Good service our waitress was nice and personable but food is ok! Their aren’t many choices around so this place had to do

This was my second visit to the restaurant. It’s a great location and the poolside eating is fantastic. The interior is little to be desired. It needs to be completely redone and updated it’s very 1990s with all the silk fake plants, glittery gold, sparkly lights and mirrors and hunter green tablecloth’s and furnishings. They could draw a lot more crowd with a newer interior and let more people know they are there and focused on events to bring us locals and tourists in. My first visit, we ate outside on the lanai. Yet the service was slow at that time the food was delicious and I had ordered the filet mignon, best I’ve had in a long time. Last night I went again and Service was much better than my previous visit and they had more servers on the floor. I order the lasagna, the lasagna came a bit dry and over cooked and I found out they reheat it with a microwave before they serve it. Any chef and or sous chef should know you don’t microwave pastas and send them to the table. It makes them tough and hard. I could barely cut through my lasagna it was so tough and very over aldente. The server apologized and said it’s microwaved and they should not microwave it, I will bring you something else. So I ordered the filet mignon again. She then came out 5 min later and said I’m going to have to charge you three dollars more for your meal and I replied surprised, oh OK then she came back another 5 min later and said oh it’ll be another dollar for the baked potato. If anything my meal should’ve been either comped or exchanged for the same price of my other meal that I had ordered. I felt like I was being nickeled and dime to get another meal which wasted time while my friend was eating and I’m losing my appetite. I was so annoyed so I just said forget it and she came back from the kitchen and said they’ve already thrown it on the grill it’s only 4 dollars more and it’s cooking. Annoyed I said I’m sorry, I’m not going to take it she acted very annoyed. I don’t blame her because of course it lowered her tip yet the kitchen is what screwed it up for her and me, their customer. I was very disappointed with the lack of customer service and care over three and four dollars for my meal they should’ve just exchanged with no additional charge and or questions asked, especially when they screwed up my first meal and I’ve had to sit there and wait and watch my friend eat his dinner. So last night my dining experience was not that exciting. Will I go back? Yes, because I do know that they have quality food and it’s the best of a bad lot here in Desert Hot Springs. There are not many nice restaurants around here that serve a little bit of everything, it’s either Mexican or Asian or fast food here in town. Step it up next time guys.

No thank you! I ordered the seafood pasta in red sauce and it was very bland! The seafood tasted like the frozen mixed kind that you get out of a bag. The tiny little scallops were horribly chewy and Ragu-which Im not a fan of, tastes far better than there sauce. All in all, this did not taste like authentic Italian food– which might of been okay if it at least tasted good. Would not return.

Probably the worst restaurant we’ve ever been too! Order rib eye steak — horrible taste — asked waitress? After she asked chef — «Oh has marsala over!“‘not on menu & tasted awful! We also ordered fruita de mara — seafood w linguini! Horrible — too much garlic & the first thing you taste is lemon! Pasta was soggy! Bread was hard! White wine was warm! Not cheap either! Absolutely horrible! Will never return! j

Service was beyond my expectations. Max and Jace were very polite and on point. I ordered the filet and was cooked to perfection, veggies were not to my likening but that’s all veggies since I’m a carnivore. I would definitely come back here for dinner. Very casual and located inside the Miracle Springs Resort.

Capri is exactly what it should be: a modest but pleasant restaurant catering to guests of a modest but pleasant hotel and spa. My husband and I had an early lunch here recently before taking the waters at Miracle Springs. My Bloody Mary was very good and(as requested) very spicy; the wine-list has some lacunae(especially in the area of California sparkling wine) but is adequate — and I rather appreciated the tableside ice-bucket that was brought out for our bottle of Chardonnay: old-fashioned and useful. I had a Cobb salad that was both delicious and elegantly presented; my husband had a perfectly-rare steak sandwich. Our waiter was more than attentive: he accounted for a slight delay by explaining that he had sent my husband’s sandwich back as insufficiently rare when it first emerged from the kitchen! We were well looked-after and would return.

This is the only nice sit down restaurant in Desert Hot Springs. They have top notch steaks, salads and soups. The wine we had with our steaks was especially good too. It was a Pinot Noir from New Zealand. The wait staff is very good too. Their coffee isn’t as accessible or free flowing as their sister café next door at Desert Hot Springs Hotel, which is where we usually go for breakfast(Sunshine Café). They open a little late for us in the morning. In the desert, early morning is heaven, and we are out and about at 6am. Summary, eat here for dinner, and at the Sunshine Café(also owned by them) next door for breakfast and lunch)

Went here for first time as we stayed at Miracle Springs resort. This restaurant is at the resort and we found out there are few restaurant choices in Desert Hot Springs. Some in here complained of service. We had excellent service during the meal from bartender who also waited on us, to a guy filling our waters and busboys. After the meal we did wait a while to have plates cleared and get our check. My chicken piccata was fantastic. It was a five star. The side of pasta was very average and the bolognaise was ok but not great.

The staff got us seated on Valentine’s Day for dinner with no problems even though we didn’t have a reservation. Bad on us, good in them! Our waitress was very friendly and was a frequent visitor to the table. The food was prepared promptly and tasted fine. The presentation may have been a little lacking, but that’s not really a deal-breaker. Very disappointing beer selection. No draft, virtually no craft. Boo! Kind of a low-rent Vegas casino ambiance between the clientele and the décor, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Overall, you could do worse pretty easily.

I was extremely disappointed in the lunch I ate at Capris. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with penne pasta. I was hopeful as my lunch arrived. The chicken was well crusted with a lovely golden brown coating. As I cut into the chicken, I realized the thin marinara sauce had made the top of the chicken soggy. As I took my first bite, I also realized the bottom of the chicken was sitting water from hastily drained pasta. The taste was ok, but it was so soggy and lukewarm, it was, well, yucky! The service was poor and no one asked me if my food was acceptable. The three servers were not busy — there were only 3 occupied tables. The servers were much more concerned with visiting with each other, than serving customers. I was excited to try an Italian restaurant in Desert Hot Springs, but I can assure you, I will not be back. I received a very nice note from the restaurant, after I posted my review. I appreciate them taking the time to reply. I will speak with my husband and perhaps we will give Capris another try.

Would not recommend this restaurant. Although we were seated at 5:45 the members of our party who wanted to order the early dinner special were told they could not do so since it was after 6 until the waiter took our orders. Used coupon and the value was taken off the food and tax(never experienced this before). Service was ok and food was tasty however the customer service is subpar.

I really wanted this place to be better than it was. The employees were great, it seems like they are aware of the quality of food. I’m thinking the cook may be out of his league trying to pull of so many Italian dishes. It is difficult to do that many dishes well. I had the chicken pomodoro, I would not recommend it. It appeared pre– made almost like a microwave dish. There was a spice in my dish that should not have been there, something was very much off and it was hard to eat. I struggled through half of my dish and called it quits just praying I would not get sick.

When you are staying at a spa here(El Morocco), the food choices are limited. Very limited. And normally we don’t mind driving into the city. It really is just 15 minutes away, but we felt like grabbing a bite without the drive. We will not be making that decision again. There is just no comparison with that of all of the tasty selections in town with that of mediocre over priced food. Pros — It’s close to the spas in desert hot springs. The service was great(with only one other table to wait on, it should be). The staff was very nice. The bread sticks we good. Cons — Carpet that looked like it hadn’t been changed in decades and old food under tables. Tasteless, bland food. The eggplant parmasagne was fried and soggy with plastic-y cheese on top covered in greasy marinara sauce served with some mediocre pasta.

This place was literally so bad that throughout service I compiled a note on my phone to remind myself how many things were off about our meal. I would give no stars, but it’s not the servers’ fault the food was just terrible. For the record, the servers were great. That’s what saves this place from being truly and utterly crap. Let’s start off with the complimentary bread sticks. These are definitely coming from a freezer to an oven for ten minutes and then to your table. They desperately need butter and seasoning. I ate one. I instantly regretted it. We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken for the four of us to split, as a sort of appetizer – figuring, correctly, that an entrée portion would be more than enough to satisfy us. In that respect, we were spot-on: the size was sufficient. There was nothing special about this salad. It was overdressed, the romaine was lifeless, and it needed a nice crunch – the croutons were soggy. The grilled chicken was good, though. The dressing definitely needs some tweaking. I can safely say, after swallowing a pint of it, that it’s a little sour. I got a sirloin steak for myself; I opted for a side of vegetables. The sirloin was cooked the way I like it, but it needed something extra. The sauce was thin, nothing interesting. I ate half of it. The side of vegetables was petite and bland; it reminded me of those veggies you would get in a middle school cafeteria. I added some S&P, but that didn’t save them. Chicken and Scampi: just a melted butter gravy on top of sauteed ingredients. It’s supposed to be the Chef’s creation, but all I could taste was butter. There was no finesse to this dish. My grandma, the Russian Paula Deen, thought it was too much butter. She didn’t even finish her dish. MYGRANDMAEATSEVERYTHING. Chicken Marsala: easily the worst dish our table received. This was not a Marsala sauce; it felt like the wine had been substituted with red wine vinegar instead. My mom ordered it and couldn’t eat it; I thought maybe she was exaggerating, but after trying it, I had to agree. It was awful. We told the waiter, who tried to convince me that the Marsala sauce was the same sauce as the chicken and scampi. Maybe that’s what you wrote on the menu, but the execution was totally different. Mom ordered the Chicken Parmesan to replace the Marsala, which didn’t arrive until after everyone else had finished. She got the dish to go. Eggplant Parmesan: the best dish of the bunch, which was why my mom got the Chicken Parm as a replacement. It tasted like something you would get at Olive Garden, which would be fine if I had gone to Olive Garden. At least the bread sticks are better there. Everyone, even my grandparents, who inducted me into the clean plate club and always finish their meals, left something on their plates. I’d say this place was a a miracle for diets because it will definitely keep you from overindulging. The ambiance is, well, it’s a hotel lobby on one side and a pool full of kids outside – they’re trying, but you can only elevate it so far. The food presentation borders between Olive Garden and a diner; depends on what you get. I honestly couldn’t wait to get back to my room to munch on some GUMMYBEARSFROMTARGET. Oh, and P. S., I tried the chicken parm later that night – why anyone would use two kinds of red sauce in the same dish is beyond me. Another disaster that went uneaten.

Unfortunately this restaurant let me down. I wanted to really believe it was good and although I gave it a chance, the food was just not good. I ordered a salad, my husband ordered a pasta dish and we both attempted to «enjoy» our meal but mid dinner we both agreed we just would never again. Pasta was flavorless, they had added items to my salad that were not a part of the description in the menu. If your staying in the hotel, I suggest venturing out into the city and finding elsewhere to eat.

I didn’t seek out Capri, but since it was in the hotel I was staying in, I ended up eating here twice during my very short stay. Unfortunately, I really can’t recommend it unless you simply have no other options because my three exposures to it were mostly disappointing. The first was the morning of my arrival when I asked if I had time to eat breakfast before my first spa treatment. The server just said no without trying to accommodate me in any way or even make suggestions about quicker choices. Later that day I tried again for lunch.(Service both times, by the way, was incredibly, impossibly, unbelievably slow.) The menu didn’t seem«Italian» in any way, but maybe the dinner menu offers more Italian options that the breakfast and lunch menus. I opted for a meatball sub. I’ve had better and cheaper sandwiches at Subway and the fries that came with it went uneaten. The following morning, I decided that since service was sure to be slow yet again, I’d just order room service instead so I could wait in my room. This third try with the restaurant ended up being the best because service was actually really quick and the pancakes, bacon, and eggs were tasty and filling. Prices are definitely reasonable bordering on cheap, especially for a hotel restaurant, but I’d really rather pay more for good service and good food.

Other reviews on here seems suspicious, I can tell your mine is legit, honest and have no biased affiliation with the restaurant or the hotel. My menu had some encrusted food on one of the pages but whatever… im not at a five star resort. Service: our waiter was attentive and checked in often. He was little dry but, again whatever… not expecting much here. Food: Our family of 4 had, The fruti mare — Scallop was little tough, fish chunk was ok and the mussels weren’t bad. The shrimp was good size and was the best out of the bunch. I chose the white wine sauce and it was nothing memorable. Linguini was ok and I wished it was bit more. Steak and Shrimp scampi — The steak was tad on the tough side, I got them medium well… maybe medium rare next time? The sauce/marinade was tops and highlighted the steak. Shrimp scampi had good flavor as well, same size as the fruti mare plate. Red Potato with veggies — this side dish was spot on! Great seasoning and the potatoes were cooked perfect! Crispy outside, soft and buttery inside. House salad — It was good too but it looked like hell. Big chunks of cranberries and bunch of beans with the lettuce and carrots. It wasn’t bad but didn’t eat the cranberries as they were too big. What a waste Garlic Bread — basic, Soft and garlicky. Stuffed Avocado — Had as an appetizer. It was supposed to be half an avocado filled with crab meat. It tasted more like canned tuna that it was filled with. We like avocado though, so we ate it all. Kids cheese burger with fries — Probably the best kids value meal. For $ 3.00 you get an adult size cheese burger and golden fries. Fries were crispy, light and tasty! I didn’t try the burger, but it looked good. If we stay at the resort again, we would eat here again. I’ve had worse and I’ve had better.

We arrived at the restaurant only to be ignored by at least six employees who were milling around. We finally got seated and ordered. I got the lasagna which came in about 8 minutes; clearly a microwave meal. It wasn’t even hot, warm at best, and tasted like a TV dinner. The bread was good and hot but that was it as far as redemption. The person that took our order never showed up again to ask if we needed anything or if the meal was good. They obviously knew it was bad. We got a dirty look when we flagged her down to ask for the check. Do yourself a favor, don’t eat here.
