It’s been a couple years, but Cornerstone served my favorite burger ever! Seasoned ground beef on a ciabatta. Only place that compares for me is the Squeeze Inn in Sacramento.

Stopped in on our way to the Ski Park for breakfast with my son. It was nice not to fight the Summer crowds; we were one of three tables at 8:15 am. We were seated promptly and served coffee the same way. While we weren’t in a hurry, we also wanted to eat and be on our way. Our server was far more interested in socializing with her coworkers than giving us much attention. When at the table she was great. But then she’d head back to the kitchen. The kitchen door was open — I could see her talking and carrying on. My Cajun scramble was very good. My son loved his breakfast wrap. Unfortunately all we spoke of on our drive up the hill was the inattentiveness of our server. Sad, as she is good at what she does when paying attention. I’ve been to Cornerstone a half-dozen times; and have always had good food. We’ve usually had good service.

A wonderful little find on our way home from Shasta! Crab Benedict was superb and paired with a soy chai latte was perfection! Wonderful service with a smile despite the craziness!

We were happy to find this place because there was not much else around. We quickly parked in front of the building and did a poor job of it. With barfing children and a 4 hour drive ahead of us, after visiting family in the mountains for Christmas, we were wearing thin. The young woman at the counter was nice but the older woman was inconsiderate. She had an accent and was maybe Hispanic. Without saying«hi», «how are u doing» or anything she walked up to me and chewed me out for our poor parking job. She asked me why we had parked poorly and I briefly acknowledged that it was a poor parking job and i answered her question of «why?» I mentioned the already rough morning and saying«I don’t really know why» she just«humphed» and walked away. She should be careful as a business employee and a human being. This kind of treatment could really cause some people to go off the deep end.

Love the ambience at Cornerstone, bright and friendly with big tables that aren’t too close together. The food was delicious at breakfast and the menu had a lot to offer. Shout out to the polenta side, the hash browns and the breakfast wrap. The service left something to be desired but I still recommend this place for a fantastic meal at a reasonable price in charming downtown Dunsmuir.

Attentive staff. Great coffee. Quaint location. The Lox and bagel were good. Just not much to write home about.

Yuuuuuuum! This is the best place to get breakfast pastries in Dunsmuir. They were super busy, but we were just getting some pastries to go. We were told the wait is always 30 min or more on the weekend to have sit down breakfast. I was sad we were low on time, cause the place smelled amazing. We got a carrot muffin, blueberry scone, peach turnover, and breakfast scone. Out of the pastries we got, my favorite was the breakfast scone! It was seriously the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. Carbs and bacon. A match made in pastry heaven. If you ever make your way to Dunsmuir or if you’re just passing though, stop the for breakfast scone! You will not be let down!

Got served a moldy bagel. If you can’t take the time to check yer bread for mold, what else are you missing? Yuck.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for Sunday Brunch before we left to go back to the Bay Area from our Mount Shasta trip. We made reservations, though we didn’t need to as there were several tables available at 12:30pm on a Sunday. I had the Savoy Benedict with a side of fruit and he had the Truck Stop omelet with a side of hashbrowns. We both liked our meals, but we definitely had better. My eggs benedict was lacking more flavor(it would’ve been better with regular bacon instead of Canadian bacon). We’ve been spoiled with fine foods from San Francisco and LA, so our meals didn’t impress us. Cornerstone is a decent brunch place though, especially for the area. The Good: Good, prompt service Reasonably priced Good-sized portions Not too crowded(at least when we went) The Bad: Food lacking richer flavors

Driving from Silicon Valley to Oregon for a family reunion. Stopped randomly at this quaint little café. The food was awesome and so fresh! I’m a vegetarian and they had great sandwiches, plus a pretty decent kids menu! If you go, get a meal with the French fries… Dare I say, I think they are better then in-n-out burger fries! Hope we get the opportunity to come back. Everyone of my family members enjoyed their meal thoroughly… and that’s saying something.

Our food was great! We had the applewood bacon omelettes with a fruit bowl. Both were delicious! The produce was very fresh, the bacon was the best I have had, and the fruit bowl was amazing with lots of variety.

Great variety of a home cooked breakfast. Greybeard and I split a «trucks top omelet.» Plenty of food. The offerings of buckwheat cakes, oatmeal, smoked salmon bene, so much to choose from. Good coffee pleasant service. There was great art work on the walls from a local ceramic. Great town to visit… next time.

We just were there and they were far too busy for the staff to handle. They had no tables for all 6 of us and asked if we could split and we agreed. After the table next to our party opened they would not seat us next to them as «Management would not allow them to» and I might add we had not even ordered yet! After asking for our coffee to be refilled 3 times and our food order coming out wrong I asked to speak to the manager, only to have a server named«Susie» come over muttering that she knows what we want, guess she did not see that I was looking at her. After telling her that we just wanted coffee and that our order was wrong she asked why we wanted the manager for and rolled her eyes as she walked away! Guess she did not pay attention again as I was still looking her in the eyes as most people do when they are talking to you, ASSHEROLLEDHEREYESATME! At this point I told her«Don’t roll your eyes at me!» And she put up her hand and said«Whatever» and walked away, and still no coffee! We never did get to speak to the manager as we were told they were cooking and could not come over. I walked over to «Susie» handed her my plate and told her take it off the bill then! When the rest of the party was done, guess what?! The food was still on the bill. Server said she forgot but meant to take it off. We had eaten here every day of this trip as it has been my parents and the rest of the party’s favorite for years, guess not any more. All this because ONEBADEMPLOYEENAMED«SUSIE»

I stopped here with my family on our way back to Sacra-tomato. They closed at 2. We walked in at 1:50 and were going to ask if they were still serving to go. They immediately acknowledged us and told us to sit down. Instead of to go, we ate in house! I ordered the Farmer’s Market salad which was super fresh(I am an extremely picky eater in terms of cleanliness and whatnot, thank goodness for Unilocal), a good sized portion for under $ 12. My aunt had a sandwich that she said was excellent, but had a bottom piece of soggy bread which she wasn’t a fan of. She just ate it without the bottom piece. The waitresses were extremely attentive but didn’t overdo the attention They were great! One of the waitresses, I assume the owner or manager, came over and had asked my aunt what she thought of the iced tea. She had noticed my wasn’t drinking too much of it. My aunt told her she didn’t like fruit teas, and just liked plain old iced teas. The waitress took it off the table and off the bill without hesitation. The only thing I could make a suggestion for is the focaccia bread that came with my salad. I wish it came warmed up! It was a little difficult to put butter on as the bread is served cold. Lastly, I seriously feel like someone can always just a place off of how it keeps its restroom. The restroom was perfectly clean. They had some good smelly stuff in there. I don’t know what or where it was hidden, but it was in there. I make regular trips up north and this will always be a stop :) It was 25 degrees outside, so we didn’t get to sit on the outdoor patio, but I can’t wait until I drive back up in a few months and can sit on their outside patio!

Gayle and I left the Bay Area a little late, but still made lunch in Dunsmuir at the Cornerstone Bakery & Café. At 1:30PM, the place was almost full, both inside and out. Still, we found a nice seat by the window, relaxed, and both enjoyed a very tasty chicken curry salad. Service was down home friendly and the people watching was fun. We’ll back for sure when we’re through the area again.

On my way North, stopped in Dunsmuir for some lunch. I actually meant to stop by another place to eat but it was Sunday and closed. It’s obviously a small town so not much other choices but Cornerstone Bakery & Café seemed like the only store open and with quite of few people. I got the Truck Stop Omelet. Cool little café with great portions. Baked goods are also good.
