This is to answer Judith G’s frustartions. It was a hot summer early evening when the sun was still shining all over everywhere and produced 108 degree of heat in August last year. I had an early dinner at Ginza. I also ordered few rolls and some tempuras to go to take home for my girl friend(Now wife). I live in Citrus Heights, I always eat there whenever I am visiting. The food is always good. On my way home I stopped by Walmart and get some supplies for about half an hour. I stopped by my Mom’s to pick up something and chatted for about 15 minutes. It took me another 20 minutes to drive home. When I gave the food to my wife, she kinda wondering where I got these rolls, I told her I got it from Ginza Sushi. She said” they are warm and fishy and the sauces are all melted, tempuras turned into marshmallows, no they aren’t from Ginza“ I realized that, I put the order on the front passenger seat and I stopped at Walmart for more than half an hour and Mom’s about 15 to 20 minutes and 20 minutes to drive home, that was over an hour that I had the sushi rolls being«cooked» by the hot sun. Sushi are very delicated food, especially most of the ingredients are raw and fresh, and they are supposed to be eaten soon as they were ready. There are few Sushi places in New York City they don’t offer take outs at all. In my case, after being«cooked» for that long, I had the same situation as yours Judith. Let me see, you live in Shingle Spring, quite a bit drive from El Dorado Hills, in September hot hot hot… I went back there many times, whenever I planned to order from there, I always brought a cooler filed with dry ice, and the food are always delicious. I just love this place.

Sadly I cannot agree with many of the reviewer’s ratings of Ginza Sushi. My first lunch there was DELICIOUS! Great service, wonderful food. Tempura was lacy and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Sesame chicken was delicious. All of the diners with me loved it! I’ve been there several times since, after bragging that it was«the best sushi place I’ve found since I left San Francisco and Santa Cruz(Takara)». Each time I’ve been there the service has been less friendly, the food less tasty, and the price more costly. Tonight we decided to give it one more try for a dinner take-out. $ 70.00 for three meals. The salad, packed separately, was wilted. The miso soup smelled and tasted fishy and greasy. The California Rolls tasted fishy, even though they are crab salad and not crab; the avocado was turning brown. Another sushi with shrimp, avocado and cream cheese was also very fishy. The sashimi was VERY fishy, and it’s not supposed to be. Sashimi should have a nice, clean smell, and this did not. The beef teriyaki was cooked well, but was gristly. The pork tonkatsu was cooked far too long and was very dry even with sauce. Everything was greasy. The sticky rice triangle was nicely formed and tasted pretty good, but had an oily texture. This was too much to pay for food of this quality. For this price I expected some pride and passion in the food, not just something thrown together. Sorry folks, I will have to look elsewhere to satisfy my love for Japanese food!

I had been here before and they made me a roll to my liking; I was able to tell them what I wanted in it because I couldn’t find one that I liked on their menu. I was charged $ 7.50 for that roll. This time I ordered the exact same thing and was charged $ 10. I asked what the price for a make your own roll was and wasn’t really given an answer. I told them last time I ordered the exact same thing and it was $ 7.50. The guy just said oh. When I got home the sushi roll was upside down because it had been tilted to go in the bag and it was missing some things I asked for in it. So I paid $ 11(with tax) and it didn’t even have what I asked. Very disappointed… will not be returning

The explosion roll is awesome, I eat out every day and I am there every time I’m in the area. You can’t beat 50 percent off sushi when it’s on that level

I checked Unilocal and found this strip mall sushi spot with a review average of 3.5 stars. I figured it wouldn’t rock my world, nor be completely offensive. I was surprised that I enjoyed it quite a bit. The food was good and wasn’t over sauced. The service surpassed most of my sushi restaurant experiences, and I liked that the restaurant was on the smaller side. This was a great spontaneous date-night spot. Not too busy, decent prices, good food, and good service.

Great sushi! We came in for a little snack to keep us going and we decided we should just stay for an early dinner! The fish is fresh and tastey and the rolls are good with nice sauces that don’t over power the fish. The sauces are also not full of Japanese mayo! I really like that because it keeps it lighter and more enjoyable. We got the Salmon Lovers 2x, Fireman roll minus the cream cheese and Extreme roll. Highly recommend.

This is the best sushi place EVER! I recommend the extreme roll if you want sushi and chicken chow mein if you don’t want sushi. I really recommend this sushi place!

First time coming here. Not a bad little spot. Decent atmosphere and pricing was average. At this point I can’t say it was amazing but still not bad. I’d say the only reason to return is the convenience of location.

they do just enough to get by. nothing special. rolls are bland and lack adventure. no amount of sriracha could spice them up. If you’re looking for good sushi I HIGHLY suggest to look elsewhere.

Well tonight was the last time for this restaurant. Never use their delivery service! Delivery quoted at 40 minutes took an hour and 15 minutes, items were missing from the order, roles were warm and hot food was cold. Enough said!

First time here. Came during Friday lunch hour and it was not busy. Just two or three other diners. And Err… worst sushi I ever had in my life!!! Sorry but true. The rolls were all rice! After removing the extra rice, for it to be edible… I ended up with a FULL plate of rice. It looked like I ordered a rice plate! Skimpy fillings. Sauces were subpar. Had to wash it down with several glasses of water. Found a short strand of white HAIR nestled in one of my pieces of sushi while I was removing the extra rice. Told my waiter and he thought I was joking until I gave him my plate. He confirmed that it was definitely a strand of white hair and went to say its weird because nobody working there has white hair. I have long dark hair. Definitely wasn’t mine. Question is… where did it come from if nobody around has white hair? That’s just disgusting. I literally wanted to vomit. The waiter apologized and threw away that roll, my plate and chopsticks. Then gave a new pair. Seriously!!! Did he think I was going to continue to eat? Not his fault but obviously I would not finish the rest. Asked for the check and nothing was removed from the bill… needless to say. I will not be patroning this restaurant ever again!

i needed a new place to eat sushi because honestly sushi in Folsom has gone to crap… i ordered the deluxe nigiri combo. the staff is so friendly and the owner(i think) was very funny. i’m kind of a nigiri snob. the rice was nicely seasoned and the fish was so fresh. my tuna was bright red(unlike the grayish tint i’ve gotten at other places) the amaebi was sweet and my favorite. the owner could see that i loved nigiri and told me about the made to order all you can eat on Monday and Tuesday. i definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves nigiri as much as i do~ changing my review to 3 stars. all you can eat is not worth it at all… they make the nigiri with super a lot of rice so you get full faster. 3 stars because i would maybe still order togo but i wouldn’t dine inside.

The staff was very nice and accomodating. They offered me water while I was waiting for a take out order. The menu was full of many sushi rolls I have not heard of before. It looked like a Mackuni’s menu, which looked promising. However, the angel roll and lion king roll were just blah. It’s all about the sauce. Still feel Aloha Sushi in Folsom has better sauces for some reason. They are sweeter and not overly mayonaisy or thick. This just didn’t taste as good. It wasn’t bad. But it didn’t make me want to come back. Also, I used a coupon and they charged me 15% more rather than deducting it from the bill. I had to call them and have them credit back my credit card… That was annoying. Still ended up paying $ 30 for two rolls and soup. It still would have been cheaper at Aloha with their 50% off rolls deal.

Visited Ginza twice this week. Food and menu have changed since I have been) over 2 years ago) Food is very great! would give 5 stars, but If it was prepared correct the 1st time would help. The first time this week my girlfriend ordered«make your own roll»(with brown rice) somehow miscommunication and had to wait 19 min for it come out, after I finished all my food(because it would get cold) Although the Walnut shrimp very tasty. In a situation where this happens a restaurant should show their appoligy by comping the lowest item on bill(soda, or the edamame$ 4.50). The server did a great job by catching it before serving the roll(don’t have a name). Pricing here is expensive compared to other sushi restaurants in El Dorado Hills. So the 2nd visit this week(Friday) we brought our family to show them how much we enjoyed the food, in hopes they would too. The same thing happened to my girlfriends«make your own roll» this time instead of having the sushi chef remake it because the restaurant was filling up quickly and they were very understaffed(not servers fault) They pushed her to eat the roll. She was very upset because this was not the first time but 2nd in ONE week which we told the server.. Also a veggie stir fry was ordered which after all food was delivered the $ 15+ stir fry did not arrive till 16min after our dinner. Tasted great, but would have been nice to have all food arrive at the table in or around the same time. there was nothing comped or anything(which Im not one to search for free anything but at least show consideration). The servers do a GREAT job good attitude. I hope owner can read this and if you take anything from this review, The food is GREAT, and you would greatly benfit adding at least 1 more server or at least a Server-Assistant(Busser) We will be going back to our Regular spot Kuma Sushi, Off 50hwy by Regal cinemas. They have great rolls, great service and pricing is very affordable. Keep :)‘ing
