I have had the WORST experience with this place this past week. Being that this location is within walking distance from my house, I liked to stop by once in awhile. It is a generic DD. Has wifi, prices are a bit higher than local DDs but not extreme. The premises is kept clean. Now the issues is with the staff. You can tell that a majority are still in their early years of college which you will come to learn from overhearing a lot of the personal lives just from being in line. On that note I should mention I would not come inside with a child. Too many times have I heard things that should not be said in front of customers… Especially a child. I congratulate someone who can work in a customer service job and be in school as it can be a pain to deal with a lot of different people who expect things from you. However, if you can not do it with a smile, or do it correctly, then working in customer service(especially the food industry is not for you). That being said these were the two experiences I had this past week. The first seems extremely minor compared to what made me write this review: 1. I went in to study on my laptop and grab an iced coffee and sandwich mid afternoon. I attempted to order a combo with hash browns and sub the regular hot coffee for an iced. When I asked the girl she told me that its not considered a combo if I make a substitution… The sign behind her(which took up a whole panel!) had the price variations for size and substitutions… She seemed confused, rolled her eyes and did her own thing. I noticed that she only charged me the price of the regular combo. When I got my order she only gave me the sandwich with no hash browns and my iced coffee was a regular, not flavored. I didn’t bother to say anything because she was very annoying. 2. Against my better judgment I return a few days later to get a coolata to go… I attempt to go in through the side door which was locked at 4pm. An employee was standing by it and didnt acknowledge me at all. So I start walking to the front door. No more than 4 feet he opens the side door. Now call me crazy but couldnt he have done that sooner? I felt that it was rude to do that. So I approach him, and his supervisor was already there joking with him. I tell him that it was incredibly rude to do that to a customer. Was going to leave it at that but he starts calling me a «f***ing ***hole» and sticking up his middle fingers at me. He then starts following me through the parking lot. I kept my calm and walked away. I then emailed corporate about this situation and heard back soon after from the franchise manager. He was very apologetic and admitted that the guy had came to him and explained exactly what I had mentioned. He then asked me what I would like to make the situation better. I told him I just wanted it to be known and that there should be some sort of resolution on his end with his staff. He then persisted that I make some sort of offer to make this situation better. He told me to call him back around noon the next day with an idea… I am not sure what this meant. It felt like he thought I wanted a freebie… That I was looking for a free coffee or gift card. That is why I am typing this review. I didn’t complain because I wanted a free meal. This is not how customers should be treated at any establishment. Whether it be DD or Starbucks. I just know that I will not be coming back here. They lost a very local customer.
