I cannot in good conscience continue to give this establishment my business after witnessing a cashier harass and embarrass a young female patron this past Thursday. Customer service was borderline acceptable to begin with; however, it is completely and utterly unacceptable for an employee to grunt«ID!», study said ID, and then ask whether or not the customer standing in front of them is a «woman or a boy.» It’s not a cashier’s job to criticize or critique individuals who come in to buy beer or liquor. Their job is to ring up a sale so patrons can go on about their business. Nobody needs ignorant social commentary when all they want to do is buy some beer. It’s despicable that the staff and ownership of this establishment thinks this is an acceptable way to act. It is not, so my money and I will buy our booze elsewhere.

The witnessing of a crime against humanity always instills in me the need to act, in the best way I can, to prevent future occurrences of the same nature. In this case, I witnessed a young woman trying to buy a beer and was instead subjected to a line of questioning regarding her gender from an ignorant employee. As women, we have the right to look however we choose; short hair, tattoos, binders, short skirts, long nails; however we feel comfortable. No one has the right to question my gender based on my appearance. So I call bad form! I will be taking my business elsewhere, thank you very much. Word of advice, coach your employees on appropriate customer service.

RUDE and ignorant employees. If you expect acknowledgement and more communication than«ID!» and a few grunts, you should probably stay away from Rues Lane.

Nice little liquor place to get your drink on! Your typical alcohol hot spot to get beers, wines, and hard liquor. Pretty good variety of wines from different countries. Cheap too. They have some sort of sale everytime I stop by there. The owner is a nice guy. Knows alot about the stuff he sells. I would hope so. The place isnt that big but it can definitely get the whole town drunk if you know what I mean.
