Ciro’s Italian Eatery

Stumbled upon this place while searching for a Redbox while vacationing at Massanutten Resort. We really enjoyed it… had the pizza and was not disappointed. While there was a small issue with our order, our waitress handled it to our satisfaction without our even asking. We did have refills on tea.

The family and I were pleasantly surprised with the delicious pepperoni pizza and steak & cheese subs. I was expecting it to be «ok» not great. No offense but it is not the big city but oh my GOD was I wrong. The food was amazing, so amazing we decided to have it two days in a row. :-)

What a great Find !!! Could not believe we found such a great Italian outside of a city. We ordered spaghetti with bolognese sauce, chicken cacciatore and Pollo picatta. All dishes were amazing. Chicken was moist on both chicken dishes. Pasta cook to perfection. Even the salads that came with the dishes were fresh. To top it off. We ordered the tiramisu, my fav dessert, didn’t disappoint us. I wish I have this rest near my house. I’m not a big Italian food person, but this was superb.

Some of the worst Italian food I have ever had! I hardly ever comment on food and this I will. The salad and breaded mushrooms were good, but the spaghetti and the shrimp Alfredo was horrible. Soda/​tea no refills.

We recently had our annual company dinner here. You can taste the freshness of the food. Quality is not compromised in anyway. Joanne was friendly and attentive. In fact, the whole staff was. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This restaurant did not live up to the high marks it received. It took about 10 minutes for our server to approach our table. The kitchen and the wait staff seem to poor communication. The food came out quickly except the food for the 3 year old. Her food came when everyone was done and it didn’t seem to be a big deal to the wait staff. My daughter asked for some sauce after her pasta (which was supposed to have butter and cheese) came out dry. After asking several times, the sauce finally came out when the check was delivered. The food was average Italian food. Not worth the time or expense. Maybe we should have ordered a pizza

Have eat here for years. The quality of the food is still great but very disappointed with the shrinking portions over the past months.

Cheesesteak was good but not great. Will need to come back and try more dishes. I have heard good things about the Italian dishes, and it probably is one of the better places in the area that isn’t over $ 25 a person.

This place hits the spot every time. I have been eating Mike’s food since I was a kid and he was located in the ShenElk Plaza. His pasta is cooked in a way that every chef envys, all of his sauces are phenomenal and his produce is always on point. The wine selection is something I didn’t appreciate until I lived in Northern California for a few years. The bar is the way to go.

Delicious food and excellent service! We were in a hurry and they allowed us to place our order while we waited for a table. When we were seated (just 10 min later) our food came right out. Our kids loved our dinner so much they ended up sharing with us. We will definitely return on a future trip to the resort!

Picked up a bunch of take out for dinner last night. It was solidly mediocre. «Meh,» was my daughter’s review. «What did we have last night?» asked my boys.

Great italian food. We love Aaron so much we had dinner at the bar. Capers salad was fresh and the aldo’s special was amazing.

This place was a blessing on my recent trip to the Shenandoah area. My first night in the area, I randomly picked a pizza place and was extremely disappointed in the food. After that, I searched for a good Italian restaurant and it was rather difficult to find one. Came across Ciro’s on Unilocal and gave it a shot. The salad, appetizer, and pasta entrée were all great. They customized my pasta per my request and it was exactly what I wanted. The staff were very friendly and fun (it was Halloween and everyone was in a costume). I will definitely be treating Ciro’s as my go-​to restaurant when I am in the area (even if I am likely to order the same food every time — that’s just me).
The only reason I am giving four stars rather than five is, I have only dined at this restaurant one time, as it is not local for me.

This was the newest restaurant in town and I’ve never been. All the workers were nice, we had 3 different servers come by to check on us. The décor reminded me of Olive Garden. Nonetheless it was still an inviting family sit down place.
I ordered their calamari to start and it was pretty good. It was cooked just right and easy to eat, not chewy. The only gripe I had was that it wasn’t seasoned enough, a little more seasoning on the batter would have been perfect. I had to squeeze a little more lemon on each bite. For the main dish I ordered the BIANCA pizza since I love spinach in my pizza. I was very surprised that the sizes were on the larger side. I added a meat pepperoni topping to this since it is a veggie style pizza. The dough was definitely on the dense side, so be prepared to get full. The pizza was missing something though as I reached for my drink several times after a few bites. It’s missing bold tomato and herb flavors as I could only taste the veggies, cheese and pie. Maybe some oregano or something would have helped. It was still good and I was full in the end. I ended up taking the pizza home since if I ate more I would have ended up in a food coma in the restaurant.
An average restaurant but I would go back to try their other dishes.

We will be back! The staff was courteous and helpful both promptly bringing drinks and offering suggestions. We had the baked lasagna, calzone, and the tortellini.
Honestly, we may have been overly hungry, but the Cesar salad was AMAZING! The portions were very large and the calzone was enough for two.
Fried cheesecake? Oh yes! Caramel and chocolate sauces too.

In the area and craving Italian? Ciro’s is a lovely choice. We started off with breaded mushrooms as an appetizer. The mushrooms have a medium-​heavy breaded batter and are accompanied with a ranch dressing.
I had the spaghetti marinara which was delicious. Sautéed garlic chips were visible and added a delicious aromatic layer to the simple sauce. Wifey had the «small» stromboli which can easily be 3 meals! She loved it.
Service was slightly on the slower slide.

Table of 10 & a baby and we loved all of our meals, best restaurant in the Massanutten resort area we’ve had in a week. It’s a must try :)

Tonight my husband and I tried Ciro’s in Elkton, VA. He had a small hand tossed pizza with pepperoni. He really enjoyed it as I don’t eat pizza anymore.
About 2 years ago, I was advised by a doctor to eliminate gluten from my diet. I am not celiac, but gluten intolerant. So, we don’t eat at many Italian places anymore.
I’ve missed Italian food so I decided to give Ciro’s a try. I ordered the chicken (pollo) cacciatore for $ 13.95. This was chicken cutlets with three colors of peppers and mushrooms topped with marinara. It also came with salad, penne, and garlic bread. I asked if the penne could be replaced with a steamed veggie and the waitress said broccoli could be substituted. The broccoli was cooked with garlic which I do at home so I was very happy. The Cesear salad was standard, the chicken and veggies excellent.
Downside, we were seated at the «bar» at a high table next to the kitchen doors. My husband doesn’t mind tables like these, but our table top was too small for all the dishes they served — don’t accept these tables unless you are only having appetizers and drinks.

The two stars is only for the décor and friendly staff. The food was average at best and I had a bug in my ice which the waitress didn’t seem to think was a problem. Won’t return, do not recommend.
