This office seems to be just in it just for the money. It’s really disappointing, as i was directed here by other favorable Unilocal ratings. They insisted that a routine tooth cleaning would not be possible, as I require a $ 350 cleaning with scaling and planing. This was never before recommended by other dentists, let alone required. Other repairs found were also not identified by other dentists who subsequently examined me. Very disappointing. And the staff is often not available to pick up the phone, nor answer calls. Though there’s a good show upon a visit.

Recent root canal, two crowns, and deep cleaning. Very meticulously done. Pleasant staff and does not perform unnessary procedures.

For over 20 years I’ve had two darker teeth up front from root canals. Over the years I learned never to smile with my mouth open in pictures. I decided I finally wanted to see if a good solution was possible. I went to see Dr Gill and he did an X-​ray and thoroughly examined my teeth. He gave me several options and I chose the one that worked best for me. Now my teeth match and I feel confident smiling again. I find myself brushing my teeth 3 – 4 times a day now that I am happy with them. I would highly recommend Dr Gill.

My visit to the office of Richard Gill was the best dental experience I’ve ever had. I had a short wait before I was seated, the hygienist was very friendly and above all gentile when taking my X-​Rays and cleaning my teeth. Dr. Gill spent a good deal of time throughly explaining what needed to be done to my teeth. I’m actually look forward to having the procedures done instead of dreading it like I normally would because I know I’m in good hands.

Dr. Gill and his staff are some of the best I have been to yet! The hygienist is friendly and great at what he does! The front office is very friendly and helpful! Would recommend to anyone looking for a dentist!

I have been going to Dr. Gill for years. I follow him wherever he goes. He is very gentle and I hate going to the dentist but if I have to go… I won’t go to anyone else!!! Also love the staff there. If your looking for a new dentist you have to try them!

Had a deep cleaning today and I was very apprehensive that it was going to be very painful. Grant did an amazing job and I walked out of there with super clean teeth and the procedure was absolutely pain-​free. Dr. Gill’s office consistently amazes me at the quality of care they provide. I’ll keep coming back.

I drove several hours upon a recommendation to go see Dr. Richard Gill. I am sure grateful that I did. From the moment I walked in the office I was treated with compassion and it was the first time I had pain-​free dentistry. If you’re looking for a good dentist you don’t need to look any further than here.

I recently had an amazing experience at Dr. Gill’s office in Encinitas! Honestly, my last experience at the dentist wasn’t the best and so I was a little bit weary. I found them on Living Social and got an excellent deal on X-​rays and a teeth cleaning. I was impressed by the care of the staff and their attention to detail. I would go back– especially if I still lived in the area. I was just visiting :)

Coming from a guy who has bad teeth and hates going to the dentist, Dr. Gill and his staff make it very easy for me go. They are highly trained professionals and they tell you what needs to be done to help improve your teeth so you can have a great smile:) I’ve been to previous dentist’s before and it’s always been a complete nightmare. Dr. Gill and his hygienists are super gentle with my teeth and they know how painful it is to be sitting in a chair getting your teeth picked at. Again, I recommend Dr. Gill to all my friends and family. 5 stars

Dr Gill bought this practice from Mary Walsh Cole and hasn’t disappointed. He makes sure he addresses your concerns and explains everything with detail. I was a little worried because of the change, but i am very pleased with the office and some of the new technology. I get pretty anxious at dental offices, and while that may never go away Dr Gill makes me feel very comfortable at his office.

I came in for a cleaning and an exam. The cleaning was meticulously thorough and didn’t experience an iota of discomfort.
Dr. Gil then explained what steps I need to take going forward in a concise easy to understand fashion and was a wealth of information in the wake of my barrage of endless miscellaneous questions.
If I could give this visit ten outta ten I would! ;D

I have followed Dr. Gill from Palm Desert to Encinitas. I wouldn’t even think of going to anyone else. He has been my families dentist for over 10 years. I was so happy that his hygienist «Nihn» followed Dr Gill to Encinitas also. Dr Gill is honest and very caring. His staff is phenomenal. They were so helpful in helping me with my dental insurance. I recently had to have a root canal. The procedure was great, Dr Gill is so gentle and I had no discomfort. This is a five star office and I highly recommend it!

I’m not too sure what the other people’s issues are, but I always have a great experience whenever I walk into Dr. Gill’s office. Dr. Gill and his staff are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. For someone who gets really nervous going into any kind of medical office, they really know how to make you feel comfortable. Both of dr. Gill’s hygienists are excellent. My cleanings are always thorough, yet done in a timely manner and completely painless. I would recommend Dr. Gill’s office to anyone. I have had many family members see Dr. Gill, and they all were satisfied with their visits, also. Don’t always listen to what you hear until you go see for yourself.

Dr. Gill bought this practice from Dr. Mary Walsh Cole. I had been her patient for the last 20 years or so and been very happy. Once Dr. Gill came on board, I was faced with an inexperienced hygienist backed up by Dr. Gill who proclaimed that I needed a $ 1,000 deep cleaning. Since this was completely opposite to my previous experiences, I got another opinion. I now have a new dentist, a hygienist who said that my teeth and gums were healthier than hers, and have avoided a procedure that was unnecessary, painful, and expensive.

I sent my 18 year old daughter in for her routine teeth cleaning. We got switched to Dr. Gill’s office because of insurance and this was her/​our first visit. The staff on the phone was very friendly and accomodating for scheduling and working around my daughters school schedule. The day of her visit she came home and said «mom, I am not sure what happened, but I never got my teeth cleaned and it cost a lot of money.» I was like «WHAT»? Upon investigating and a phone call to the office manager Tam, I found out that they talked my 18 year old into opening a charge account to pay for the $ 1000 worth of dental work that they did that day… white fillings because they don’t do silver and of course insurance did not cover that. They told her that they could do the teeth cleaning another day because she had to get to school.
I know there are 2 sides to every story, but my complaint is who talks an 18 year old student with no job into signing up for $ 1000 worth of debt? I know they are suppose to be adults at 18, but they aren’t and certainly cannot afford it when they do not have a job. I feel that some dentist offices these days are just there to upsell their services and products.
I am giving them 1 star only because Tam, the office manager did work with me (after 2 visits to the office) to close out the credit account and pay them a reduced amount. Also, the receptionist, who no longer worked there after the appt was scheduled, was very professional and accommodating. I was just very unhappy the way the whole thing came about.
