Still my favorite. I had no one ask for bleaching so I guess everyone iced it! Ask for special mustard chicken breast made in brick wood fire oven. Pizza is light and authentic.

don’t let the location and size fool you, this place is amazing. The service is off the charts. the waiter was incredibly attentive without being bothersome and the food was delicious. My girlfriend started with the fried calamari which was tender and lightly battered, I had the beef carpaccio which was delicious. We both had risotto with broiled lobster tail for our entrée and loved it. This is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back. Oh and the wine selection is excellent!

I have been a regular for years and the customer service was really lacking holiday time but they have since made up for it with great customer service and timely deliveries. Food is always top notch!

Wow! I’m not sure how to thank Gio Cucina! While all the restaurants refused to do my son’s bday cooking party, Gio said yes! and not that just that, they are by far the kindest, sweetest team ever! They made my son’s party a moment to remember, and all the guests loved it! The food was so yummy and the décor is so nice :) Thank you again Gio for being such an awesome chef and helping all the little chef kids!

Gio could be so much better. Their pasta is fresh and the dishes read well on the menu, but it falls short. We went for dinner. The burrata in the burrata and tomato appetizer was mush. The salad with beets, ordinary. We had 3 pasta and 1 fish entrée. The pasta was perfectly cooked – the sauces were just so-so, which made the dishes boring and average. Their prices for pasta are a bit high and we were charged $ 15 corkage. We decided to pass on dessert. The service was excellent – friendly and attentive. We will not return.

I truly appreciate the prime customer service in this intimate neighborhood favorite. The family owned restaurant has excellent food, cooking classes, and an authentic Italian feel. Dining here is always a pleasure.

Wow! Just went here for the first time yesterday, as we were attending a birthday party. The resaurant was clean and the décor was adorable(the patio was amazing too!)! The staff was super friendly, but a shout out goes out to the chef– he was amazing from start to finish. I have to say, it was one of the coolest concept birthday parties I have ever been to! The children all got to make their own pizzas in the kitchen with the actual chef and they absolutely LOVED it!(The chef was so good with the kiddos, by the way-he explained everything and was very patient– even with my five year old!) Then the older kiddos got to wait on the adults, they brought the food out, offered grated Parmesan, and fresh cracked pepper– they thought it was so cool to be treated like little adults! As far as the food, I have to say that when I usually go out to eat, Italian is not generally my first choice… However, Gio Cucina might have changed that for me! The Alfredo was soooo good– rich and creamy. The chicken limone was done to perfection– so flavorful and delicious that I even ate the capers(and I am not a fan of capers at all)! The spicy penne was excellently seasoned, and the marinara/pizza was one of the best tasting I have ever had! Overall, I can definitely see myself coming here again when I am craving Italian food– everything was so deliciously fresh I would love to try even more of the menu items next time! I hear they do regular cooking classes here as well, seeing how great the chef was with the kids, I would highly recommend those as well!

After reading the reviews I was hoping for something special with this place. When I arrived after driving by it twice and having to call to say where are you I found the restaurant is stuck on the second floor of a strip mall all the way in the back corner with a view of parked cars and a Land Rover dealership next door… but I decided to try it anyway in case the food would offset the terrible location. Its a small place with tables and wood chairs only and no booths but again I was praying the food would save the day. The service was good and the waiter was friendly so things were looking up… I ordered a Filet Mignon sandwich which was pointed out to me by the waiter on the specials list on the back page of the menu which I had missed and my friend ordered a Caesar Salad with a chicken breast… it arrived in a timely manner as the place was almost empty and I noticed the sandwich was very thin and upon opening it I found out why… on the whole sandwich there were just a few small scraps of beef and some finely chopped mushrooms. I was still hopping the taste of this would make it all worthwhile… sadly the food exactly matched the location belonging in the back corner of a ugly strip mall… the meat was over cooked and so were the mushrooms… my friends Caesar Salad was just as disappointing… the chicken was not moist or tender and mostly flavorless… the dressing was also disappointing and she left 50% on the plate uneaten… I only ate half of the sandwich which was small to begin with… a very very disappointing experience overall… if you like a ugly location and poor food this is the place for you… if not there are hundreds of great restaurants everywhere around Los Angeles… sadly don’t waste your time or money here even if you can find it!

We came because we had a coupon and we were quite pleased with our experience. We started with the bread which is fresh just like Nonna makes it. John almost cried from the familiarity. I had the paparadelle pasta with spinach and burrata ravioli that was homemade and out of this world. Johnny had the trio pasta plate with chicken parmesan, Bolonese and chicken Alfredo — magnificent! I finished with the tiramisu and John with the J Lohr cab — wonderful! We will be back! This our new favorite place and it blows Macaroni Grill!

One of our favorite spots in Encino. The atmosphere is homey — like being in a family kitchen. This unassuming spot hidden in the second floor of a Ventura blvd strip mall makes the most flavorful Italian dishes in the neighborhood. The menu rotates and the options are always good. The staff is friendly and the open kitchen near the dining area is really cool. Check this one out!

I had origianally planned on having lunch at the Chinise food place in the same complex until I got a look at the«food» So here I am in Encino, and I really hate driving around the Valley(I’m from the Conejo Valley) so I look around the complex and happen to see this place on the second story. Not wanting to drive any further, I decide to check it out, and I am so glad I did! I was greeted right away by one of the waters, who seated me inside. I found out later that they have outside seating, and I would have rather sat there, but it is not worth compaining about. They brought delicious bread right away and explained the specials that all sounded amazing. I ended up picking one of the lunch specials and ordered pasta alfredo with saussage, which was AMAZING! I ate the entire pourtion, which was quite large. They offered coffee or cappichino after my lunch, which I wish I had time to have. Unfortantally I had work to get back to. I would defanantly eat here again!

I’ve been meaning to go here for a while and finally did. Now I’m mad for having waited so long! It was awesome! The food was excellent. Finally, real Italian food… not that ridiculous pasta dish covered in cheese that people call Italian. There’s nothing fancy about the location which I enjoy. It does have a nice area to sit outside. The service was lovely. I’m shocked at the few poor reviews. My guess is they expected the overly cheesy and salted dishes people want to call Italian. And. when is attentive service a bad thing? I will be a regular here! I’ve been telling all my friends to go.

This place is great! The food is so fresh and tastes different from what you would find anywhere else. Everything has a homemade taste compared to what you get from the chains. The service is genuine and efficient. Don’t be fooled by the strip mail exterior, the inside of the restaurant has an upscale atmosphere.

Came here for the second time yesterday because we had a good experience the first time but this time was very disappointed. I ordered GF pasta that was about $ 12 – 13 but the waiter came back and apologized and said they only had a half portion available, the waiter said if I add shrimp or chicken it should be ok. After going back and fourth I agreed to try it with shrimp. I literally was done in about 5 bites! It was smaller then a kids portion. I then told the waiter it was good but so small that I will have to order something else so I ordered a half salad but still wasn’t full but was over it. We then get the bill and my $ 12 pasta turned into $ 27 plus $ 6 for the salad! I could have gotten a filet mignon for that price! The fact that they only had a small portion of GF pasta you would think they would have accommodated for the tiny portion instead of adding things to our bill. At the end for the inconvenience they brought 2 little scoops of ice cream on the house. Really disappointing, was hoping this would be our new Italian spot.

I have been here a handful of times with my girlfriend and her family and each time I leave feeling more satisfied than the last. The food is amazing. The roasted chicken is a favorite of the family. The soups are on another level. The salads are a great way to start a perfect meal. What makes the restaurant so special is the quality of the service. The staff is incredibly knowledge on all the dishes and when they tell me about the trio plate I can’t help but have my mouth water every time. Hand-made ravioli. I mean I don’t know what else to say. It’s amazing. As someone else said, this place is a hidden gem! Give it a try. You can thank me later.

What a find! This place reminded me of being back in Firenze! Authentic, delicious Italian cuisine. The burrata in the caprese pompodoro was so rich and flavorful. The ravioli trifecta was perfect… you can sample three different types of ravioli of your choosing, each served with a different delicious sauce. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the service is very attentive. Can’t wait to go back and sample more of this fantastic menu!
