Park Avenue Sushi & Sashimi

Cute little Sushi shop. They only have two tables but I feel this place is probably more about delivery. I stopped in while walking by and figured I would give it a try. I had an Alaska Roll (salmon, cucumber, and avocado) with three pieces of tuna sashimi. The food was god and the people were nice. The location is a bit dinky and perhaps run down but that does not matter with good food. They also have a small selection of chopsticks, tea sets, and some other small items. I am not sure if I will come back but I may order delivery. All and all not a bad little — perhaps family owned– sushi spot.

Very good sushi and sashimi. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I like all their rolls and sushi. I usually get the rainbow combo or a yellow tail roll.
They also have a Korean dish Hwe Dup Bap which I like.
No complaints I highly recommend this place 5 stars

An interesting place.
Like a lot of restaurants around here, it seems they specialize in Take out. They have a couple of small tables, and a few chairs at the bar, but the space is tiny.
The sushi was good. Had a lunch special, and added a spicy tuna roll. It was good. Not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but for a small, simple takeout spot, it was perfect. I particularly like the fact that you can watch the owner make your sushi right there in front of you.
Not spectacular, but solid. For take away Sushi, a fine 4 stars.

Only based on food 4 Stars. Prices are outrageous. $ 20.00 for lunch is insane. Sorry wont be going back. Going to miss ya, can’t afford it. Yikes…

I gave them two tries and both times I was let down.
Today I ordered a Vegetable Teriyaki for takeout and I honestly can’t even eat it. It tastes how wet dog smells. And the vegetables in the dish were: Carrot, Onion and Cabbage. And on top of it, it just doesn’t taste fresh.
I will not be coming here again.

Called for delivery today, and the female who answered the telephone stated in an extremely snide voice, «can’t you pick it up»… Sure, I will close my place of business because you don’t want to deliver? A simple, I’m sorry I don’t have a driver would have sufficed. Well, she proceeds to huff at me and throw a 12 yr old tantrum, and when I asked to talk to the owner I was told «no, you can speak to me» and states he doesn’t speak English. I explain how «pleasant» her attitude is, and she states she is like this because she is sick. Keep the food now! Handling my food while being ill isn’t how I like my sushi.
Good look Park Avenue Sushi, guess you make enough $ to turn large orders away from a company that could have been on the regular.

Solid sushi place. The fish was very fresh and the sashimi and rolls were top notch. I don’t know if I have ever seen a place with this many specialty rolls. They have a couple of tables and few seats at the sushi bar. Service was very good.

Sushi is always tasty, fresh and consistent. Small dining area for sit in, but would recommend take out. Service is fast and friendly!

i am obsessed with their Tiger Rolls. I have had almost every roll on the menu and it is all really really good. My favorite Sushi place in the area. Nitzi is good too.

tried every single special rolls throughout th year. all were amazing and fresh. recommend take out and eat at home with family or watching tv. ate at the place once since byob with my wine that was good too!

Ambiance/​Décor/​Atmosphere: Boring, empty, borderline embarrassing with the wide open kitchen equipment on site for all to see. If it weren’t for the menus on the wall the view would almost be cafeteria like.
Noise/​sound level: Quiet to average; most patrons are ordering take out, but when I was there the only sounds to be heard were of the father daughter owner duo. Nothing out of the ordinary to upset your dining experience.
Menu: The menu here is your typical Japanese sushi style of menu with tons of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese cuisine offerings to be had. I’d say the menu would be confusing, but many patrons will have already experienced something like this previously.
Service: The service was terrific; daughter of the owner was attentive and father was quick with making the rolls. They even offered a few pieces of sushi for free because we ordered quite a few rolls. The service almost felt personal, which further enhanced the visit.
Food: All of the rolls and appetizers were delicious and second to none. I’d rate the sushi at near high quality. The combination of price and taste makes the food enjoyable any time of day.
Bar: BYOB, or maybe not; didn’t stop to ask honestly.
Price: If you pay attention to specific special rolls the price is cheaper than normal sushi restaurants. But, it is possible to spend more than you want depending on what type of roll you order. Last time I frequented this establishment I purchased 42 pieces of food for $ 42. So, the value cannot be beaten.
Overall: The value to quality ratio is very high here, and if you’re in the area you should purchase sushi at Park Avenue Sushi. You won’t feel let down by the service and quality of food, but your wallet will thank you by the time you get home.

They are very pleasant and everything is fresh. Great lunch specials and they delivered to a group at our office in a timely manner. Everything was good.

I really enjoy ordering takeout from here. Fast delivery. The tuna avocado salad is really fresh on a bed of mixed greens. I love that they have such a big variety of sushi rolls. The lady who takes the orders and delivers the food is really pleasant.
I either order takeout from here or Nizi Sushi in Rutherford. I haven’t had any bad experiences with either.

I’ve always had only good experiences ordering out from this small and cozy establishment. It is owner runned and operated. A real ma and pa store, except they’re too young for that label. The fish is fresh, nice sticky rice mixture, crisp veggies, smooth miso soup, and good sized portions. Why pay $ 7.95 and up a roll when you can get it here for about $ 4.95. Just get off the train in Rutherford, cross the tracks to East Rutherford, pass the Irish pub and give Park Ave Sushi a try. I think you’ll like it. They even have a couple tables and seats at the counter for eating in. GO THERE!

Seems every time we order the sushi is so fresh. Love this place.
