Bell Buoy

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Bell Buoy Inn last October, We were coming to Dewey for the Golden Jubilee with our golden retriever, Riley, in tow but unfortunately the event was cancelled, we made the best of it though, after all a bad day a the beach is always better than a good day at work. The room was very large and clean and the staff is absolutely incredible, they go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. The rooms haven’t been updated but the overall décor was warm and inviting, immaculately kept and the housekeeping staff is awesome, very kind and trustworthy. We’ve stayed at other pet friendly hotels, motels and B & B’s in the area but by far Bell Buoy is our favorite, it’s nice and quiet in the evenings and you are virtually steps away from the ocean. Our room was extremely large, the beds were comfy and the wifi and cable reception was leaps and bounds better than all the motels we’ve stayed at in the same area. Getting ready to book our return stay for the spring and fall jubilee, wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Several girlfriends and I stayed at the Bell Buoy this weekend for a bachelorette party and had the best time! It’s just next to the beach, the price was better than anything else I found in the area and the people that run the place could not have been any sweeter! Check in was easy, they were even able to give us two rooms right next to each other. They have window unit AC that does a good job of keeping the rooms cool – even with people trekking in and out of our room getting ready/​pre-​gaming, etc. They have a nice deck that many of the guest congregate on and mingle throughout the day. Other than that, it’s your pretty standard motel that has seen it’s share of action over the years; the rooms could be updated, but honestly, when I stay at the beach, I’m not spending a whole lot of time in my room, so I think it did the job just fine! Also they were super sweet about parking. The first night we were there, the owner called us to make sure a car that didn’t have it’s parking pass in the window wasn’t ours so we wouldn’t get towed and then they let us leave our cars in the lot after checkout on Sunday while we had brunch! What fantastic hospitality!
I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My favorite place to stay in Dewey! Location is great — within walking distance of all the bars/​restaurants and the beach. Rooms are bit dated, but well maintained and have always been very clean when I’ve checked in (stayed here probably 5 – 6 times over the last several years). Definitely the most affordable place within the immediate area. The staff is really the best part — they’ve always been extremely warm, friendly, and have always gone out of their way to be helpful and to ensure that we have a great stay.

I would give this place 5 stars if they renovated the rooms. The location cant be beat and the prices are the best in Dewey. Its a block from the beach and walkable to all the bars. Its relatively clean but dated. The staff has always been pleasant!

Fabulous, convenient and clean! Located across the street from the Rusty Rudder. The staff is friendly and amazing! I’m a frequent visitor and this motel is on the beach block! Definitely an inexpensive and amazing spot. Check it out!
