy train station in the middle of nowhere. The same 3 people are always there, sitting at a table doing who knows what, but they certainly are not cleaning. I’ve ordered (as delivery) a few different things. The Sesame Chicken arrived in a sticky, over sweet sauce which I assume was used to hide the hard, charred «chicken» underneath. It seriously tasted like it had been fried in black oil from 20 years ago. The Fried Dumplings were dripping in grease with chewy, slick dough surrounding a lump of grey, rancid tasting, solid… something (supposedly pork). The fried rice is dry and flavorless. The ONLY thing I liked was the Tempura Shrimp which were large, crispy, tasty and seemingly fresh. That one thing is not enough to keep me going back though.

Best fake-​meat vegetarian chicken I’ve had in a Denver Asian place. Can’t speak to the non-​vegetarian options. It looks like a dive but that’s probably why it’s relatively cheap for quality veggie meats. Staff is friendly & accommodating with special orders too. A terrific place for vegetarians.

So, we have tried these folks in the past and it was… let’s say… satisfactory. Today’s GrubHub delivery… not so much. Food came in about an hour though the restaurant is .2 miles away. No problem. 4 boxes in one bag, every item turned completely upside down, leaking greasy, soup everywhere, etc. Looked like the bag was in a soccer match. Yep, more of that «don’t give a Fuck» from the New economy. People suck and the guy who delivered this «food» is guilty-​on sucking. Never again.

The DIRTIEST restaurant I have even been. If I weren’t with friends I would have run. Walls and doors had filth. Snow peas on a table being snipped next to a laptop. Boxes and files on the floor. Staple was in my friends food. We didn’t date say anything because she argued when when told the lady the order was wrong.

I decided to give this place a try after driving past it all these years. Disclaimer: the inside does look as clean as the outside. It wasn’t busy when we went in but the guy (maybe owner) wasn’t very attentive to our table regardless. Whatever though, anyway the lunch menu has a very limited selection. Tried ordering something just a little customized and the guy kept saying «we don’t do that» so I swallowed my pride and ordered the sesame chicken. It was alright. Everything was alright. Typical Chinese restaurant nothing too horrible except the service and the ambiance.

Great to have options other than fast food in the neighborhood. Drunken noodles with tofu was good.

Average Chinese food but it gets 5 stars for its vegetarian and vegan options.

This place is amazing! Their Chinese food is authentic, but it still tastes good! They have a huge ton of variety, and vegetarian dishes busting out the seams! Not just rice and water chestnuts here!
The outside may deceive you, it’s location on Colfax can make it look lower end, but this is a cultural gem, and a place definitely worth taking your from-​out-​of-​town friends!
They do close too early, closing at 9:30, 10, or 10:30 depending on the night.
Maybe if they would move their location further down Colfax toward town, they would attract more late night business.
I don’t normally like Chinese food, but I LOVE Sidewok Café!

Waste of money! I ordered the Sesame Chicken and there was about 3 pieces that actually contained chicken! The rest was just deep fried breading which was coated with a sugary sauce and sesame seeds. I had to look for the chicken and believe me there was less than an ounce! Deciding not to eat this, I moved onto the CRAB and cream cheese wontons. Okay, so the word CRAB should have some meaning since it is in the title but nooooo! Not so much as a shred! I threw out the soup and accompanying egg roll. Why bother trying anything more?
The delivery driver was nice as was the person who answered the phone but not worth the $ 17.00 I just spent! Beware!

My boyfriend and I have ordered through sidewok café few times and the place gets so busy with delivery orders. The lady carries 3 – 4 phones on her hands and her husband is always out making deliveries. We usually go to the restaurant and make a to go order because we live close by. I usually get their fried rice and honestly their fried rice isn’t that bad. I like that they add mung beans on their fried rice. Although I wish they could add more vegetables.

I love ordering food from the Sidewok café because they always get your order right the first time they are fast I wish all food delivery were this nice. Thank you for always doing a good job!!!

Petty good. I’ll admit my surprise since there were no cars in the lot and looked kinda grungy. Carry out came quickly and the veggies were nice and crispy fresh (vegan so don’t know about meat). Overall not bad at all

We love ordering from this place! Their dinner for two is great! Large portions, the vegetables are always fresh and steamed, the appetizers do not taste of indifference, and the soups (all the soups) are relish! I wish they had a food truck on the Auraria Campus. This place is da bomb! Delivery is super fast, and friendly!

I would not recommend them. Delivery time on a boring Thursday night at 6pm? 1hr 30min. Called after 1hr exactly and woman on the phone said they’d just left. I live 3.8mi or 9 min from the restaurant. It took them another 25min to get my food to me after I’d called. The food? Cashew chicken, potstickers, wontons, tiramisu. Mediocre. I’ve had better at Seschuan off 6^th. I wanted to try something new, had to be at home & Seschuan doesn’t deliver. Sorely disappointed. The least they could have done was call and let me know.

If you’re a vegetarian, Sidewok’s where it’s at. The have a full vegetarian menu, and the woman who served us (I’m assuming she’s one of the owners) was exceptional about letting us know which items were vegan (or could be made vegan) or weren’t.
We ordered a vegetarian chicken entrée and a vegetarian beef entrée, some vegetable egg rolls, and a couple of beers. The egg rolls were the thin-​skinned crispy variety (my favourite) and did taste faintly of Chinese five spice (this, I think is what the person was talking about saying they tasted of cinnamon– Chinese cinnamon is a component of that– I thought the seasoning was appropriate and not ‘pie spice’. Ha). Our entrées were both large portions and had good flavour, though not particularly spicy. Portion sizes were very generous and left me with plenty of leftovers for lunch (and probably dinner!) the next day.
The ambiance within the place is somewhat lacking (it’s a very ‘mom and pop’ family Chinese joint), I’d recommend carryout or delivery if you’re in the area, I wouldn’t suggest it for a first date or anything. Still, the food made up for the somewhat bland surroundings. Additionally, our bill was around $ 30 for two entrées, egg rolls, and two beers– so it’s really reasonably priced.
We’ll definitely get vegetarian Chinese from here in future.

We finally ordered some delivery from Sidewok recently, and it wasn’t very good. I can’t in good faith recommend it to anyone based on the experience.
We ordered kung pao chicken, mongolian beef, and house special soup. The soup was actually pretty good, but the rest of it fell short. The meat in each of our dishes was just weird tasting, and there was almost none of it in either dish. Texturally, it seemed like it was breaded to add bulk to it in both dishes. I really really hope it was breading and not something else far more disgusting. The mongolian beef tasted like it had taken a bath in black pepper. As far as the kung pao goes, it was full of celery. There were only a couple of pieces of green pepper in there. No spice either. Pretty disappointing overall, and the food didn’t really «set» well either, if you know what I mean.
On top of all of that, it took over an hour for the delivery to arrive, despite that we are quite close by. The driver called and blamed me for providing the wrong address, which was odd. Finally he showed up and claimed he tried to deliver to the wrong house on a different street.
Maybe it was a one-​time thing, who knows. We won’t have the guts to try again, though.

I love this place!
Although I have since moved from the area, I used to order carryout or delivery from Sidewok at least once every other week for the couple years I lived off Colfax. They are always friendly, very quick (carryout is ready in 10 minutes flat and delivery only takes about 30), and the food is amazing. I love their chicken fried rice and they have the most scrumptious volcano fried rice for those who love spicy!

«Meh, I’ve experienced better!» That statement is very true! I was feeling pretty lazy for lunch today and thought, I have so much homework to do, I’ll just order some Chinese and continue with assignments.
When it arrived the dude was pretty nice, but reeked of cigarette smoke! It was bad, but it didn’t bother me to the point I couldn’t recommend this place. What did bother me to the point I can’t recommend this place was the food!
The food was horrible! I couldn’t eat it! It smelt bad and it tasted bad. I ended up tossing it and I hate to be so cruel to the place, but I can’t go back nor can I recommend it to anyone.
I personally didn’t like it.
