I like stop and shop and have been in many of your braches but your East Meadow store is a nightmare to shop in. The loud horrid racket is constantly on making it impossible to think or even remember what you came in for. Another customer advised me that if you dare to complain — they turn up the volume.

First of all the only reason I shop here is because it’s the closest to my house. They always have long lines, never have any cashiers then you use their self checkout that never works right. I bought strawberries brought them home to find out their moldy, went back to exchange them and found 4 more packs of moldy strawberries, went to give my money back and got back 2.99 the cashier couldn’t even hand me 3.00 God forbid her till is short a dollar after I had to come back to return my moldy strawberries. I’m never coming back here.

I love this Stop & Shop because they have a variety of items that are not easily found in other locations or other grocery stores. I was looking for Mary’s Crackers which are gluten free and I perused through the healthy section and was incredibly impressed with the amount of items and the prices for the various items. I have been looking for green water coconut for quite some time and who knew that I would literally see them right by the healthy section along with other root vegetables and fruits from around the world that are not easy to find. I bought two green water coconuts and they were huge and only $ 2.49 each! The produce section here is vast and and I always get great vegetables and fruits here. I love how they also have Boar’s Head products at the deli. I also appreciate that they have an entire aisle devoted to items that are on special for the week, although nothing in the aisle is what I would buy any longer since I am desperately trying to eat healthier and the best place to shop in a grocery store is along the outside perimeter of the store and not up and down the aisles where things are processed and not good for you. I see that other people have complained about the wait time for the cashiers, so this is always why no matter how much I have in my cart, I check out myself and the self-check out. I will definitely be back soon for my coconuts! Who needs sports’ drinks when you can drink the water from a coconut and replenish lost electrolytes the healthier way!

This place has most of the grocery stuff you need on a daily basis. I like the beer section where you can mix and match individual micro brews of your choice. The bakery section is fine too. However the checkout aisles are almost always half empty. There are just two or three open and the checkout process is slow and they don’t even smile at you. I guess I’m too used to getting good service at Whole Foods.

It’s your normal neighborhood supermarket. I give it 3 stars because of its cleanliness. There have been many times I needed some assistance and it was difficult to find an employee to help. Make sure to use your Stop & Shop card, along with manufacturer coupons, and store coupons.

Stop & shop has pretty much everything you would expect from a big box grocery retail chain. Some of the deals you get with the stop & shop card are great, you just have to keep a keen eye out. I’ve been to this particular stop & shop, which shares the parking lot with a Wal-Mart, several times. Each time I’ve been, I have found everything I was looking for with no problem. My only gripe is some of the cashiers here are not very friendly. Last time I visited my cashier was busy talking with a co-worker about how hungry and bored she was. Very unprofessional in my opinion. However, that has just been my experience at this particular stop & shop. I’d recommend going to self check-out when you shop here! 3 Stars.

Next to a Walmart, this S&S is pretty solid as far as such supermarkets go. You’re welcome.
