My experience here was ok.
Pros– The receptionist (who I think may also be a stylist) was very friendly and helpful. I was able to get an appointment quickly and for the time I needed it. They offer you water and coffee upon arrival.
Cons– Sadly, I was not completely happy with my haircut. I did call once I got home and really looked at my hair. I asked if I could come back in. Stylist was open to seeing me. But due to the way the conversation went, and me still being on a time crunch, I decided to go elsewhere. My haircut was not «bad», it just didn’t turn out the way I wanted.
New in town– Finding a new stylist is like finding a new Dr., there’s lots of them but not all of them are right for you.

Awesome! I have been going to Mark @ Mark Alan Salon for a couple of years now. Not only are his prices reasonable — the service is beyond fantastic.
Mark’s color and cuts are unlike anything else in El Paso. I moved here from Santa Barbara and had a hard time finding anyone that could match the skill set of my previous hairdresser — and then voila = Mark!
Also be sure to try a facial! HEAVEN

Great place for men’s haircut! The best in El Paso
I recently moved to El Paso from Manhattan in June. In NYC good salons were on every corner; but here in El Paso it took me a few terrible* haircuts before I found Mark’s salon. *when I say terrible I mean absolutely horrific. As if it was that person’s first time cutting hair.
Mark was very busy that day, but was able to squeeze me in with short notice. Mark took his time, paid attention to detail and we ended up with a fantastic end product. This will definitely be the only place I get a haircut in El Paso from now on. Plus, his prices are very reasonable. I forgot the exact amount but I believe it’s $ 20 – 21.
As a young professional I need a sharp haircut; I am confident Mark will consistently do a great job. Will be back very soon for a haircut before an upcoming wedding!

The big take away from my review: Mark Alan pays attention to detail & has great work ethic.
As a new client, some of my initial concerns were: Is he going to cut off too much of my hair? Will my highlights be too chunky and artificial looking? Will he match the existing color I have in my hair? Is he going to consider the possibility of my hair breaking?
I asked for full high-​lights & low-​lights and I thought it would be a challenging task considering I had existing partial high lights in my hair.
I was worrying for no reason because Mark exceeded my expectations by:
— Keeping note of my concerns and what I wanted
— Using specific developers in certain sections of my hair to achieve consistency in the highlight pattern & shade
— Using a conditioning treatment to reduce the potential of breakage
— Checking on how my hair was taking the color on a frequent basis to ensure right timing
— Making sure that my hair was washed good
— Trimming my hair straight and dry so he could cut off the least amount possible while layering my hair the way I wanted
— Using an effective de-​tangler to avoid breaking my hair while brushing it
I am confident that anyone who comes here will be in good hands. I’ve been getting my hair highlighted/​colored for over 10 years now and I am a very picky person!!!

Mark is exceptional and he obviously loves what he does. If you want a fantastic cut and if you are having problems with color and want the best then call Mark. So happy I found you and won’t let you go until you fire me or we have to move. LOL. If Mark goes missing from the El Paso area then hunt me down because I might take him with me. Honestly the best!!!

Mark had a full schedule the day I wanted my haircut but he still accommodated me! He cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted, was very knowledgable in his field, and very polite. First cut was also 25% off! I will definitely be returning in the future for all my hair care needs!

Mark was Superb! Kudos nice to see a new touch to El Paso it’s truly an original experience. He gave my little one a haircut for a back to school look and left it looking great and feeling so soft!

Great salon! I came in with bleached ends with faded pink on them, which had obviously caused a lot of damage, and came out with soft, evenly colored, shiny hair. Also, I had my eyebrows waxed a few weeks earlier by someone who valued the chola pencil brow look and I had them cleaned up while leaving the brows to fill back in. I usually turn red and stay that way for a few hours but the artist was so gentle and I hardly got red at all! Overall a great experience, you won’t be disappointed! Also, they give 25% off your first visit!

Finally! A great salon with decent prices! Mark is awesome and knew exactly what I wanted without me saying much. The color is spot on and the cut is superb. I am glad I found this place!

I had a really great experience at Mark Alan. I went to him when he was at the Beauty Market and I couldn’t picture going anywhere else. He is very open to you as a client and is very professional. Highly recommend.
