Yan Asian Restaurant

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. The place is very clean and the service is great. The food comes out quick. The Tom yum soup had a little too much red pepper than what I’m used to. Sushi rolls were average — I would recommend the spicy girl.

I was in desperate search for sushi when I came across a review for Yan Asain Restaurant. They were a total life saver as I was super hungry and not wanting to leave my apartment. I ordered a tokyo roll and a philly roll, both pretty solid. I don’t normally get the tokyo roll, but it sounded good so I gave it a shot. Sushi was really good, service was quick and the delivery person was very nice. Will definitely order from them again :)

I love this place! I was looking for a place that delivers sushi and other Asian options that are good (my boyfriend doesn’t eat sushi). I feel like most sushi places either have good sushi but lack in their other options. This was the best of both worlds. The delivery is always fast, through grub hub. The hot stuff is always hot and the cold stuff is always cold.

Fresh, Healthy, affordable and most of all Tasty food. We order delivery. It is worth the price. On line menu on Unilocal is very user friendly. I hope this place maintains its great service and standard. Will be a regular customer. I have ordered their Sushi before and it was awesome.

It used to be better. I don’t know what happened to them but now it really doesn’t matter what you order, they just decide randomly how they are going to make it. It has always been kind of sketchy about whether the spicy you ordered will show up that way but tonight’s chow fun was the worst I have ever had. Why bother to ask how I want it prepared if you are just going to give me what you feel like making? I ordered Extra Spicy, not totally bland and mild.
They also pay no attention to the order time. I asked it to be delivered at a specific time and it arrived almost 25 minutes early. Not as big a deal as bad food but still annoying.

We order almost every other week from here. Food is good, and unlike standard Chinese restaurants that cook food high on oil, MSG to make it taste good. That’s not the case with them. We stick to kung-​pao chicken, ma-​po tofu, veg fired rice, and similar items. I took out 1 star because their appetizers have almost always failed us.

Must try their food if you like spicy food!
We ordered: Thai chicken spring roll (appetizer), Basil chow fun with chicken, Shrimp & string bean in spicy garlic sauce, and we got FREE ice cream for dessert (which was much needed after our spicy meal).
Portions are huge, and service is phenomenal!
This is my new favorite place :)

I have to say that Yan Asian Restaurant is growing on me. I used to go to Six Happiness by Hawthorne and then I moved so I’ve been having some separation anxiety and issues finding a new spot.
I was ordering delivery from this other place and then they stopped delivering to my area. Crushed again.
So finally I found Yan Asian and I feel like the quality of their sushi has been getting better since I started ordering from there. I know in the beginning I wasn’t really impressed, but maybe something changed?
I ordered Sashimi the other day and the pieces were so so delicious. It’s almost beach season so I’m trying to stay away from carbs more. It was so fresh, I wondered why I don’t order Sashimi more often. I also got a couple rolls, one with eel and one tuna avocado, which I was able to split and save for lunch. Both were delicious. None of my rolls fell apart by fault of design, and they were both satisfying.
Bonus points because the delivery driver found my apartment instead of making me walk all the way around the block. :)

Yan is located in the former Man Hing spot on Park in downtown Rutherford. The new owners did a complete renovation and built a lovely cozy restaurant with a Sushi chef in the corner. Their menu is a combination of Chinese, Japanese and Thai. I got the vegetable Chow Fun for take out and it was very good. Chow Fun be a little mushy if not fresh or cooked right but this was prepared perfectly, nice firm noodles and full of flavor. Nice varied menu, very nice people, and lovely comfy restaurant. We will be back.

Best. Chinese. Ever. Period. Everything is amazing here, especially the dumplings. They have thai stuff too! Pad Thai is delicious but I usually stick to the Chinese menu.

This is the BEST Asian food in the area! I get sushi at least once a week, and have now turned my whole office on to Yan! We order lunch and have it delivered all the time! The food is fresh, the prices are great, and the staff is SO nice! 5 stars all around!

Amazingly fast delivery! Ordered it through Unilocal’s eat24 app and it was delivered in exactly 30 minutes! I thought it would take longer considering it was dinner time AND Chinese New Year. Food was perfect. Hot and delicious. Steamed pork dumplings were tasty, hot and sour soup was the perfect combination of sour and spicy, and the chicken udon noodles were cooked to perfection. They got everything correct including the brown rice in my white tuna hand roll. We will definitely order from them again.

This review is strictly on the delivery and food from delivery. I have been ordering from here for a short but well lived time. I order delivery probably twice a week. They deliver to my home in Carlstadt very quickly. The food is always very good and the order is correct. They do have a delivery minimum but I dot not mind making it as the food is very good. My normal order usually is just sushi with some soup and salad. They also have great lunch specials.
As I said this review is really just from the delivery side of things. I have not yet had the chance to go to their restaurant but I do plan a trip soon.
My delivery is always packed well and comes with the correct utensils and additional supplies. The hot stuff is hot and the cold stuff is cold. I am usually able to make two meals from the one delivery.
So in conclusion I do recommend ordering from this restaurant if you are in their delivery area. From my experience you will not be upset. The delivery people seem to be nice too. But I always prepay so is really just them saying thank you and handing me my bag. Still it is nice that they are pleasant.

I just got food delivered to me from this restaurant last night (via Unilocal’s eat24 app).
What we had: Shrimp dumplings, chicken teriyaki and the fish katsu. The food was delicious! The Fish was crispy as was the salad, the chicken had a lovely aroma– the teriyaki sauce had a very homestyle flavor to it and the shrimp dumpling were really, really good! I am definitely ordering from here again.
Placing my order was really simple, delivery took a little longer since yesterday was 1 day after #Jonas was here, but the wait was a 100% worth it. INfact it’s pretty amazing they were even delivering! I made a call to the restaurant to make sure my order was confirmed (it was my first time using eat24), and the person that took my call was courteous and very helpful.

Delivery order via Unilocal and I must say they were pretty quick. Love the convenience of the online order and nothing was missing.
As for the food, it was ok for me. The pan fried shrimp dumplings was bland… when I bit into the dumpling, i didn’t expect to have so much liquid gush out.
The sesame chicken was good, nothing spectacular.
The dynamite roll had a good taste, not the best. I felt like the mayo topping wasn’t mixed well enough… i couldn’t finish the last piece and I usually demolish it.
The one I did enjoy was the Beef and Bok choy… wasn’t salty and the broth was tasty over white rice. I Def would order this again.
I wouldn’t nix this place at all… I more than likely will be back to try other things on the menu.

first time i ordered through Unilocal and it was fannnntasttttic! so easy. i ordered the bok choy soup with shrimp and a volcano roll. the soup was very large, full of bok choy and had a bunch of hugmungo shrimpers. i would expect it to be more like 10 dollars but it was only 7. the volcano roll was also muy bien. oops sorry about the caps lock (#didntrealizecapswason) delivery was quick and the delivery guy was nice.

I was a little worried because there weren’t any Unilocal Elite reviewers and most of the previous posters have either less than 5 friends or reviews. I was in a bind and needed food delivered to my hotel. Luckily
came to the rescue. I was able to easily place my order online and it did warn me about the 45 – 60 minute wait which was okay by me. Unfortunately
doesn’t have a comment box so I put in the address but couldn’t specify which hotel. The driver called me when exiting the freeway and then again when he was at the lobby. The food was packaged well and still piping hot.

Yes…I ate it all… and I would do it again!

I love the redesign of what was Man Hing. Am a fan of General Tso’s chicken & Sesame chicken. However, the prices are a tick above for your pleasure. Not too crazy about that.
Their quality is top notch. I love that you can order online too.

Delicious food. I had veritable chow fun and my boyfriend had beef and broccoli, pork lo mein and we shared a fried rice.
On their menu they say they use only fresh ingredients, no canned vegetables, white meat chicken and no added msg. The food took a little longer than other restaurants we have been to and ordered the same thing and I was okay with that because I knew it was being made, not re heated.
When the food came out the presentation was great and the food was soooo good. We have ordered this same order many other places and have felt so crappy after. And this we don’t feel like the food was heavy or greasy.
I would have given 5 starts but the décor seems like they tried but were rushed. The paint job isn’t really well done and they have up the old Chinese food pictures that man hing had and they terribly tried to drape a red thing over it.
So over all, food is GREAT but décor needs a to be re done or fixed it looks a little sloppy.
