White Sands Inn & Suites(WSIS): I really want to give you 3.5−4 stars, but there was so many nagging issues with the stay, and that’s the reason for the 2 stars. The WSIS is located very close to the beach we go to, the Walmart, the Home Depot, Publix, stores, restaurants. It gets a solid 4 stars for location, alone. Exterior: It’s been remodeled. Outside lighting is good and well lit, except the one light that is to the right of the front door. It looked like a disco party was going on outside. I thought there was a beach party going on for our arrival. Solid 3 stars. Plenty of parking. Interior: Again, it’s been remodeled. Everything has new paint. Some new furnishings. It’s definitely appeasing to the eyes and nose. All clean. Solid 3 stars. Breakfast: Oh my. it’s better not to do a «hot» breakfast option if you are going to do it hot, then don’t have a round yellow disc that doubles as eggs and have a 15 minute wait on coffee. I ended up making a waffle for my husband and I to share, and took 2 bananas and an orange back to the room. Ewwwww! Moldy orange??? are you kidding me??? –5STARS for the food code violation. Check-in: Smooth. In fact, the receptionist said we were«upgraded», but only to a 2 queen room. no more kings were available. –4 stars for the bed request, +4 stars for an upgrade(prior to viewing), so net 0 stars. Customer Service: It was great. The receptionist was very kind and nice. Said that we had the largest room in the hotel. And kept apologizing for not having a king. +4 stars. Room: now here’s the rough one. We had a negotiated rate from for $ 89/night + tax. So, for the price, and not using it except for sleep, it was tolerable. But, here’s where these small pesky items popped up. Bathroom was a ½ @ss job of a remodel. See pics. We kept flying off the couch because of the way it is engineered with the pullout bed. The pleather cushions would either sink to the back or slide off. it made for good entertainment in the mornings. Back to the bathroom. I felt like it was larger than it needed to be. Like it needed another vanity or something. Oh, which would have been awesome considering the new mirror is so tiny. The door lock on our final night jammed and we had to shove the door open. It was caught on the screw than was not screwed into the door jamb lock hole(see pic). The maids closet was always opened and the light was always on(tisk, tisk for wasting energy). There was a baby crib that was right in the middle and just a haven for someone waking in and taking what they want, or worse, getting hurt. Loss Prevention personnel, worldwide, all cringed when I just said that. Talking about doors, the first closet, when walking in the room, was broken. Completely broken. The video shows it so much better than I can write. Again, for the price, location and initial view, it’s a good deal. It’s all the small, nagging issues that threw this to 3 stars and the moldy fruit to 2 stars. I’m just glad we didn’t have any pest issues!(Whew!!)

Not bad! Definitely been a recent remodel. We had an issue with our door where we had to go back to the front desk with all our stuff in hands. You had to pull the door nob up in order to get in our room, down wouldn’t work… other than that it’s pretty nice for the price!

Awesome place to stay. Front desk staff is superior and extremely nice. They were very accommodating upon check in, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The remodel was a success, and I highly recommend this hotel for Destin.

Apparently, this hotel was recently re-modeled. I don’t remember seeing a legit sign for it, only a giant banner with its name. We stayed from Monday afternoon until Wednesday morning. Hotel was not located next to a highway so no traffic noise. Our room was really nice. AC worked great! We somehow got two queen sized beds for the two of us. No complaints there! That meant more pillows for me, although, they were too soft for my liking. There was a microwave and fridge. Bathroom was quite spacious and stocked with four bath towels, two hand towels, two face towels, and one towel for the floor. They provided complementary shampoo, condition, and body lotion as well as a hair dryer. We had time to dip into the pool after our beach days. The pool ranges from 3 to 5 feet, which is great for me since I am not a swimmer. There’s a small square«jacuzzi/spa» to the side of the pool that was relatively clean. There was complimentary breakfast daily from 6am to 10am and it was one of those typical hotel breakfast. They had your usual eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, etc. But what I really enjoyed were the waffles! Hotel had terrible free Wifi though, if they had any at all! They provided us with the name, which was«guest,» and the password, but my phone could not even find the«guest» name of the Wifi and I just bummed off the one that said«Sand Destin.» That was my only gripe about the place. Although there was not a beach behind the hotel, its location was a five-minute drive from the beach and Henderson Beach State Park. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel looks like brand new. Everything clean and new. Very friendly personal. Just saying. They said they just remodeled the hole building. Good breakfast.
