I’m sooooooooo sad these fine folk are gone, our youngest luv’ed Connie, sadly we have no idea where she and her family have gone… sniff sniff… The new place has weird, has some«traditional» soup stuff and isn’t half as good. Bummer…

Soooo sad… this place is not longer here! :(I loved this place and it was my favorite Korean restaurant!!! If anyone knows where they went or if they relocated please let me know! I love their Korean fried chicken, soft tofu soups, and they had the best seafood pancake! There is now a «traditional Korean beef tofu soup» restaurant here… very limiting menu.

This place deserves a 3.75. but it provides quick service and great quality food. Though I’ve had better elsewhere, this place fulfills the palate. They offer the usual multiple savory side dishes. The price is a bit substantial for the quality. I’d pay around $ 10 for it instead considering service and quality. The waitress never came back to fill our waters and we had to go to walk up to her for service. It’s like she’s there to do her job and you can definitely tell that’s her attitude. Besides that, this place is perfect for a VERY casual lunch w/friends.

I love coming here for many reasons. The waitresses are attentive and friendly. The food is awesome! and the atmosphere is casual– perfect for grubbing with friends on a given day. I come here mainly for the pahjun(pancake) soondaeboggum(sausage stir fry) jjajangmyun– the spicy kind, and their fried chicken. Of course the soondooboo(tofu soup) is a staple. I always leave this place stuffed, and love coming here.

The food here was average as far as Korean restaurants go, which is not a bad thing, just not a great thing. The ban-chan(Korean side dishes) were fine; we had 6 dishes: the sweet black? soy? beans, sweet dried little fish, cubed radish kim chee(okay, it’s not called kim chee, but I forget the Korean word), tofu, bean sprouts, and a pasta salad dish.(For the best ban-chan I’ve had in the area, try Hae Nam Kalbi around 165th and Aurora; their main dishes are solid as well.) The soon dubu($ 7) was average as well, a little on the greasy side and not as flavorful as some places(my money is on Cho Dang in the Federal Way Paldo market/mall as top soon dubu choice.) They were out of the grilled mackerel, so we had bulgogi(BBQ’d beef, $ 15) instead. It was much thinner than usual(no juicy pieces of beef like I prefer), and a little heavy on the sauce. The hae mul pah jahn(seafood pancake, $ 14) was good. Service was inattentive, but friendly.(You generally need to flag waitstaff down in Korean places, but the wait person here was kinda on the lazy side.) Overall, this is a decent place to go, and prices are about on par with the average Korean place, so I’d say 2.5 — 3 stars is justified. I would head to Hae Nam Kalbi, further south on Aurora, for my Korean fix(although I have yet to try their soon dubu.) I likely won’t be back to BCD Korean Restaurant, unless I’m feeling really cheap and want to show up for the $ 5 soon dubu lunch special during 11am — 3pm…

My first time here. The service was good and food was good. I usually eat Korean in San Diego so have nothing but that to compare to. I do think the prices seem a little high but maybe not for the area. I had the hot pot and it was good. I wish there were more vegetarian options though :( I would be happy to try the lunch time although rumor has it you get way less goodies in your soup because of the special price.

This BCD is definitely better than the other BCD down the road by 99 Ranch. They are doing their $ 5 soondobu lunch special everyday right now so you should definitely take advantage of that!!! My friend and I ordered too much food but they were all delicious! I chose the assorted soondobu that came with shrimp, clam and beef, and that was very gooood. But then again, like phở, I can’t really tell the difference between tofu soups. I really like the bulgogi dish though, it was sizzling on the plate when the server delivered it to us and we were both so excited. We asked for more sesame oil and salt and omg that definitely completed the bulgogi flavor/taste. I also really liked their jap chae except for the firmness of the noodles, they felt soo chewy but after a minute or two in the microwave, my leftovers tasted much better. The sauce they used in the jap chae was soooo good, I don’t know how else to explain it. It was just the right amount of soy-sauce and teriyaki flavoring? Not sure what it was but it was definitely one of the best tasting jap chae that I’ve had. And I normally do not like jap chae. Lots of mushrooms, beef and green onions too, woohoo! The interior is pretty cool too, on the right side(if you first enter the restaurant), there is some metallic spiraly art work, very neat, I must say. It’s a small hole in the wall kind of restaurant but the food DOES impress.

WHAT. HAVE. YOU. DONE. I promised Brian M. that this would fix our late-night Asian food cravings, and that since it was my favorite Korean spot in my neighborhood that everything was guaranteed to satisfy. It was reaching midnight tonight(Saturday), so BCD Soft Tofu House — open til 2 am on weekends — was one of the few options available anyhow. That’s when the waitress(who knew I’d ask about them from the 345327882 times I’ve done so before) informed me the minute she saw us walk in that their restaurant DON’T CARRYPORKINTESTINESANYMORE. Also, NO blood sausage, NO monkfish on the menu either, and the free hot beverage machine is still broken! Her words: «We don’t have any of the exotic menu items anymore…» Then why am i here!!! Why am i even breathing right now? Well, there goes my top four reasons to come here over every other Korean joint up in my North end of the city. Poo! Well, at least they had the seafood pancake on the menu. It’s almost $ 14, though. Eeep! I felt like somebody had shot Santa Clause on Christmas morning and my little boy(Brian, in this case) was tugging at my robe asking, «But Mommy, where are all the goodies you promised??» The girl who always waits on people is generous enough to bring out extra banchan, so we didn’t starve alongside the giant, tasty pancake. I still had a good time. It was a decent consolation… kind of like celebrating Hanukkah instead. But now there’s nothing to set this place apart. My pork intestines… they were so good… They weren’t «popular» enough to keep around, apparently. You blockheads didn’t order them enough! Didn’t you read my review? I said they were delicious! Screw you, tofu soup. That stuff is like eating a spicy melted liposuction. Fix your damn tea machine, too, BCD. I’ve gone through too much loss tonight. *joy p. s. i need to say something nice: the guy who owns the place is a friendly man. I like him, which makes this update even more unsettling. And the waitress ran out to chase after me with my crossword book after i left it on my seat. Thank you!!!

My FIRSTCHOICE for a fulfilling late night meal. The hungry patron’s experience at this restaurant is optimized when going with a small group of friends and eating«family» style by ordering a variety of multiple dishes. However, for individuals, I recommend any of their soft tofu soups, though I am partial to the Budae Soodooboo(ham and sausage tofu soup). The fish egg tofu soup is probably their most popular flavor. If going with a group, definitely order the YangNyum Chicken. For those not familiar with Korean food, YangNyum Chicken will provide a new and tasty experience for your taste buds that will probably become an addiction. I like to order the sauce on the side for dipping since the yangnyum sauce can be very sticky. Their seafood pancake is definitely one of their best dishes, filled with pieces of shrimp, squid, and green onions, providing a nice balance to what normally amounts of a heavy meal. To further add to the dining experience, BCD is a family owned business. All of the waitresses are extremely friendly and hardworking. There is normally only one waitress working the restaurant at one time. This is an impressive feat in that the waitresses are fully capable of providing speedy and excellent service to an entire restaurant and there are constant requests for refills on drinks and side dishes. Excellent food and excellent people.

This place has the best soft tofu soup. I ordered the kimchi beef tofu soup and unlike most places, the kimchi does not overpower the broth(while still being spicy) and the tofu was soft and silky. We also ordered the seafood pancake and they were generous with the calamari and shrimp(it’s also a huge pancake — I recommend ordering it to share with at least 3 people as an appetizer.) The only dish that was disappointing was the dolsot bibimbap. The meat and veggies were at the bottom and the rice was at the top. It did not allow the rice to «crisp» as we typically prefer it. I want to emphasize again, the tofu soup is DELICIOUS and at $ 5 a bowl between 11AM-3PM(lunch special) it is a steal. Seriously, I would be a happy happy person if I could eat this soup all the time.

I thought this place was actually pretty good but in sort of a random area where there’s not too much going on at night. One of my favorite things about Korean food is definitely their soft tofu and this place did not disappoint as their tofu was almost this deliciously flavored soft but supple; smooth yet easily broken chunk in the soup. It was REALLY good. I can’t even describe the kind of tofu that was in my soup because I have yet to find it elsewhere. I was also a huge fan of their seafood egg fish cake appetizer as I went with a group and we ordered more than one since it was so good(the dipping sauce is especially important!). I was not the hugest fan of their BBQ meat which is also a second large component associated with Korean food for me. I guess this was okay since the rest of their foods made up for it more than so. They give you a lot more small dishes than most other Korean places I’ve been to and now that I think about it, I am dying for a bowl of their tofu!

Yum Yum Delish! Couple of super white girls venturing out for some yummy food and we were not disappointed. Still not a fan of Kim Chee, but the seafood pancake, kabli beef ribs and tofu mushroom soup were great. We also really like the tofu that came as one of the sides. Cute and full of what seemed to be regulars. Will definitely return.

Honestly, I have never been a huge fan of Korean food, but my best friend LOVES Korean food. She somehow convinced me to come to BCD, and I reluctantly accepted since we were coming from the Ranch 99 market, and I was soo hungry. Well I tried the pork BBQ dish(can’t remember the Korean name), but O EMGEE. It is to DIE for! That was a year ago, and I always get these weird cravings for it, and I always come back to BCD. It’s much cleaner than many other Asian restaurants I have been to and the service is GREAT! I always get greeted with warm smiles, and I feel like the staff really goes out of their way to make you feel like family when you are there. My friend totally has a crush on the cute waitress there(I think she is the middle sister). Anyways, I highly recommend this place! I am so glad I discovered it!

So it’s been a while since I’ve been here… but when I go back to Seattle, I make SURE I get to go here… otherwise I get sad :(Seriously though, this place is clean with original décor and bottom-line… GOODFOOD! Their friend chicken is perfect late at night with shots of soju. But their soon doo boo is definitely my favorite… even better than Hosoonyi!!! Yes, it’s true! Can I just say that LA has bomb Korean food… if you find yourself in Seattle missing that, just head to this little family-owned joint. You will find yourself satisfied.

Ok., if we’re talking about straight up Soft Tofu(soon doo boo) this place rocks. Flavorful with the right amount of kick. I’ve been coming here since 2001 and the food keeps me coming back. I love the service. This is a family run joint so TLC all over the place. Best in Class: Seafood Pancake, Fried chicken, and of Course the Mix soondoobooh(soft tofu). One thing, this place is small, so big groups are hard to swing. oh. big plus, most of the waitresses speak english fluently FTW!!! That really helps my white friends know that I’m not ordering monkey brains and pig feet. Great Korean food and a good selection of bar food as well. Dang… now I’m hungry. Sadly living in L.A. so it’ll be a while before I try BCD soft tofu again. Thank God for holidays with the family.

A friend of mine took me here cause I was in the mood for Korean food and we were both starving wayyy too much to wait for a table at Hoosoonyi. Boy was I surprised! This place was fantastic! The food was tasty, fairly authentic, and simply yummy! Great quality ingredients and they definitely know how to add flavor to their dishes! Staff was fantastic(which I don’t normally expect for a korean restaurant) and extremely helpful! I take my korean food seriously and would bring my korean friends here and know they’d enjoy the food(and that is saying something!)!

I went there for lunch today.(Sunday Afternoon) There are only other pair of customer when we went in, and another one came while we were eating. The food was decent. They have pretty much every kinds of Korean food including bibimbap, tofu soup and fried starch noodle. They also have a comb menu for drinking.(a dish+ Korean alcohol) We had a tofu soup and rice cake soup with some side dishes. Some of their stuff only for the summer.(such as the cold noodle) These side dishes are a little bit smaller than other Korean restaurants in the area, but the price range was pretty reasonable. The service was not bad at all. They came to refill water and side dishes which is a plus. It seems like they have lunch special(Tofu soup for $ 5) but we didn’t get it.

The soondoobu here is MUCH better than BCD next to the 99 Ranch Market and the one at Hosoonyi’s that is just down Aurora. Taste and content-wise it was satisfying and home-made. Yangnyum chicken(spicy fried chicken), kimchi pajun /haemul pajun, banchan(side dishes), and naeng myeon are also good choices. The waitresses are so nice –sisters in this family-owned business, so service is great. The food isn’t cheap, but since I’ve been coming here for a few years, it’s definitely worth it, since I know it’s a hit every time. :D

Small little place in a strip mall like setting. Its usually just a middle aged korean guy watching korean dramas waiting for you to arrive. Sometimes there is a waitress there to help. Everytime we go, its pretty much empty which I like, Dont go on fri or sat night unless you like crowds of azn wanna be thugs rollin in with their moms lexus thinking their the shiz. Anyways, the food is great, I always get the soon doo boo, my lady gets the gal bi tang which is a short ribs in broth with clear noodles and veggies. very good stuff. I never tried the hot plates but they look good but are pricey. If you never tried soon doo boo before, ya gotta try it once and this is a good place to start. update: went here again couple weeks ago and order the exact same thing we always do including extra couple cups of rice, our bill came out to be 5 bucks more for no reason, no itemized bill and they stated the price includes the extra rice, wtf? They never charged me before for two tiny little bowls of rice the last 10 times I went there, why now and why such crazy pricing? bad economy, I dunno whats next charge me for ice cubes in my water and not tell me? I just think its shady they slip it in and I wont be going back… maybe they had a bad day and wanted to charge for everything that day alone, I dunno… still they have great food, but so does the other dozen korean restaurants in the area and they dont charge for extra rice. ughhh
