Mason’s Chicken ‘n Seafood

Shay served me in serve thru… Great smile and hospitality 4****, Food 3*** not bad but I’m from NC so I’m picky on fried seafood LoL might try another dish.

This place is really good! The food is made fresh, it’s seasoned well, the portions are huge, and they have Kool-​Aid! Place was clean, but it’s more of a pick-​up joint rather than dining in. All-​in-​all, I’d recommend this place for fried seafood.

Stopped by to see what it was all about. Very friendly and courteous staff. Fish was seasoned very well and loved the kool-​aid! I will come back by for a second run to make sure it is consistent

I’ve been eating at Mason’s for 4 years. Great food always, but they employ teens who could care less about customer service. I love the catfish, fries, lemon pepper shrimp, and oysters.

I ordered the shrimp salad. The shrimp was completely raw. I paid $ 12 for some lettuce and raw shrimp. I took one bite of the shrimp and ended up getting sick later.

I’ve only have the hot link basket every time I’ve been so I not positive on the rest of the food. Can’t really mess that up. One day I will dig deeper into the menu. Overall, all of my experiences have been cool.

Best place to get my fried fix. I always get my pork chops while my girl always gets chicken strips. Both always come juicy never dry!

Great place to go and get good food. I would not eat in there as they stay too busy and it is an old Taco Bell so… Anyway It’s worth the wait and you will enjoy the food.

The service was good for lunch on a Friday. The grilled catfish was very good also I have tried the fried catfish and was not impressed. The grilled is top notch!

I finally decided to give Mason’s a try:
The staff was nice and friendly. The fries, hushpuppies and fried mushrooms were okay. However, my main reason for going, the catfish, was a major disappointment. I really wanted to love their catfish but it was rubbery and undercooked. I will probably try them again, but I will not be ordering the catfish.

This place is good especially because of the location. My fiancé and I often travel here. He says its the freshest fish ever until I took him to Hong Kong Market. Gotta love it.

i have driven past this place for a long time soi decided to get lunch there. the fish was dry and a bit over cooked, the shrimp was ok, the best was the cheeseburger it was very tasty but not hot. i enjoyed the fries and okra, but the potatoe salad tasted like premade from the grocery store. i will go back, but only for the burgers.

Pretty fast drivethru, but a coworker suggested ordering first over the phone then picking it up if you’re in a rush.
Catfish: HUGE. Nice breading, but it was a little chewy. Super fresh fish!
Shrimp: Great crunchy breading, but it was hard to taste the shrimp itself. The breading-​to-​shrimp ratio is a little skewed.
Oysters: FANTASTIC. Super crispy, fresh, big
Hushpuppies: in stick form? They could’ve been crispier. Not a lot of flavor.
Fries: standard crinkle with little salt
Yummy cocktail and tartar sauces, and service with a smile! I’ll definitely be back, but I might skip the shrimp, hushpuppies, and fries.

Why have I waited so long to review this place ?
Mason’s is consistently good ~ the décor is that of an old Taco Bell, so if your looking for fancy this is not the place.
But if you want some hot crispy fried catfish, tasty hand battered chicken fingers or a pork chop sandwich on Texas toast then you have found the right place.
Good food done right !!

I decided it was time to give it one more go at it. Maybe I had an off day? Maybe I caught someone having a bad day?
Maybe I came at an inopportune time?
Whatever the hell it was, my experience was NIGHT and DAY! I did not order the oysters, but I did get the 2 catfish and 3 shrimp combo.
So, I get back to the office and two GARGANTUAN fillets were piping hot and sitting atop fresh fried shrimp, fries and 4 hushpuppy sticks (I would like to mention I didn’t eat all of them as the 2 on the bottom melted the container and I didn’t want to ingest melted styrofoam — maybe put a little wrapper or something?). Everything was good on its own merits, even the fried shrimp was so good it didn’t require sauce; I was a bit surprised I didn’t get any cocktail sauce but since I had some at the office we’re ok.
The cornmeal crust was so perfect on these catfish that you could break off sections of the fillet w/​o disintegrating the whole thing (making dipping into the tartar sauce much easier). Speaking of sauce, the tartar was LEAPS better than the last time I went further reinforcing for me that my last trip was an anomaly.
All in all, very happy I went back, thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and next time I’m craving some fish n shrimp — Mason’s it will BE!

If you want some good catfish at a reasonable price this is the place.

I was craving fried Catfish and I read many reviews about this place, so I decided to find it and try it.
I have the 2-​piece Catfish and 3-​shrimp combo: corn-​meal batter, the food is only made when you order it, and came with fries and hush-​puppies that were equally good. Very tasty.
They have many specials and a huge menu that goes beyond fish and seafood, including chicken and CFS.
The place sits in an old Taco Bell and they’ve done a decent job of cleaning it up and make it inviting. They also have a drive-​thru window and seem to have a large take-​out clientelle.
Seek it out.

Wow! This place was amazing! There were so many things I wish I could’ve tried, but there is only so much I can pack in. I had the fried catfish, shrimp, oysters, and gizzards. Maybe I overindulged, hahaha! But yes, it was all quite tasty. It was all cooked to perfection on a bed of french fries. Juicy and moist, not all dried out like a lot of places. A must try if you’re in the area. Finding places like this is one of the pluses of traveling for work.

Truly a gem of a place and so glad that our friends took us here!!! This is hole in the wall dining at its finest :)
The Pork Chop Sandwich is perfection. You get a HUGE fried pork chop between 2 thick slices of Texas Toast.
The Chicken Breast Tenders are nice and juicy. You get 4 large pieces with fries for only $ 4.99
My hubby and friends enjoyed the Fried Oysters.
Best of all the price is completely reasonable!!!

What can I say about this little restaurant ~ DAMN !!
Farm fresh Catfish cooked to perfection ~ Seasoned the way a Cat should be ~ Crispy ~ Tasty.
Tasty fried Chicken and Gizzards.
Did I mention the Pork Chop Sandwich ~ Perfectly fried, with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and squeezed between 2 thick slices of Texas Toast.
Put this place on your «MUST TRY BEFORE YOU DIE LIST».
