La Playita

Food has always been good when we come. We had the Ceviche tostadas and 7 mares soup. All good.

They have the best shrimp cocktal that I have had in El Paso. And the place smells clean. I will for sure come again. One more thing our service was great.

This place is awful! DO NOT EAT HERE! My mom and I were looking for a quick place to eat because we had a hungry crying baby and The Burrito House across the street was already closed so we stopped here. Our waiter came by to take our order (did not bring any chips and salsa), but did not ask us what we wanted to drink. I had to tell him what we wanted before he walked away. As we waited for our food, it took 12 minutes for our drinks to come out and then he decided to tell us that they were out of iced tea. The place was filthy, there were tables that had not been bussed yet and only one other table was eating so it’s not like they were busy. The bus boy who cleaned off the tables AND the restrooms was actually in the back preparing food. DISGUSTING! Once the food came out, he set the plates on the other side of the table instead of in front of us. My chicken enchiladas were full of fat and the meat was dark colored and stale. They had no cheese on them. Apparently cheese doesn’t come with them because I ordered chicken. The rice was cold and hard. I hardly ever complain, but when the waiter came to the table I asked him for a manager. The manager came out and was not very friendly. I told him about the chicken and he was trying to argue that it was fresh and then just said «well I’m sorry.» I also told him about the drinks and chips and salsa and he walked away. As I got up to pay right after that the waiter had the nerve to actually charge me for the full plate of food I sent back! I made him take it off and I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK. The food is cheap, but I would have rather spent my money elsewhere.
CONS: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE TASTING FOOD, LACK OF ATTENTION, DIRTY RESTAURANT AND THE HORCHATA IS GROSS.

I enjoyed the food very much. The prices were good and the food was out quick. The only issue I had was the lack of service. Once we had our food, the waitress was out of sight.

Service is slow but prices are good. This is my first time and I am impressed by how clean it is. The food is good as well.

I’ve been coming to El Paso since 2007 and I’ve stopped at Playita’s every time I visit. The food is very authentic and I really enjoy it. They offer complimentary chips and salsa which is always a plus.
I’m a huge fan of shrimp cocktails and this place offers a very tasty one. My girlfriend and I shared a small portion which had plenty of big shrimp in a red sauce with lime, avocado, cilantro and onions. It is a great value as is all food on the menu.
Their cheese enchiladas are great. The tortillas are soaked in a tasty red sauce and prepared well. I also got the beef tacos which are very fresh. The shell is fried and warm when you get your plate. Since I ordered a combo plate, it included very tasty re-​fried beans and Spanish rice. For dessert, we had tres leches that was very tasty.
Our waitress was very polite, attentive and made the experience that much better.
Great price, great portions and great people. I recommend this place.
