Service was horrible. It was a Friday night and the waitress we had looked like she’s never waited tables. My food was not very good at all … Worst chile rellenos I’ve had at an authentic Mexican restaurant. The only good thing was the live mariachi band

This place had horrible food … Bad service and the plates they serve your food in look like children plates. And they have an entrance blocked up which is a fire hazard. Never going back again.

Last night my wife and I(and our dog) visited the Sunland Park Barrigas. First of all we had no choice but to bring our dog. We called ahead and asked if they could accommodate our pet. They said it was fine to have her on the patio. So we did. They cleaned a table for us on the patio and we had a wonderful meal. BTW this was the only place we could find that would allow the pet. They had a fastener near the table that allowed us to fasten the leash. Perfect! The chips and salsa arrived promptly and were delicious. The salsa was unusually tasty and spicy. We ordered the Mexican plates and after a reasonable wait the food arrived. Excellent! Wait staff keep our chips and tea replenished. All the items on the Mexican plate were quite good. Our favorite was the guacamole which was seasoned perfectly. The service was friendly and I thought everything was just right. This is a great place. This was our first time and we will definitely return. I cannot find a single thing to criticize and I am a picky person. The price was very fair for what we received.

Real Mexican food. Not Tex-mex. It was fantastic and i am very picky because we have excellent mexican food in Southern California. Live Mariachi. Great margaritas(big, in a goblet) for like $ 3. ONPOINT!

This was our first time trying this place, but i assure you, never again! After being seated and getting our drinks from what seemed like rude service already, we looked over the menu trying to figure it out. Although not rocket science, we were admittedly having problems with the menu, the waitress came by to ask what we were ordering about 4 times, each time we said a few more minutes she just walked away from the table. When asked what the specials were she had no idea and just said«chicken?» So we asked what chicken? She read the menu and read the first chicken dish and said«.ummm, yeah» When we finally ordered, our meal came out, she got my 4 year olds order wrong, my albondigas was just plain broth and meatballs, im sorry, thats not worth 12 $ no vegetables or avacado. When my husband went to speak to the manager, although he was very apologetic, did not come by our table to see what was wrong with the food, or ask what could be done to fix the issue. Instead he had a talk to our server, who then brought out ice cream for my 4 year old who had not even touched her food yet, and a flan. We were kind of confused to why they brought out desserts when we had not even eaten yet, the server responded with«these are free because i was being rude, i apologize.» Really? As we got up to leave(my daughter crying because she couldnt eat the ice cream she shouldnt have been served to begin with) the waitress gave us a check and showed that one was discounted expecting us to pay for something we didnt touch. The manager never came back out to resolve anything. With issues with our food, for them to bring out dessert, and embarrass the waitress and ourselves, nothing was remotely addressed. I wish i could give this less than 1 star, the whole experience start to finish was horrible. I would not recommend or return to this restaurant.

Ahhh Barrigas. Barrigas. Barrigas. Barrigas. The food is never a let-down and for that I applaud you. I’ll try another Barrigas in the future(I have yet to try the one in Juarez that everyone loves) and I think our personal history aside, you and I might one day become good friends, Barrigas. I pass this Barrigas on the regular so it was about time that we finally made a trip. Since it was my boyfriend’s daughter’s birthday, we thought it would be nice to make a reservation somewhere. He thought Barrigas was a good choice so I made the call. My only gripe with this Barrigas is the lack of professionalism and general customer service skills so here goes… I made the call. The hostess that answered(for some reason) didn’t know how to book a reservation. No, I don’t mean that in a way that she was stuttering and I’m just being rude, she literally said, «I don’t know how to do that.» There was a bit of silence on my end because I didn’t understand if that meant she was going to find someone or if she was about to hang up on me. After a pregnancy pause she finally said, «I’ll get a manager.» Okay. Good. A few minutes later and I was on with a manager who asked all the right questions. Great. Back to a good start. Then on the day of we arrived a little early to drop of the cake. The hostess riffled through the reservations book and found no reservation. Seriously?! A manager eventually came over. I attempted to verify with the manager that there was a reservation for us and he assured me we were in the«other» book. Why are there two reservation books? And why aren’t they both up at the front with the host that handles reservations? This seems impossible. Hours later we arrived and guess what? The«other» book wasn’t in the front so our reservation was nonexistent, but our saving grace was actually the cake. The cake had a reservation… an unknown reservation, but a reservation nonetheless. They seemed slightly aware that at some point in the night a party(of unknown size) would appear for the cake. Needless to say, we had to wait for our«reserved» table. I don’t want to dwell on the service, but the rest of the night service was two steps away from shitty. I had to grab our waiters attention in order for our table to order even though we’d been there for close to twenty minutes and I had to ask three different times for a box. The only thing that I can say our waiter did semi-okay was refilling our glasses as he hurriedly passed by. I ordered the Chamizal. It was fajita meat with a side of fresh onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. All around good and I’d come back for this. Also the chips and salsa were pretty good. Simply, the food was good. The experience as a whole had me a little ticked-off, but I’d go again because the food was authentically delicious and I feel like the service wouldn’t be so bad on a slow night. Also most of the dinner it was incredibly loud because we were right next to the speakers for their live singer and then there were the mariachis that sang right at your table. Right. At. Your. Table. I won’t be making another reservation any time soon, but points for them being accommodating even though they pretty much had no idea we were coming. You win some, you lose some. Hmmm… I feel like I’ve ended a review like that before.

Great food! This is as close as authentic Mexican as you will get unless you cook it yourself or cross the border to Mexico! Service could be better though!

I stumbled upon this restaurant sitting in a corner hill. They offer breakfast buffet but you can also order from the menu. I opted for the mole chicken since I’ve heard about it but never tried it. It’s served with rice and beans. The chicken was good with a little sweet/tangy taste to it. I would try different menu items here.

There is a nice atmophere here and it’s well decorated. The service is friendly as well, creating an overal relaxed and pleasant experience. The food is terrific, and well prepared. The daily margarita specials are nothing to complain about either. The Saturday and Sunday brunch is fun there, but it’s buffet food, so not as high quality as what you’d get off the menu. That’s to be expected at any buffet though. They DO however have made-to-order omeletes that are included in the buffet, and those are terrific! Overall, I’d recommend this place for a nice dinner or a fun weekend brunch with family or friends.

This is the go-to spot for us each time we’re in west El Paso. The service has always been fast and professional(FYI– most staff will greet and cater to you in Spanish) and their food/plate presentation is superb. I can’t say have had everything on their menu, but everything we’ve ever ordered has come out piping hot and has been de-lish. The place is tastefully decorated and bears a resemblance to some of the spots I used to frequent in Juarez back in the day. I love it! I enjoy the laid back atmosphere, which along with the food, keeps me coming back for more. Try the carnitas and a margarita to wash it all down. You will not be disappointed.
