$ 40 bucks for 4 dishes(Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, chicken chow mein and combination fried rice). Food came quicker than expected and service was friendly. Nothing was awful, but the food was far from stellar. — Mongolian beef was more than half onions! It was spicier than most places but just a disappointment as far as portion size. — Sesame chicken was an ultimate fail. No sauce, tiny pieces of chicken and WAY too much breading. — Chicken chow mein was a little bland but otherwise ok. — Combination fried rice had TWO pieces of shrimp. Otherwise it was ok, portion was huge. Probably won’t give them my business again, especially when my local favorite is less expensive and way better tasting.

The Walnut Prawns were amazing!!! This was the first time I’ve eaten here so I took a chance and ordered several dishes,(ok, I admit it! I did my grocery shopping!) and all were uniquely delicious. The portions are HUGE! My fridge and belly are full and happy! The staff was friendly and helpful. Delivery was faster than estimated, too. Will definitely order again!

Found Royal Palace by accident after having a mad craving for some salt and pepper fish filet. Unilocal says it’s open until 9:30 but when I called, they closed at 9. Just half an hour to fill my bellyyyyy. The gentleman on the phone was kind of abrupt, kind of rushed me to order. But the lady that gave my my order and processed by payment was very kind. And the food was bomb! Salt and pepper fish filet– salty and spicy and crunchy. One of my favorite dishes. Szechuan chicken– the sauce on the chicken was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. HUGE order. Potstickers– I like mine fried ’til their crisp and I think these were steamed? Regardless, the boyfriend really liked these. Hong Kong style chow mien with beef– this was my least favorite, which doesn’t mean much cause it was still delicious. There wasn’t enough sauce on the noodles so they were mostly crunchy. But the beef was tender and the sauce was flavorful. I snagged a paper menu cause I’ll definitely be ordering here again.

Royal Palace Restaurant is actually quite big on the inside. There weren’t many people dining at the time when I went for lunch on a Saturday. We ordered the fook chow fried rice, sizzling rice soup, and the chicken and Chinese vegetables. The fook chow fried rice used egg whites instead of the yolk in their gravy sauce. I don’t really have a preference but it makes the dish a lil bit healthy for using egg whites instead. My boyfriend actually liked their fook chow fried rice better than other places because they didn’t drown the fried rice in gravy, even though he normally likes it with a lot of gravy. They also added egg whites to the sizzling rice soup, which is kinda odd but it still tasted good with the egg whites in it. Their sizzling rice soup included zucchini, mushroom, and carrots. We also ordered the chicken and Chinese vegetables. The Chinese vegetables that it came with was bok choy. There was an even amount of chicken and Chinese vegetables in the dish. Overall, service and food was good.

I’ve never eaten here but order for delivery frequently. Their Hot & Sour soup is delicious and nice and chunky — my favorite. A large is 2 large containers, so unless you need a lot, order a med. Honey walnut prawns are really good too, along with the Kung pao chicken or beef. Mongolian beef is good but LOTS of onions so beware. We get sweet and sour pork or chicken too, which is decent. The only thing I’ve ordered that I didn’t like was their orange chicken — it’s breaded fried chicken with some orange slices with it, not a sauce like you would typically get elsewhere. All in all its good and usually comes fast when ordering in.

Unilocal sure failed me again. NASTY place, dirty, forgetful staff. What sort of sesame chicken dish is sliced so thin, there are barely ANY meat on it, and has more honey and sesame? How is the rice taste like left over reheated rice? Ugh. Overall, horrible, nasty, DISAPPOINTMENT. #don’tgohere i wish I can give it a no star.

Have been going here for years!!! They cook without MSG. The food is always tasty and fresh. They have always accommodated any dish changes. They are very friendly and polite. There is a reason why there establishment is often rented out for parties.

The food is good. Not the best of all time but good enough to keep me coming back. Staff is very friendly both over the phone and in person. And best of all they deliver in an extremely timely manner.

This has been my favorite authentic Chinese Food restaurant since I was young. Salt & Pepper Fish with fried rice is by far the best.

I love this place, the only problem is that the last two times I ordered food it was really bland. No flavor. I didn’t even eat the food. I called to leat them know and they didn’t care of what I thought. If they fix the flavor to how it was before I would give you 5 stars.

Was looking for a Chinese restaurant late at night close to our hotel. Went into this place abd was completely satisfied. The prawn string bean was great and the vegetable medley sauce was awesome. Service was great, our water was never empty and the staff was super friendly.

We will never go back to eat at this restaurant after having been a regular for years before. Our last meal was for a Sunday lunch last May 2015. We ordered fried fish(the whole fish) and some other items. The food came very quick(within 10 minutes). There was a certain«smell» on the fish indicating that it was not freshly cooked. Fried fish that would just have been cooked would be hot, but our fish order was not hot at all. In fact, the smell that came from the fish seem to indicate that the fish was prepared earlier(maybe even the day before). I mentioned this to the waiter but he had no comment. I was afraid that I probably ate«old and unhealthy» food from this fried fish order. I told myself and my family that this was the last time that We would eat at this restaurant. Never again would I pay for such a «bad» eating experience!

*I have never actually eaten here or have seen the restaurant inside or out BUT I’ve gotten delivery from here at least a dozen times! This is our go to chinese food delivery spot! They always get our order right and charge us the right amount The food is hot and fresh tasty We don’t have to repeat things a gazillion times to each other over the phone The ETA’s are always spot on Hong Kong style chow mein is a favorite! All the other foods we’ve gotten are up to par with other spots we’ve eaten at Whoever delivers is always nice and even tries to spark a conversation with my 2 year old son!

Am I finally reviewing the restaurant my family has been going to for years now? Why yes I am, as Royal Palace has been a mainstay with me and my family for years now. I honest can’t remember the first time I ate here because it’s been so many years now. For the most part, it’s always take out over here. They’re pretty good on having our food ready and packaged all nice right when we walk in to pick it up. When we do eat in, it’s always pretty fantastic service in a clean restaurant. Kinda the typical Chinese restaurant setup they’ve got set up over here. Food is the best part though. They’ve got some amazing fried rice. Don’t really know what they do differently here than the rest, but it just tastes better. Mongolian beef is the best thing ever as well, and their wontons are to die for. Now, I’m no Chinese food conoisseur or anything, but this is the kind of restaurant that makes me feel at home. Been having it for so long now, that it just feels like a part of life now. Call this a biased review if you will, but I’ll probably always be a patron of the restaurant.

The food is not great, but it is cheap for a sit down Chinese place. The chow mein is bland, the hot and sour soup is neither hot nor sour, and the Szechuan chicken is disappointing. If you want to sit down for some cheap Chinese, go here, but if you don’t mind spending a bit more, go to Uncle Chung’s. The staff is very friendly.

This place is your typical Chinese restaurant and more catered towards the non-Chinese crowd. So why the four star then? For starters their lunch specials are very good and price cheap. A typical lunch special tops out at $ 6.00, and this includes soup(usually egg soup or hot and sour) that’s not too flavorful but then again it doesn’t taste full of MSG, egg rolls(egg roll not much filling) and your choice of white or fried rice, chow mein and a side. I chose the Szechuan prawns(they were a bit too tangy for me though) and they do give you a generous portions. The shrimp was of decent size and didn’t taste mushy. The chow mein was freshly made and pipping hot. Overall their food is surprisingly good and it’s not MSG heavy.

After 10 years, I’m back. When I used to live in Richmond, this is the only Chinese place that my family and I used to come eat at. I’m surprised that the family that runs this place still remembers us. My family goes out to basketball tournaments and comes here on the way home, but yesterday was the first time I’ve been back after 10 years. Thankfully, it’s still as delicious as I remember. –Chinese Chicken Salad: Crunchy fried chicken on top of a very peanuty, sour, and tangy spread of salad –Sweet and Sour Chicken: I never understood why sweet and sour automatically meant red dyed meat. The meat here had a brown sauce that was sweet and sour. They are fried to perfection before being coated with sweet and soury goodness. –Salt and Pepper Fish: Light pieces of fish fried to perfection. And when I mean perfection, I mean you can pop them into your mouth and get a quick bite before you are basically chewing on fish. It’s so light and delicious! –Garlic Bok Choy: Not tough at all and a great coating of garlic to satisfy any garlic lover, including my sister! –Tomato Beef Chow mein: Usually there is a thick coating of sauce on the noodles wherever I go. Here, it’s like the flavor is infused into the noodles and tomatoes and tender slices of beef are just added. My dad told me I had one of my birthdays here and that we used to get food delivered from here? We lived pretty far from this place too… How to describe this place? Nostalgic, light, perfect, flavorful? I will usually hold my Chinese food standards to this place.
