Having a handful of Venezuelan friends, I have to say I’ve grown fond over Venezuelan food over time. I love coming to Don Pan for breakfast on the weekends! They do have a variety of cakes and pastries for you to choose from. Caramel and Strawberry are my two favorites from the cake section. The cakes are a little on the sweet side so pair it up with a cafecito~ A medium café con leche is $ 1.99! For the savory breakfast foods. I personally get an arepa con queso rellado y mantequilla. The warm crunchy outer layer of the arepa goes nicely with the chewiness of the shredded cheese. I also love the tequeños! Another cheesy option for breakfast! The staff are relatively nice for the most part! The only thing is that they don’t really speak English, so it helps if you come in knowing what you want already!

This place does not understand the concept of TIME. TIME to take my business elsewhere. The sign posted says that they open at 8am on Sundays. NOT!!! I guess its a latin thing…

Less than 1 star! Cuatomwr service is worst than terrible!!! They treat you like if they are doing a favor to you. If you tell them something they treat you even worst and they ifnore tou… it is simple to me, if you do not like your job then find something else!!! And what kind of venezuelan place doesn’t have arepa, and doesn’t have Cachapa… WORSTSERVICEEVER! Servers need training. And be thankful that you have a job!

De nada le sirve a un local tener comida buena(mas no excelente) con un pésimo servicio, las chicas tratan mal y además en vez de atender están pendiente de un chisme entre ellas en vez de asesorar al cliente y además con cara larga. En lo particular no vuelvo!

Came here with a couple friends for an afternoon snack. I ordered a quesocate arepa, but they were out of avocado !! :(so I had a baked chicken empanada and a fried chicken empanada instead. The baked empanadas are definitely superior — the fried had a nice corn taste but the dough wad pretty dry. Friends who had arepas had no complaints. We also got a couple single serving cakes which were delicious! Recommend definitely stopping by here.

The food is great but service is terrible, they have to train employees to be friendly and smile, none of them seem to want to be working there. They discourage customers from buying anything, my God. La comida es buena pero el servicio es pesimo, los empleados se ven desmotivados y no tienen entrenamiento en atencion al publico.

Best pastries around with amazingly fun service as the employees always give me a smile and give such honesty with their products freshness and quality. Extremely hispanic as it fails to feel like your in the US but great by all means. Two other small businesses inside which makes it feel cluttered and odd. Not much of a lounge recommended place but sure is great to take home and to friends.

I just ordered lunch for myself and a friend. I ordered two Ham and cheese arepas and they weren’t very good, it was as if they weren’t cooked, cheese wasn’t even melted it was just a cut opened arepa and they just put slices of ham and cheese in it and didn’t even cook it. I have had arepas before and these were definitely uncooked. Wasn’t worth the $.

I stopped by just to get something fresh for breakfast in the morning, I guess I was the first customer early morning(7:20AM) I was afraid it might be closed because the shedule on the door says open 8:00AM, The location is nice and clean, but I found all the bakery goods a little bit overpriced. As a Colombian, I’m used that when you walk in a Colombian and Venezuelan bakeries, all the bakery goods are warm and fresh, the smell of fresh bread invites you to come in… well this was not the case at Don Pan, when I inquired about what’s fresh or wam for breakfast? she answered to me: Nothing, I can put it in the warmer if you want! I ordered a Beef empanada and a Pandebono, when I gave a bite to the empanada… it was Spinach, not beef as ordered and it was still cold inside, I returned the spinach empanada and told the lady to exchange the empanada, told her I ordered Beef empanada, she didn’t say, anything, no apologies, nothing, brought the other empanada and that’s it.

Buena panadería pero pésimo servicio. Colas innecesarias. Falta de supervisión y control de calidad. Estado de los baños deja mucho que desear… de lo peor en el Doral.

The cachitos and empanadas are good. The service us AWFULLYBAD. My order was being taken when someone accidentally bumps one of the fire extinguishers hanging on the wall and hits the floor hard. The young man that attending to me stopped what he was doing and just looks at the man trying to put the extinguisher back. I ask if he can take my order and tells me to wait in a bad time. I told him if he was that concerned he should help the man and he told me that since the client knocked it down the client should fix it. ??? Then he tells someone else to take care of me and he proceeds to take orders of people in the line skipping a lady that was next to me. When she tells him he skipped her he tells her that she had earphones on he assumed she was with me. I asked the young lady that took my order to show me who the manager was, she hesitated but then pointed her out. I explained what happened to the manager and she said that she would speak to him but that she understands that this can happen. She didn’t acknowledge my concern with his attitude. I then recalled that the franchise owners are parents at my kids school. I asked her for her name, so that I can reference the conversation with them if I had the chance. She told me that she was not going to give me her name as I was being arrogant. Mind you I spoke to her in a respectful but direct tone. It is not about arrogance. When you go to a service establishment you expect to be at least treated with respect. Hopefully the franchise owners will read this. As it is their livelihood on the line. My family will vote with our money.

I never do this, but if there were negative stars, this place would get a few of those. For the most part, all don Pans suffer from horrible service. The food is good, but it’s almost as if it’s a job requirement to have a nasty attitude and be as slow as you can at these places. This one, however, wins the prize. 30 minutes waiting, bad attitude when I ask, then dirty looks as I get he food. Never again. Plus, there’s a little desk in the back of the dining area that serves as a travel agency??? Really??? Really???

Quite honestly this place is amazing Be warned it is runner the same way Venezuelan bakeries are run so it’s first come first serve and you have to be loud if it’s rush hour and or it’s packed you can’t sit in a corner being shy waiting for someone to attend you! It’s a hassle for some but once you get attended the employees are the sweetest things and DONOT miss the cachapas! Cachapas are a hit in Don Pan together w the guayanes arepas!!! You will love this place! I know I do! :D

For starters, upon arriving to this location the line was extremely long(even though it was a busy time on Sunday morning, the service was very slow with only two or three employees taking orders). After waiting in line for 20 minutes they finally took my order, however, just seconds before charging my credit card, their cash registers lost power and absolutely no form of payment could be processed(it is worth noting that only the cash registers lost power). They — apologetically — asked me to wait and 15 more minutes went by(at this moment other people in line are already leaving). Nevertheless, I decided to be patient(specially since my $ 5 order was bagged and ready to go). Once the power was restored, I was told that they could only take cash and that the credit card payment option would not be available… You may argue that this is acceptable since the loss of power may or may not be their fault. My problem is that, after clearly indicating I would only be able to pay a with credit card(I told the employee numerous times during the outtage that I did not have cash), they should have been upfront with me. In total, I wasted 45 minutes and got nothing from this visit. Furthermore, the manager had a horrible attitude: she said there was nothing she could do and asked me to go out and get cash. At this point, I replied it is not worth leaving the location to get cash for a small order(for which I had ALREADYWAITED45MINUTES).

I was here just for the holidays and their Venezuelan baked goods are great, love their cachitos, tequenos, the bread, their coffee. Their servers are a toss up: sometimes you may get a sweetheart and some other times you may get a nasty one, I was lucky twice and unlucky once while there, the lady who took my order did not prepared my coffees and left me hanging there and when some other lady appeared there, she seemed to be having a bad day and did not treat me in the best way… oh well.

I used to go there to eat the«Cachapas» once in a while. Last time I asked for a cup of water and they told me: «WEDON’T GIVEOUTWATERFORFREE, IFYOUWANTWATERYOUHAVETOBUYIT» Just like they do in Venezuela… I think they forgot they are in the United States. To make the long story short, I refused to buy the water, I sat down, ate my Cachapa the best I could considering I choke when I eat food without water… and NEVEREVEREVEREVERCAMEBACK. No wonder they have had to close almost all of their establishments, and BTW people that go there are really rude they try to skip the line getting in front of you any way they possibly can(Not going to mention any nationalities but this only happens in the Doral location), this is not the place’s fault but it just ads to the horrible experience.

If you MUST go then go ahead. The salty pastries are a hit or miss, sometimes amazing, sometimes my dog ends up eating it because I can’t, although the cakes are always consistently good. I never base my rating only on the food or product but on service and convenience as well. If you don’t speak Spanish you will be forced to communicate by pointing to what you want(forget asking what things are, just chance it), and if you speak Spanish the customer service is really no better — the attitude is hurry up and order. If you hesitate another patron will surely push their way past you and no one will care. In other words the employees have a pretty bad attitude all around. A lose/lose situation here. I have ocassionally experienced one that is trying to be nice, but for the most part«Customer Service 101» is definitely in need. If you want empanadas and cake try«La Estancia» less than a block away, always packed but worth the wait.

I spent a couple of years working right next door to this place, in fact I closed many a deal over a cup of coffee in Don Pan. The do have some pretty good selection of Venezuelan goodies, however, when it gets quite crowded the service goes totally downhill, people cut in the line right in front of the cashiers who choose to ignore it. It may be unfair to penalize the establishment because of the patrons lack of class and manners but it makes for a very unpleasant experience and it reflects quite negatively on the service or lack thereof.

I had given a horrible review for the Don Pan in downtown Miami. However, this location in Doral is quite the opposite. It’s the best Don Pan in Miami — but this is probably because the manager is Venezuelan, and it is located in «Doralzuela.» Everything here is markedly much better than the Don Pan in downtown Miami — from the cachitos, tequenos, to the arepas. And there’s more Venezuelan offerings such as pabellon, golfeados(Venezuelan cinnamon rolls), pan andino, etc. Even the way the food looks is much better. However, pan de bono was a disappointing miss. While they do offer pan andino, and it’s a good loaf of bread once topped with butter, it pales in comparison with what I get in Venezuela. Really, the best thing here is the pan de queso and the golfeados(ask for it to be topped with cheese, you won’t regret it)! When in Doral, and wanting quick Venezuelan food, this is a good place to be. It get packed at times so if you come during the lunch rush, do expect a line. It was packed when I came around 11:15AM.
