Pop’s Italian Beef and Sausage

There are lots of this kind of fast food restaurants around, most of them don’t have good foods, but most of them have very good, fresh cut, restaurant style fries, Pop’s Beef is one of the few places have better everything except fries. Yes, they have average, frozen fries.

Not sure what happened. Used to be good food and service but not anymore!!! Stay away from the chicken soup. Like it plopped out of a can no flavor. Don’t ask for something on the side, you won’t get it. And DON’T dare call to talk to a manager cuz she will just argue with you. WON’T BE BACK! Need to give 0 star option

Sorry. not coming back. Ordered 2 cream of chicken soups… nasty…tasted like from a can. Parts of the order was missing. Called to let the manager know, but she argued about everthing. Wouldn’t listen. Save your money. go elsewhere!

Found out about this restaurant because of a request from our out of state family member. He is very ill and we want to make him happy. We are on a road trip from IL to TN and were asked to bring a breaded steak sandwich which I’ve never tried or even heard of. A web search looking for restaurants with this sandwich in the menu brought us here. Got there 20 min before closing and were greeted warmly. The employee who took our order knew exactly what we needed and quickly put our order together in such a way that it should travel very well and even wished us a safe trip. What a wonderful customer service experience. I won’t be trying the food this time, but if I’m in the area again, I will definitely return.

Stopped in yesterday for dinner after my wife wanted a Gyro & our reg local spot don’t sell them. Great Food even for a family of 7 on a Budget. I had the breaded steak sandwich special & wife had the super gyro, Plus she gave half to me lol. The kids had the 4 hot dog special with fry’s & Even ask for a 2^nd order which they rarely do so that is a A++++ in my book. It was clean & well lit, very inviting. Will be visiting again in the near future as i have signed up for text & email specials so hopefully they come soon!!! Please pass on my thanks to the managers & staff at this location. I went here for my lunch break with my boyfriend. our first time here so I tried the gyro. it was so good and the thin fries with cheese were delicious. Fast service and no complaints here.

Great food, daily deals. Always large portions. Staff is always friendly. Fries are just OK

Italian beef, Windy City style with hot peppers and motzerella cheese with a side bad of fries — delightful.
We also had the breaded steak sandwich. This is just plain awesome and filling. I will be back.

Food was average. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. I got the 9 in super Italian beef and fries.
The beef was ok but that’s all it was… just ok. And the fries are decent. Prices are cheap… except $ 2 and something cents for a small drink. That’s crazy. If you are starving and at the intersection I’d say give it a try, otherwise save your appetite and go somewhere else.

Decent prices, great Chicago style hotdog and thin crispy fries.
The gyro was one of the best I ever tasted.

Next time I’ll try the beef.

Came in today passed by a lot was in the mood for a gyro came in received fast service and a good gyro the super gyro was big enough for two and the frys the same way good food at a great price so if your in the mood for a good gyro around the area this is the place.
I have not found a good gyro in the area til now

Thin crispy fries. Had a gyros and it was perfect. Prices are really low. Perfect amount of sauce, tomatoes and onion. The meat portion was very generous. They have a super gyro and I bet it is a monster!

We were having lunch here the other day when my friend commented that there really would be no reason to ever eat here. Even though the food here is pretty cheap, if he only had $ 5.00 to his name he would rather eat a hotdog at Portillo’s and drink a glass of water. The only reason he could think of to eat here was if he lived next door, in one of the houses behind the parking lot, and his car was broken down. I’d have to agree. After eating here a couple of times I can’t think of any reason to come back. The hot dog was decent, but the fries are not good. Someone told me the gyros were tasty, and I probably should have tried them, but when you can get two hotdogs with fries for $ 5.00 you’re tempted to try them. Maybe next time … if there ever is one.

Ordered corned beef brisket meal. If you’re looking something like a rueben do not order it. It’s way different.
If you do order it check the bread. I had MOLD on my bread. The ladies were nice enough to give me a new meal. They better but just saying.

Gr8 spot 4 lunch. Never really liked italian sausage (except on pizza) til I tried it here. Grilled chicken sandwiches r also really gud. Every week they hav specials on Monday & Tuesday thru text msg wen u signup. So what r u waitin for? Come try the sausage & tell me its not the best! Btw their beefs r NOT the best :(

First & last visit all in one. I specifically went here to try their Boneless BBQ Rib Sandwich — I could care less about having a burger, dog or Italian Beef as I’ve had plenty of those lately. Originally I took a pass on tagging along for lunch but after checking their website & seeing they had a boneless BBQ rib sandwich I said I would go along because I’m a sucker for those sandwiches.
I walk in & see there is no such sandwich listed on the menu. I walk up to the counter & ask if they have a Rib Sandwich & was told, no, they have no such sandwich. I said, «Huh, that’s strange, it’s listed on your website that you have it.» The guy behind the counter makes no apologies & just says, «Nope. I have a Ribeye Steak Sandwich.» Well damn, damn, damn.
So I begrudgingly order a burger & onion rings instead. Based on other Unilocal reviews saying the patties are thin I got a double cheeseburger. There was nothing special about this burger, just average. The onion rings were pretty good & you get quite a few with the order. After I got back to the office I look up their website again to see if the advertised Boneless BBQ Rib Sandwich was maybe just at certain locations. Nope, there it was not only featured on the home page but also listed on the menu for this location. GRRR. I have no idea if they really didn’t have the sandwich or if the person I spoke to just didn’t have a clue.
My other gripe is the fact they keep ALL the napkins behind the counter. No napkins by the beverage station or the condiments or on the tables — just behind the counter. They give you a couple napkins with your order of course. But, of course, my drink spilled a bit at the table and I searched in vain for a napkin (this was before my order was ready) until another kind patron told me you have to ask for them at the counter. Really?! Ridiculous.
My coworker had a Gyro & she said she would never order that again. She said the gyro meat was not seasoned like any other gyro she’d ever had, that it just tasted strange & she didn’t like the pita bread they use. And out of the 3 meals we ordered, they came out in reverse order. The person who ordered first got the Gyro & they didn’t call her number until several minutes after the other two orders (placed after hers) were ready. How long does it take to slice some gyro meat?
So, after that series of unfortunate events I will not be going back to Pop’s.

I called in an order and was told it would be delivered within the hour. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes, I called to inquire where my order was. The phone person was extremely snotty. She informed me that the delivery person had a flat so my food would come around 9 pm. Well at 920 I called back and not only was the person belligerent, I was also abruptly hung up on.
When my order finally arrived at 940 pm, it was missing the 2 sodas that I had ordered.
Of course I was SOL because I paid with my card.
