Had a great diner. Staff were friendly. Would eat there again. For what I had the price was outstanding.

ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUSREALMEXICANFOOD. Service was fast. The place was very clean. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Highly recommend. We had beef flautas and Huevos rancheros. Both very good. Chile con queso appetizer was delicious! Authentic green chile with stringy white cheese. So good!

Good food overall, but mediocre to poor service. It was quite clear that the servers were friendly only to regulars or Spanish speakers. I had to wait half an hour to get my check after I had asked several times. when I went to pay the cashier couldn’t be bothered to get off the phone to finish the transaction. As to the food, it’s good, I will give them that, but nothing very special. Gorditas were good and the salsa Abrams chips and salsa were good. It’s just a shame these servers have something against non Spanish speakers. I won’t return because of the service.

Chicken tacos were perfect. Not overly greasy but still flavorful. Chile was tasty, too. The lady who helped me was so sweet and inviting, I’m assuming she was the owner. This place reminds me of home made food growing up. Definitely be coming back.

Been coming here for over 20 years whenever I’m I ELP. I always get the Mole Poblano. Just melts I your mouth, chicken and mole are amazing. Love it. Super casual. I’m frequently the only native English speaker but everyone here is super nice. Looking forward to my next mole here …

An excellent Mexican restaurant. So good, I ate dinner here two nights in a row. Excellent service – attentive and courteous. The Mexican Plate #1 is fabulous. A beef taco, chile relleno, beef taco, and rice and beans, all of them terrific and under $ 10. The pico de gallo is outstanding. I highly recommend this place!

It was good and had a good kids menu. Plates were mostly under $ 10 and the food was plentiful. Not fancy and I was worried when I went in because it was mostly white folks… Figured that meant mediocre Mexican, but no, it was pretty good. Tacos and enchiladas were my favorites. Tamales were ok and the rellenos were good, too. Booths and tables for seating. The chips and dips served at seating were great!

I am not sure where all of the 3+ star ratings came from … Perhaps family and friends? My wife’s enchiladas were very dry and tasteless and my carnitas were extremely fatty. A disappointing meal as we were expecting more based on the reviews. Restaurant was very empty.

This place is ok, but I will be in search of other Mexican places when i am back in El Paso. I was in El Paso for work and was recommended this place from the hotel, as it was close by. The pico and guac were super yummy and i was excited for my #1 Mexican platter to sample the other stuff. The taco was pretty good, but i wasnt really into the chile rellano or the cheese enchiladas that came with. I ended up finishing the taco and then the guac /pico /chips that i started with. I wasnt even a fan of the beans and rice, I hate to even utter this next sentance, but I think the beans may have been canned! At least thats how they tasted. If I were back I’d stick with tacos.

As a visitor from NC I was looking for Tex Mex. Nice atmosphere, and the Gorditas I had were seasoned well and both the chicken and the beef had authentic flavor. I recommend!

This place was delicious!!! We’re from out of town and a friend recommended this place. Thank goodness he did! I got the chicken flautas which were more like taquitos, but no big deal they were so good. My husband got the #1 Mexican plate and said he loved it! Different taste than what we’re used to, but awesome none the less…

Holy Salsa! Tourist looking for good Mexi good. Strip mall sit down with large booths. amazeball salsa & enchilada sauce had a real kick. Gritty tamales were very authentic. Delighted when live music started on Sat. Eve. About $ 7 – 10 for plated meal with chips and salsa. Glad I found this jewel.

This was a satisfying meal. Authentic ‘country’ cooking, if I may borrow an American term for Mexican food. Simple food without a lot of fuss. Service is amazing. The queso bowl was very different from what I’m used to — and I really liked it. I’ve been here twice for lunch this week(here on business) because there isn’t much in the area that is good(weird for an airport) unless you want fast food. I’ll eat here again, I’m sure, when I return on business. The staff were friendly, prompt, and attentive without being in your face. Prices were reasonable — not super cheap, but not expensive either.

I happened to be in El Paso and was looking for some«authentic Mexican food»(whatever that means, as I’m no expert) and arrived about 8:30PM on a Friday night. The parking lot was very full, presumably because of the comedy club next door, and the restaurant was at about half capacity. Thankfully, they had a few reserved spaces for the restaurant directly in front that were open.(Incidentally, as it took some searching on the internet prior to my arrival, the posted hours as of the date of this review are as follows: M-Th 11:00AM — 9:00PM, F 11:00AM — 9:30PM, Su Closed. One half hour before 9:30PM, though, they flipped the sign in front of the restaurant to «closed», so I assume they either have a half hour at the end where they must not take new customers or they’ve changed their hours and haven’t updated their window.) A live Mexican 3-piece string band was playing and singing but at a good volume: not too soft, not too loud, and you could still easily hold a conversation if you weren’t seated directly next to them. Upon sitting down(it was«seat yourself»), I was attended to immediately for my drink order but, unfortunately, when I ordered a diet soda, I was told by the waiter that they only had Coke, and by that I mean just Coke and not that I’m one of those folks that gets offended if a restaurant has Charmin toilet paper in their bathroom when I’m a Cottonelle type of guy. Their menu had a number of Pepsi products listed but the waiter advised that they were in the process of switching back to Coke products and as a result, they only had Coke itself. I was a little disappointed but I am not gonna hold that against them. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea, which proved to be tasty and satisfying. The waiter brought the obligatory chips and 2 types of salsa. The first, a pico de gallo of chopped jalapeño/tomato/onion mix which was a little too watery for my liking that ultimately hendered the flavor a bit. The second was a green chile salsa that just tasted like cooked green chiles. Neither was bad, but they each needed something else to make them memorable. I ordered a side of guacamole which, after some salt added from the table, was actually not too bad. I know some folks are watching their sodium intake these days, but I really dislike having to add anything to food at the table, so they lose some points there. I originally was going to order the«Mexican Plate #1», figuring that it would be a good sampling of Mexican flavors and then I saw it… «Tongue with Spanish Sauce». I usually have to wait for my Mom to cook tongue during Christmas(a dish I oddly have never had to fight anyone over… Huh… Anyway…) and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it on a menu so, after confirming with the waiter that it was beef tongue, I had to try it to compare to the American countryside version. It turned out to be very good. Again, the«spanish sauce» was a little watery and lacked a lot of flavor, but the way the tongue was thinly sliced and cooked allowed it to stand on its own.(By the way, if you’ve never tried beef tongue you are truly missing something. If you can get past the idea of what it is and give it a try, you will find that it is a very tender and flavorful meat that is uniquely tasty.) Anyway, the tongue was accompanied with Spanish rice and refried beans, both of which were good as well. Overall, the food wasn’t bad, the prices were very good, the quantity of food was good, drink refills were free and the restaurant was nice and clean. With a little tweaking of some of their recipes, I think they could earn at least another half star or so.
