Terrible waiting time, not only to get a table(when there are many available.).but after being seated also. It took 30 minutes before the waitress came back to get our order. Our food arrived 30 later… cold… our waitress asked us if we wanted refills 2 times and both times never got the refills. We finally had to say to her hey Can we have some refills here. I absolutely hate cold eggs and hash browns. The tables many were not cleaned up. And our waitress was trying to clean some tables up when she could have been waiting on people. I actually took a photo of the tables that were all filled up with dirty dishes the whole time we were there. They were not even half busy, we finally got out of there after two and a half hours! That is ridiculous!

I would choose no stars if that was an option. Absolutely horrible prices and the food was very bland and very low in portion for the amount of money they charged. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Just saying.

Our party of five were seated right away our server was very pleasant. I ordered the cajun chicken pasta which was very tasty and filling. Everyone else enjoyed their meals and they all looked just as tasty. My first time at a Perkins. It wasn’t crazy special, but seeing how the food and service were both very good, I would return if I run across one when I get home.

Stopped at 1 am after hitting the casino. Half-price appetizers was a nice surprise so we ordered 4. We also ordered entrees. The country club melt sandwich and a chicken Santa fe Chipotle rice dish. The appetizers were hot and came quick. Fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and chicken strips with dipping sauces. The pickles were sour – just the way I like them and there was plenty. All the other appetizers were good, too. For $ 6(half-price), we definitely got our money’s worth! Let’s talk about the entrees. The chicken Santa fe Chipotle dish was cool to the touch. The rice was hard, not cooked all the way. The chicken was so salty – too salty to even eat. He spit it out. I ordered the country club melt – what a mistake. The chicken was literally COLD. I couldn’t believe it. Cold. The waitress never came to ask us how the food was like a good waitress would… and should. She saw us just sitting there with food on our plates and talking and assumed we were done. She brought us to-go containers. I told her our issues and told her that I wasn’t paying for the entrees, just the appetizers. She said she would have to go talk to the manager. Um, ok… about what? The food was gross, I am not paying for it! She asked if we would like something else. No, no thanks. I know what happens in a restaurant when you complain! We paid for our appetizers and left never to return to this or any other Perkins again. Quite a shame, actually, as Perkins used to be a pretty decent place to get a meal. Now, it is true that we went at the wee hours of the night BUT when we ordered, we were the only customers in the joint. No other orders to compete with the cooks time. I did hear him say how bad he needed a cigarette but we did hold the door for him when we came in… he had been out smoking when we came in. I guess the thought of that next cigarette interfered too much with getting our order done right! Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and especially not at 1am. One star for the cheap and satisfying appetizers. That’s it.

The breakfast was super! You can tell the bread is baked locally– thickly sliced rye. What made the food taste extra good was being served by Bobbi. She loves her job, and it shows! She took the time to listen and inquire about my journey. The world needs more like her. Thank you!

I am usually a big fan of Perkins, having been to several throughout the Midwest. I thought it was one of the few chains that had it all figured out. Boy, was I disappointed when I visited this location. They made every cardinal sin known to a short order restaurant. The entire place smelled like dirty carpet. The waitress was hung over. The menus were sticky. The food was haphazardly thrown on the plate and frankly didn’t taste that good. The friendly young lady at the checkout counter did her best to put a silver lining on our visit, but it wasn’t enough. I should have known something was up when I walked in at 9 am on a Saturday and the restaurant was mostly empty.

Perkins has been a staple of Dubuque for decades. Breakfast food is ready on time and arrives as advertised. Service may be slow once in a while. The same person that seats you also operates the cash register. here’s a tip. pay at your table. It’s safe and it saves time. There is plenty of booth seating under the Windows along three of the four walls. Tables are available at the center. There’s a nice view of hyvee to the west. You may want to request a seat asking for a booth along the west side to enjoy the bright red glow of the hyvee sign at night. There is a good selection of sandwiches and entrees. I tried the trio. For nine dollars i got to pick three choices. I chose a delicious BLT salad, an average BLT sandwich wIth one slightly burnt piece Of toast cut in half and a delicious slice of chilled lemon meringue pie. Coke products are served along with water tea coffee or milk. Tough call so i picked a comfortable diet coke. But dang. I paid $ 8.99 for the meal and dropped a cool $ 2.59 for the drink. Bad call on my part. There’s a really nice bakery counter up front with pies and muffins as the featured entertainment. Both commodities are award worthy. You’re with walking distance of Target to the south or the Hampton Inn to the east. I wouldn’t recommend walking from Best Buy to the north as you are required to dodge traffic. I’m a satisfied return customer who wiill be back once again at a time and date to be determined.

Never in my life have I ever been treated so bad. I understand that it was late at night and our server was on third shift on a holiday weekend, but in no way does that give an excuse for her to treat us as horrible as she did. Throwing straws on the table, blaming us for the reason she was here on a holiday night. We came here from out of town to have a good weekend with our family that we rarely see and to go out for breakfast after a good night and to receive such horrible customer service from our server completely put a damper on our last night here. If this is how a restaurant treats it’s customers on a daily basis, I have no idea how this place is still running. This restaurant does not deserve the one star I gave it. Sincerely, A server who is irritated that servers like this exist

Food is decent, but holy moly it took FOREVER to get service. Thank goodness we weren’t in a huge rush because I think our waitress kept getting lost somewhere in the restaurant and had trouble finding her way back to our table. If you don’t have a lot of time, I don’t recommend stopping here to eat.

Terrible terrible service! After waiting for about 20 minutes for our food(and straws, one more water and a booster seat that was also not brought out) we asked the waitress how the food was coming along. We finally received the food 13 minutes later. We know this because a supervisor waitress came out and said she heard we had asked about when our food was ready and she wanted us to know that the ticket has been put in only 13 minutes later and we shouldn’t have complained. Wow! That’s never happened to me before. Clearly the waitress forgot to put in the order until we asked about our food. Usually we get an apology for slow service. I know the timing because I looked at my phone when we were seated at 12pm. Food came at 12:45. Fine for a fancy restaurant, but quite a delay for a restaurant like Perkins. Next, I found 3 pieces of ham in my «vegetarian» entrée. I usually pick out one or two but three is a hard line for me. So, I returned the food. She glared at me and spoke very rudely as though talking to a small child«now, tell me what’s your problem with this… blah blah blah.» Later she said we can’t talk to the manager, she talked to the manager for us and we’ll get our food free. Obviously she didn’t want the manager to know about her behaviour. She also told me how can I complain about one piece of ham. She looked in the food and only found one piece. Wow, again. Hands down, the worst waitress I have ever had. I would have rather paid for a decent meal. I haven’t been spoken to like that in years and years.

This is good stuff. Breakfast is good, coffee comes in a carafe for the table, which is nice so you can help yourself to seconds. The food here is generally all very good. Good value, great desserts.
