Woodstone Deli & Pizza

They do not deliver as advertised on their fliers! When I called to try to order delivery the gal who answered the phone made a snarky sound when saying «uh, yeah, we don’t deliver». Then why put it in the menus?!? Food was okay. We had two platters (half rack ribs & pulled pork). Sauce was bland but rest of food was good.

We were at Virginia BBQ and Pizza in October 2015. Ordered the spicy chicken pizza with pepper. Thought that they meant bell peppers, but it was black pepper and kind of a barbeque sauce. Worst pizza that I have ever had … couldn’t even eat it and I am not picky!

The name has changed over the past year. It is now Virginia BBQ and Pizza. Their mediocre pizza is only surpassed by the dreadful BBQ. I had the beef brisket while my wife had the BBQ ½ chicken. The beef was well over 50% fat. I sliced off over ¹⁄₃ pound of greasy fat. The beef was very rare (red and bloody). My wife took one slice into the chicken and the inside was under cooked and dripping blood (not clear juice that would indicate properly cooked fowl). The only good thing to say was the cole slaw was passible and the baked beans from a can were edible.
I have enjoyed a number of BBQ restaurants across the United States (Duke’s, Carolina BBQ, Dickies, Famous Dave’s: to name a few). This place is by far the worst BBW I have ever had. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Awful food… Completely frozen heated up junk. Stayed at the resort, ate there 1^st day for lunch with the kids & I wanted my $$$ back!!!

The pizza tastes terrible. The cinnamon bread was just burnt pizza crust with cinnamon poured on it. I would definitely not recommend this place.

The pizza was nothing to write home about but the Philly steak and cheese was delicious. Staff not friendly and took a long time to get our food.

This review is solely based on my breakfast experience: my family of three came here today and ordered the biscuits and gravy with a hash brown and the French toast sticks. Each meal was about 5 $, so prices were fantastic. The portions were way more than I expected for $ 5. I mean we were able to split our meals and just give some to our child, but still be full on just half of the meal. That’s pretty awesome. And lastly the quality… Great flavor and definitely great quality. The hash browns tasted homemade as opposed to frozen ones. Literally everything tasted super fresh. I will definitely return and try them for lunchtime!

We got take out here the other night. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t fabulous. The 16″ pizza is a good size. Not bad pricing considering how big it is. We tried the Greek. I liked it okay. Not enough to want to order it again during our visit though. Would I pick it over one of the generic chain places though? Yeah, probably.

We had a 12′ pie today with extra cheese and pepperoni. The cheese and seasoning was good but the dough was horrible. It seemed like it was either under cooked or school lunch pizza dough. For $ 18 I would think the pie would have been better. Would I try again… maybe not.

The pizza at Woodstone is good quality for a decent price. Freshly made dough and quality ingredients. The delivery is decent for being at Massanutten and got to us in under 45 minutes. The 12 inch is a little small and I highly recommend a salad with it. Their house-​made balsamic dressing is fantastic!

We didn’t want to go out to eat so my husband drove down to pick up a pizza at the Woodstone. He said the kitchen area at the deli was dirty with pizza pans laying all over the floor since the people weren’t cleaning up after themselves due to being busy or overworked with pizza orders. He told me that and I didn’t want to eat my pizza. I asked him if he said anything but he did not. The pizza was okay but that was in the back of my mind. Just not sure what to think about that.
